Capcom CEO wants to port their games that never been on a Nintendo Platform for the Switch

According to a report from Serkan Toto, Kenzo Tsujimoto noted in a new interview with Nikkei how the hybrid concept of the console works better than expected. As far as future support is concerned, the Japanese publisher wants to port games that haven’t been released on Nintendo consoles in the past few years. New games would be better, but this is definitely a good start.

In a new interview with The Nikkei, Capcom CEO Tsujimoto just served up another Switch teaser. He says the home + portable console concept works better than expected and that Capcom wants to port games to the Switch that were not available on Nintendo consoles previously.

The first few games that have never been released on Nintendo consoles in the past are going to hit the Nintendo Switch next year thanks to the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. The Collection will mark the debut of the Street Fighter III series on a Nintendo console.

I am guessing this means the Devil May Cry collection?

I just hope RE4 gets ported. I wanted that to be ported to the Vita. So having it on switch would be amazing as one of the best games on the go is great.

That’s certainly good to hear. I may double dip and get some games of theirs that I may already have on another system depending on how they turn out and if there are any extras in the Switch version.

Very true, Dead Rising 2, 3 , 4 were not available on Switch either so maybe the HD collection of 1 and 2 will be released.

1 was the best DR game imo but being able to co op on two on the go could be fun.

Well given Capcom's love of giving Nintendo some mini games with the Resident Evil revelations collections we might just see all their ports have added goodies hopefully.

Same here! Resident Evil 5, 6, and 7 hasn't been out on any Nintendo Systems. Well they can omit 6 since that's the worst one of the franchise.

6 had fantastic amounts of content. I enjoyed it about as much as 5 if not more.

4 is the best of the bunch obviously but 6 is hated on too much by critics. The only bad part of the game is the ridiculous brightness settings. I could turn my tv brightness all the way up, the game all the way up and it still be too dark lol.

Indeed especially with the additions of cool things. For instance in Dead Rising the could just reskin the mega man armor into Samus armor and the blaster if they were lazy and maybe add some other cool Nintendo like costumes or weapons. With other games they could keep the lore contained with the extras but I feel Dead Rising they could get really wacky.

2018 is going to be huge for Nintendo from SE, especially for Project Octopath Travelers

i'll take dead rising 1 on the go. The xbox 360 remastered version, not the water down version with fewer zombies.

I'm scratching my head as to what I'd like to see on the Switch that hasn't been released on a Nintendo system in the last few years. Probably nothing that I don't already own on another current system.

Anyhow, not that I would buy it, but I think it would be cool to see Okami HD on the Switch, wouldn't double dip anytime soon though because just grabbed it for $20 on the XB1 and I'm sure Nintendo will want to sell it for their system for twice that, too much for any double dipping.

I'm taking about Capcom though, but yes, I can think of better stuff from Square Enix's end of things no doubt.

Hopefully Sega compels Atlus to port over the last three Persona games on the Switch too, I hear the Japanese are fervently stubborn about that kind of stuff but if anybody would compel them too more I imagine it'd be Sega... then again, they don't even have the good sense to fund a Bayonetta sequel by themselves so who knows what unpredictable thing they'll do there. I'm excited for another SMT game for the Switch but let's be real, it's a series that's never been groomed for mass appeal like the Persona series was.

They say games that were in a Non-Nintendo Platform like Dino Crisis, Resident Evil 5-6 & 7, Dead Rising 2 to 4, Dragon's Dogma, Devil May Cry series, and others. I know you want MH XX, but it's available in Japan only.

Hmm I played the demo of RE6 on PS3 and thought it was but lost interest.

Maybe I'd give it another try on Switch.

They should also evaluate other games that could be ported across different consoles.

I'm really thrilled to see Capcom being a very supportive 3rd-party for the Switch. Year 1 and 2 for the Switch I see as a port phase, which I don't think is a bad thing (especially when new content is simultaneously being released), when it's really just the beginning. Once Switch builds a good install base I think these ports will just more power for the Switch.

With Bayonetta 1, 2 and 3 going on the Switch, I really hope that means Vanquish makes way too. I hope NieR: Automata makes way at some point, too.

Switch is about to be a hardcore port machine of old games to the point saturation soon. 60 dollars for last gen games galore!

Anyone who owns a PS4 or XBOX ONE shouldn't be talking about over saturation of ports.

Megaman 8 was on the Gamecube in the Megaman Anniversary Collection.

If they port Capcom VS SNK 2 or even Capcom vs SNK 1 on the Switch(near-perfect port) I'd probably buy one immediately.

Also very true. Because of sales the Switch is going to get more games. Because of it's power level several of those games will be ports.

I would love to see a 3rd party AAA title made for the Switch and then ported elsewhere. PS2 set the precedent with AAA titles being designed originally for weaker consoles and then getting ported up. So it can happen.

I'd be happy to see things that have been Nintendo systems also, I would be very happy to see Viewtiful Joe.

Unlikely, but if we could get remasters of the first two Dino Crisis games on Switch, it'd be a dream come true.

Was thinking about that myself. But they didn't say "series". Just games. And then I can think of Resident Evil 7, SFV, Dragon's Dogma, MvC... probably forgetting something. Those aren't really games I want to see on Switch, though. I'd welcome them into the Switch library, but I wouldn't buy any of them.

Absolutely, RE4 on the Switch would be a dream come true. Keeping an eye currently on the RE4 HD project for PC to finish before my next play-through, but having it available on the Switch (even if only Vanilla) would be prime.

LOL. That would be the 4th time I'd buy the game. Got it on GameCube, Wii and PC already, but would totally quadruple dip. :P

Btw, the PC version is awesome. There's no need to wait for the HD project, if you thought that you needed to.

Yup. Been going on for a while. They still have some stuff to do late game, but the majority of it is finished. You can DL the village part, but I don't think anything else. Check out their progress section and you can get an idea of what's going on.
