I think most of those were MLG players. They were hyping this game up to no end because a lot of them want a new competitive game so they hype up any new release.
They even petitioned to get a GameBattles ladder up.
I tried telling everyone that console games are going the way of COD4. Extremely nubafied games where a new kid can kill a pro just so everyone finds the game "fun"
Fun game. But Capcom didn't put out any commercials for it, so I guess they deserve it.

What games? Remember Psychonauts? Advent Rising? Phantom Dust? Breakdown? No big publicity, no sales. That's usually how it works. I'm sure there's a few surprises, but they're few and far between.

Wii owners are such whiny kids, complaining how the Wii doesn't get the support it ought to considering the hardware sales, but when a quality title hits them in the face they ignore it and whine some more instead. For the record, Im a wii owner and I didn't buy it/ I'm part of the problem!

That is cuz 45million out of 50 are soccer mom's who own a Wii and only buying Wii Fit's and **** of this kind. The other 5millions of ppl with a Wii are 8y old kids (for most) who don't even know wtf Boom Blox 2 is and are only buying Mario/Zelda/Metroid and another 1000000 mario games cuz his daddy told him 'Mario its what i was playing 20years ago and its great son'
Well the thing is the game isn't very good at all. If you're not going to release any commercials, you should at least make a decent game so word of mouth takes effect.

Uh, yeah I play it. You're point? A new kid can still kill a pro. The hitbox is huge and it's one shot kills. I go around with a pistol and still do the best on my team.
I have three other accounts, so don't say "OMG U HAVE NO COD IN YOUR GAMERTAG U DONT PLAY IT LIAR!"

The internet and it's infinite wisdom along with other marketing tools on social networking sites have proven to be more effective and reach a broader and larger audience more than prime time television. I read it in a magazine article, and it seems like it's true to me or sensible at least. Still I'm not sure if any games have had a commercial on air for t.v. but I hardly if ever watch t.v. now.
But was bionic commando hyped to sell millions like infamous as a exclusive game?

I actually saw more hype for Bionic Commando. A lot of people including myself have been waiting for a remake of this franchise for a long time. It's just sad that it didn't turn out well. On the other hand Infamous is a brand new ip.
*sigh* There really should be a rule here where you cant call a game a sales flop untill a year after its launch. Theres been so many cases where a games had slow sales initially and went to sell alot more later. Someone mentioned boom blox 2 was a sales flop however boom blox 1 had crap sales in the beginning and is now at or near 1 million in a year.
Theres plenty of other cases too. Not all games will sell well after a long time but all deserve the chance to before getting called a flippity flop.

Games with tv adverts usually do better than those without 'em. As we know, the quality of a title means nothing for the most part. Awful games have sold time and time again thanks to some tv time. 50 Cent: Bulletproof and Two Worlds (which oddly enough had tv adverts). Bionic Commando is leagues above those games, but it flopped due to poor marketing, nothing less. Capcom did a craptastic job educating the masses.

as soon as i saw the main character i had doubts about the game. white dude with dreds? is it 2002 again? i just hope it doesnt scare them away from remaking old classics. i wont be happy until i see a next gen Strider. put the Devil May Cry guys on it and it could be awesome. a man can dream cant he? lol
