PC Cons: System upgrades are costly. Not everyone likes installing games on a hard drive. Mapping joypads is a pain. Pros: System continually grows. Games are usually cheaper. Huge game library. Multimedia functions all over.
360 Cons: Faulty early systems. Small HDD. No HDMI. Pay for online play. Pros: XBL is a great system. Large game library with good titles. Great developer support. Great games coming.
PS3 Cons: $599.99. Small game library right now. PSN is not on par with XBL yet. Pros: PSN is free. Great games down the line. Good developer support. Affordable Blu-Ray player. Stable system.
Wii Cons: No HD. Extra controller needed for some games (rumor so far). No HDD and up to 2 gig SD cards only. No online games yet. Wii friend codes are a poor system. Developer support has been shaky, but looking up. Pros: $249.99. Non-gamer friendly. Wiimote is very accurate. Best 1st party lineup. Wiimote
Now this is just a simple list. What is the point? It is to show that each and every system has its flaws. None of them are perfect. However, having three strong systems and PC games staying strong is great for gamers. Competition breeds innovation. No true gamer should wish anything but to see each system succeed, if for nothing else than keeping game companies on their toes. And truth is, none of the systems are going to die. All three are too strong and have companies backing them that make major money elsewhere. The only way the 360 dies is if Windows dies. PS3 would have to have Sony's electronics division tank first, and Sony TVs are hot now. And Nintendo cannot fail with its handheld division, so they are all set. To end, all the systems are good, but they have flaws. Deal with it. Gaming is strong, and it is growing. That is a great thing for all of us.
