I guess none of you have seen a dropped hard drive. Thats how they act when you have a bad sector. the OS tries to fix it and deletes everything in that sector. if a major part of your os is in that sector then it rebuilds everything. Period. I am guessing that was what was wrong with the PS3's to begine with. he was right to return them. either that or go out and buy a new hard drive.loftus42

Question, as I have tried to follow along throughout all the pages. Did you buy all these Playstation 3s at the same Walmart? If so, did you stop to think maybe you should stop exhanging it there as there's obviously a problem with either a bad shipment or something. PS3s do not die in the matter of hours and or days, I think I can safely say that. So there must have been some serious problem that occured either during it's manufacturing, shipment, or when you were under ownership.

It's very unlikely that three systems, or even two systems die in such a short period of time. Any system, even 360. I am not saying it happened or didn't happen as there's too much smite and conviction in these forums nowadays to take anyone seriously. Yet I'm sorry you are being denied so much, it's just that you post this in System Wars which brings about some bad conflicting crowds on the subject. It's just that this is very abnormal, even for console failures.

It's also possible that he returned units that weren't defective at all, just percieved as defective by him.

As far as the PS3 goes, they go bad, all electronics do. This guy just doesn't have credibility with the community, he does however have some good pics and whatnot.

As far as System's go, I play my 360 a ton more than my PS3, if you couldn't tell by my Gamerscore. I just like to question you diehards as it tickles my fancy.

from my perspective it looks like you are just doing damage control from reading your post in this thread along with your at kaos's thread.

i dont think the tc will go to huge lenghts just to put down the ps3. its too much of a hassle and can be time consuming.

I guess it is possible, millions of people have ps3's and even if the chance of this happening is incredibly small, with all the people having one the chance of it happening to ONE person is probably pretty high.

plus it dedends on how you look after your electronics, I keep mine in an open space to ventilate, leave it off when not in use and dust it when it needs it.

If you keep it in an enclosed space and dont dust it so it cant ventilate it will boil so it wont last long.

apprently the whole point of my origional thread is simple, I went through 3 ps3's in one month for a simple reason I bought them from walmart. the first two were defective and the 3rd open. took the 3rd back in less than 20 minuites after leaving store and have had the 1st best buy ps3 with no probs for a little while now. so far so good. I think I finally found a good one. If your looking to buy a PS3 soon trust the stores that depend on gaming merchandise to survive. they take better care of it, I promise. And next if you dont know what your talking about just dont say anythin cause one day someone like me will eventually come to this site and actually tell the truth. well im ghost. ROCK303

this morning my PS3 did a quick switch on me. This was my second PS3 (yoshiboy303) (yoshiboy303x) and now (kiyoshi303x) for PSN. This morning my 2nd PS3 showed a static screen. Would not shut off at all from the controller or the system sensor button. I had to use the power button in back. when I turned my PS3 back on ALL my data was gone?? it was the PS screen again where it makes yoiu choose language and time region and all that again. I configured my PS3 again and when it came up, ALL my saved info including profile had been erased! The PS3 erased all the game saves and trailers and demo's and downloads on the system. So I went back to walmart and got a REFUND!! Went to Best Buy and got my third PS3. Made in oct of 07. the first was the newest being made in jan of 08 and the 2nd in nov of 07. so my new one was made the longest ago and has worked the best. I know the system doesnt change but how people handle the system off the trucks do. And lets face it that cardboard they use doesnt protect the system enough from damage. So go to an electronics store, Not walmart. And hopefully you dont need to go through 3 PS3's to find a good one. (the third PS3 from walmart had no seal sticker and was clearly open Im sorry, but I did return it for cash. not cause it broke but because it was already played and i wont pay new for usedROCK303
