TC...
your fanboyism has blinded your judgement... its quite sad..
making games multiplatform is a good thing as long as the quality stays there.... now fans of halo and dmc only have to pay 400 buck and not 1000.

Capcom is really going to owe the fanbase an explaination if they ruin the game for all the 360 casuals. Prettymuch everything on 360 is dumbed down to mind-numbingly easy. I'd say this isn't "PS3 loses an exclusive" and probably instead it's going to be another case of 360's casual dumbass mentality ruining another series.... I mean look at what happened to Ghost Recon, Rainbow6, and Oblivion's interface.Lazy_Boy88
Is this guy serious? Ghost Recon, Rainbow 6 and Oblivion? Man the cows are in full swing tonight.
Let me try to explain in simple terms. If DMC4 releases tomorrow (i know its later on...but for sake) on 360 and PS3, it has a potential buyers market of 11 million users. If it wasonly for PS3, the market would only be 1.3 million. See?
If anything, Capcom helped itself and hurt Sony. Is that why u r upset?
[QUOTE="Michael85"]Dead Rising and Lost Planet both sold over a million on the 360. Why the hell shouldn't they port DMC?SuperKnightXDevil May Cry is NOT the same type of game as LP and Dead Rising. Its very difficult and such games DMC and NG only sell great in Japan.
Devil May Cry has a respectable following in the states actually. How could Ninja Gaiden sell well in Japan when it's an X Box game?
Capcom owes Sony an explanation. Making DMC will not even make more money for Capcom and they are idiots for doing this. People buy systems for their exclusives, and the fundamentals of system sales are based upon this. This will niether help or make money for Capcom, DMC 4 will sell the same if not less copies than the last entrances in the series, and they owe an explanation for why they would do this. This is not actually GOOD for the gaming economy because each system needs exclusives, imagine if ps3 got halo 3, there would be no point in buying an xbox 360. And all you "but it has teh gear of warzzzz" shut up because xbox360 would not have existed had halo series not sold so well on regular xbox. This will prove to be worse for gaming that better.escaflowne36your logic makes no sense. how is releasing the game on 2 systems going to make it sell less than releasing it on just 1 system?
and capcom does not owe sony an explaination. as a 3rd party developers, they care about selling games, not consoles.
[QUOTE="Michael85"]Dead Rising and Lost Planet both sold over a million on the 360. Why the hell shouldn't they port DMC?2largeadultsSimilarly, offering Dead Rising and Lost Planet on the PS3 means more money without a significant re-investment into new game production. See how it works. If you're going to be a smartass, at least punctuate your questions correctly.

DMC only sells well in Japan :| Sales for DMC in each region. US: 1.29 million, Japan: 0.65 million, others: 0.83 million. Seems to me it sells best in the US.
I see absolutely no logic at all in what the TC is trying to say. U claim that exclusives define a system ??? What the hell are first-party developers for ?? Capcom does not owe Sony an explanation for any of their actions regarding the support of their competitors!! Capcom isn't owned/controlled by Sony at all!! If Capcom did have to give an explanation, they would probably say "Dead Rising sold more than a million on the 360, Lost Planet sold more than a million on the 360, we'd be COMPLETE IDIOTS NOT TO PUT DEVIL MAY CRY 4 ON THE 360, BECAUSE THAT IS A GUARANTEED TO SELL MORE THAN DEAD RISING AND LOST PLANET BOTH PUT TOGETHER BECAUSE IT IS AN ESTABLISHED FRANCHISE!!"
I'm not suprised that Capcom is bringing DMC4 to 360, following the success of Lost Planet and Dead Rising. It would be logical for them to put an established franchise on the 360, because it is guaranteed to sell more than new IPs (LP and DR).

My point exactly.
the point is that it makes to sense in porting DMC4 to the 360. just like the others stated, people buy consoles for the games. Capcom isnt the only company that needs to explain....Namco Bandai does too sense they are now releasing Ace Combat 6 on the 360. Those were some of the main franchises that made me want to purchase a PS3. It makes no sense at all for them to go multiplatform or even make the new platform an exclusive to them only. what they should of done was make new franchises instead of switching consoles and continuing the old ones on them.no it's not. DMC and ace combat are both 3rd party franchises, and halo isn't.
I mean the Air/Ace Combat and Devil May Cry series has been on Sony's platforms from day one on both PS1 and PS2. That's like all of a sudden putting the HALO series on PS3.djxaquaxblue
and it makes perfect sense for them to go multiplat. if less people have a system, then less people will buy the game for the system. so tel sell more copies, the companies are releasing their games on 2 systems

Explanation for what? Trying to maximize their profits? Unless Capcom signed some secret contract agreeing to coddle Sony I don't think they have to justify anything.

Wow...this mad cow disease is spreading...
Say the ps3 was only 100 dollars, and you wanted to play DMC 4 (and it was still exclusive), you would buy a ps3 to play DMC 4, and the sony exclusives. With less exclusives, both sony and capcom lose money, because someone buys a system for its exclusives. if nothing was exclusive, the only reason people would buy one system over another is like...the controller or free online. Capcom will not make as much money off this, than they would have had they kept DMC 4 exclusive. escaflowne36
You see, there's the difference between you and me. I buy systems to play games not just to wait for exclusives. And 90% of the market are like me. Exclusives are just a nice bonus. However I would never in my right mind buy a $250, $400 or $600 anything just for one or two games - not going to happen for me. Sometimes there is a game or two that I would like to play, but can't because it isn't comming to the system I own, however I can live with that. And even then I can go and borrow a system from a friend or a shop just to play this game.
Dead Rising and Lost Planet both sold over a million on the 360. Why the hell shouldn't they port DMC?Michael85Completely off topic, I really liked lost planet, but I just bought dead rising yesterday...and the game just blows. I dont understand whats so great about it, I must be missing something. I just cant believe dead rising is so popular.
[QUOTE="For me in example, multiplats are a good thing because it means I can get a cheaper version of a game instead of having to dish out $600 for it.
See thats another thing...what if we already had a PS3 and they end up not making the game for that system at all because of the user base crap? From what I'm seeing DMC4 is going to be on both consoles but as for Ace Combat 6....if they make it exclusive to the 360 then that's pretty mest up especially if your a big fan of the series.

Well, they have a higher chance of making money on a console with 10 million vs. 1.8 million, maybe fans shouldnt have jumped the gun to buy a console before the game was announced. Too bad, they should have bought a 360, I'll let them know how AC6 is.

Capcom owes Sony nothing. They're in it to make money. Apparently, Sony wasn't selling consoles quickly enough to establish a huge fan base. By offering their game on another platform, Capcom has boosted its own sales without having to rely on Sony. That's smart business.2largeadults
lmao, ps3 sold quicker than 360

"dear sony,
you over promised and under delivered. as a result your system is percieved to be sucking because of the standards and expectations you set for it. in addition you over price it and tell people to get a second job. with a second job they wouldn't have time to use it. as a result it's not selling, it's floppage of biblical preportions.
people dont buy games for systems they dont own. we are a game maker, thats how we earn our living, how we pay our bills, we sell games. we must sell games, and the more the better. as a result we are forced to move to the system that is selling so people will buy our games for it.
sincearly,
capcom"
