[QUOTE="-Renegade"][QUOTE="wiiwillwiiwill"][QUOTE="-Renegade"]well this is just one title. i think capcom is making a mistake though and i would not be suprised if we see a port later or an all new game. just look at how they did the gamecube last generation. they claimed the resident evil series would be exclusive to it but we all know how that turned out.Sollet
but this time it turned opposite, monster hunter 3 originally announced as a ps3 exclusive, now is a wii game.:D
when ps2 first launched resident evil 4 was announced as coming to the console... then nintendo and capcom announced the exclusivity some time later.... same situation.
Wouldn't surprise me if they all of a sudden re-announce it for the PS3 if the sales picks up.
I would expect that it would go to the PS2 or PSP before the PS3. It would be hard to port a Wii game to the PS3 but not to the others.
They're still making that series? Don't they all get 5's here on GS?

put it this way, gamespots view on the monster hunter series are bs ;) there good games specially the psp versions. There not casual friendly games however there hardcore games and sometimes because of this its hard to enjoy the game cause boss battles take like a minimum of 10minutes (8 if your good for some bosses) but can last 20minutes or more if your completely useless.
There a niche game like nippon ichi titles however non the less they are good and fill the need for gamers that like there games to taken more then 50+ hours.
The game will probably look worse than the PSP version. Finale-
You forgot to also mention that it says at the very end, "However, this does not mean that Capcom does not intend to release other Monster Hunter titles on the PS3 in the future."
Let's divulge the whole picture next time, mmmkay?

I think that was a given....That Capcom may release a Monster Hunter title in the future. They "may" do anything they want.
Bad for the ps3, good for the Wii.
Hopefully, Ninty will go and secure some more good 3rd party games, this is a good sign.

It means ifPS3 sales pick up they "MIGHT"" get a version sometime in the distant future. This is possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard, this is an online game. I wouldn't have minded for the fact that this wasn't a online rpg (but guess what), it is. And they are using a psp engine on wii? So what is mh3 going to look like
Anyways, this deserves to be hated upon, not because it is coming to ps3, but because wii ruins anohter game that I enjoy.

This thread is about Monster Hunter 3 though, it isn't saying "The Monster Hunter series will never come to PS3!"
Myself, I would have loved to see the game with next gen graphics, but congrats to the Wii owners anyway. Hopefully there are enough that played the PSP version and are excited about this. I have a small inner feeling that there are some Nintendo fanboys who never played the PSP version and are all of a sudden really excited to play the game...

I agree, I am not excited about the game but I am excited by the news and what it means.
[QUOTE="laughingman42"]I would laugh so hard if the PS3 got a crappy spinoff.HarlockJC
Like all the ones the Wii has gotten has of late Soul Calibur Legends to name one
My point exactly.

Monster Hunter series is not about online, its about monster hunting, item collection & crafting and co-op which has always been a nice feature to have but it was never needed to play the game. I love the psp version of this game MHF2, play it everyday over xlink with mates or of late at work with ad-hoc co-op.
Monster hunter games on any platform have been nice to look at, even the psp ones are, the wii one will be no different and in future if a 360 or PS3 version comes out they to will look good.
You don't know capcom very well, when they get new hardware to work with they normally make a new engine to work on it, unfortunately the ps3 development proved to costly and was axed in favour of the nintendo Wii, don't blame capcom for wanting to make money instead of losing it.
There a corparation after all, not a charity.
Oh they already showed a screenshot by the way, the character models are just as detailed as the ps2 versions, and the ground textures are better ;) So saying it will look like the psp versions is just flatout damage control.

seriously why would they want to spend double the development cost for a thrid of the marketshare?

PS2 may have a big population, unfortunately that doesn't translate to the PS3.
Why make a game for a console with half the population and a far higher price (both console & development cost) when they can make the game for a console whos sales are booming, has a fast growing population which can turn even more sales, has japanese appeal which monster hunter is suited for, costs far less (ditto first () )and has the potiential to open up there franchise to another market and will more then likely turn a hugh profit for capcom?
Companies don't care about fanbases if they can make millions, not matter which side its on or if its only in the immediate future ;)

I was agreeing with you :) i was saying that the ps3 has only 1/3 of the marketshare compared to the wii.

Yeah I was backing up my point incase someone else decided to rip it down. Sorry if it appeared it was aimed directly at you mate :) I'm a community MH member around many of the MH fanbases and the actual MH crowd are taking it very well cause most them don't actually have ps3 or next gen consoles, mainly all of us are sitting on the psp MHF2 right now.
I hope they continue to expand the MH PSP games however cause the community is very large on it (xlink FTW), 50% more content again and online support would see sales of the a MHF3 boom into the 2million + mark with ease in japan alone.
Anyway, I think I'm done debating this with fanboys (not you) for the night, they can cry all they want it won't change the fact its going to wii, they'll eventually get one, heck probably even the 360 version will get one if its sales of the game increase outside of japan.
It's third party, Sony doesn't need third parties anymore.DaysAirlinesSo they dont need MGS4 or FF13?
Well, thanks for letting me know that.
Hmm... this is weird. MH3 for Wii? I hope they don't do waggle, I like normal controllers better.
They could have just shifted to 360 because IMO: Monster Hunter + XBL = WIN
Oh wells though, MHF2G will be great.

Even on the Ps3 it wouldn't have your 'next-gen' graphics.. since the Ps3 is in the current generation of consoles. So next gen would be, what... Playstation 4?
THe PS3 is ******* Owned...
This is one of the best selling games in Japan...one that Japaneese people love and buy no matter what the reviews say.
This is a major blow to Sony and the PS3.
Hopefully Sony learns their lesson...but as long as Kaz is in power I don't see that happening....so RIP my beloved PS3.
Wii has OFFICIALLY WON JAPAN.
Japan = Wiiland
USA = 360 Land
Europe = Too many countries to decide who's land...
-D3MO-
The Wii has outsold the 360 in the USA every month this year. How is the USA 360 land?
That wouldn't do too well with MH's major audience.Hmm... this is weird. MH3 for Wii? I hope they don't do waggle, I like normal controllers better.

Because the 360 still has the highest attach rate of any console ever seen (AFAIK). IOW, not only are people buying plenty of 360's, but they're also buying lots of games to go along with them. As for every month, what about last month? I'm not saying whether or not the Wii is actually ahead in terms of revenue or reputation or whatever, but American recognize the 360, and image plays a pretty good role. The Wii has outsold the 360 in the USA every month this year. How is the USA 360 land?
