Canceled Ubisoft PS3 exclusive reveals amazing visuals and engaging gameplay

'Games are canceled all the time and most deserve to be canned. Unfortunately, there is always a game that deserves a chance to shine and be noticed by gamers, and this title from Ubisoft is one of those.'

My personal reaction is....Meh.

Wouldve never looked like that and doesnt look all that fun.

Reminded me of that PS3 game that was announced when the PS3 was announced. It had amazing graphics, but i don't think it was ever released. It also looks like uncharted. And boring.

While the graphics may look great, the game just looks like another run-of-the-mill, generic 3rd person action game (yeah, as though there aren't enough of those...). There's nothing mind-blowing here at all.

Why Ubisoft? Why? Ignore the visuals the gameplay looked awesome! Ugh. For what? More of the same Assassins Creed and Splinter Cell? Ubisoft just lost major cool points.

Though I doubt the game would have achieved that look and remained as fluid, it does look pretty awesome.

Also, it's Ubisoft, they would have screwed up in the execution anyway, just as they always do with they have a great concept on their hands. :lol:

your wrong, you can see theres an element of launching a mine or grenade where it shows the trail the object will go, its not pre rendered

iono... looks like cgi with add on user interface to make it look like real gameplay... looks too fluid to me... smells fishy lol. awesome though.Meowmixxvi

Looked alright. Obviously a pre-rendered movie, not a game. Says it right in the article, "While the footage appears to be a target render and doesn't properly portray what the real game would have been like".

im sure it was canceled for a good reason too. The actual game was probably shaping up to be trash.

Hard to say much about target footage that shows a single set piece. Certainly looks like it could've been realized. Reminds me of that Infamous 2 trailer.

What would perhaps have been even more interesting is the premise. Giant robot things in what looks like a contemporary London. Gives Mirror's Edge vibes, that whole oppressive dystopia thing. So yeah, I reckon it could maybe have been good.

Looks really great, and the robots remind me a lot of Metal Gear Solid. But according to someone from Ubisoft who posted in that link, it was just a target render, like Killzone 2. Maybe the next generation of consoles will be able to achieve that, or close to it.

Rumor has it, it was the lems who threatened Ubi so they wouldn't release it... they just wouldn't be able to deal with yet another PS3 graphics king.

It is called Fake Game Footage. It is mostly a pitch level and early development tool to show proof of concept and to sell publishers on a game.

Despite being pre-rendered, that footage looks pretty amazing.

Wow, honestly how out of touch are people with actual game development?

This is a concept mock up that would coincide with the pitch of the game.

Cmon folks, you must know something like this is not possible in realtime in this day and age - especially something that flows this seamless and smooth, unless it is completely on rails.

There is no 'gameplay' other than a character running towards the damn camera (how practical), somet shooting and climbing. Seriously TC this is engaging gameplay? Really we can judge that from this?

Idea wise, it could have been cool, however I highly doubt this ever got deep into production - obviously there must of been issues either with realising the concept or financing the game.

Keep in mind that most games don't even make it out of developement.

Ubi's pretty booked solid withprojects already so it makes sense that cancelations are happening. Sometimes it's sad to see what could have been though.

Looks like something Naughty Dog might be able to achieve, with a little downgrade of course.

I thought that would've been extremely successful.

And by the way UBISOFT, where the hell is I AM ALIVE. No mentions at E3 or Comic - Con. **** Asassin's Creed. Work on I AM ALIVE Goddammit

Games almost never look as pretty as their target renders, but it still looked like a very cool concept for a game with a unique visual look. No wonder Ubisoft dropped it. :(Timstuff

Arguably, Crysis did, but let's not get into that.

Even if the graphics weren't this good (if its actual gameplay) It looks like a pretty interesting game
