Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Demo is out and....

I thought it was awesome, the visuals are gorgeous, the gameplay is solid and fun, the demo is pretty much a big tutorial, but the presentation, the music the voice acting, and it seems teh story will be great. It does borrow from God of war in terms of the combat, but this game still has its own flavor to it. Overall I thought it was a cool demo, havnt played he full game yet but im probably heading between an 8.5-9 on this game. So far the demo was good to me. Check it out guys.

well that and the reveiwer was jsut nitpicking the crap out of the game, he rarely talked about the really awesome points of the game all he focused on was OMG GOW RIPOFF!!!, and OMG SO MANY TUTUORIALS!!!, when if there werent any hed complain about not knowing what to do. For me the combat seems stronger than Darksiders and that game got an 8. I thought the demo was awesome, though short i thought it was great.

Glad you liked it it. Despite what some have said, the game definitely has it's own vibe and feel. Looking forward to picking up my limited edition tomorrow.

I will probably try the game out on the PSN whenever I can.

I'm sure it's good and the score is reflective of it's unorigionality.

I look forward to trying out the demo. I love me some GoW, playing through III again right now, and don't really have a problem with games playing like other games, especially if the gameplay being copied is awesome.

Just going by the demo, I would give GOW III a slight edge, but not by much. I am looking forward to seeing how the rest of the game stacks up. Based on what I have seen, it can definitely go toe to toe with with some top tier exclusives and smokes many of them. It is definitely one of the better looking multiplats out there, hands down.

Also, here is a pic that I got off GAF. Yes, it is off screen, but it still shows it is a beautiful game. A little jagginess on the rock, but everything else looks great. Especially the water and reflections. It's a gorgeous game.

Edit: Well there certainly was some framerate issues. I downloaded the PS3 version, maybe I try the X360 demo next. The rain effect looked awesome though and it played fine too.

A bit too much button bashing for me, I might pick it up though for the atmosphere. I love Castlevania.

I always lol @ the GoW clone comment i see. This type of Castlevania game goes back to PS2 long before GoW so -shrugs-

Apparently Konami tried to minimize the use of Quick Time event, and that's a damn good thing. Anyway i loved the demo, short but sweet. As for music...heh i don't know i have mixed feeling about what i heard. Mind you i'm used to Michiru's Yamane music in previous games but she left Konami so...maybe it will grow on me.

David Cox (game producer) said that the demo is the same build that was shown at E3 and that the framerate issues are not in the retail version.

Downloading it. Unfortunately I won't be getting the game right away. Wish I could but I spend most of my money on Halo Reach and Dead Rising 2. I gotta save the rest for Fallout New Vegas. I'll get it around Christmas time.

Did you hear the ign podcast when the reviewer tried to defend his piss poor review. He didint touch on anything anyone said he just basicly said 7.5 is good and the devs were **** about it. When in fact they were complaining about the review itself not the score and so were people.

Yeah, IGN's review was pretty poor. It's kind of hard to say what Castlevania "feels" like when there are so many ways it's been presented(ex the DS games definately felt more anime-ey than SOTN, etc).

Some of the more positive reviews suck too. I didn't like GI's because it didn't really go into detail either, rather the reviewer was pretty much "yeah I like this game and it's good and awesome 9/10 the end."

I'm loving the demo. The gameplay is fun and satisfying. The game is gorgeous. One of the best looking games I've played. It also have Patrick Stewart :3

Nah, I did not even bother. I thought it was an awful review as well, but it is what it is. All I know is I will love this game and cannot wait to get my copy tomorrow.

I thought that demo was awesome, unless the game goes terribley wrong somewhere, I dont see the problem. It left me wanting to play more. People complaing about it being to much like GOW, what are they supposed to do? After GOW, now no game can have that kind of gameplay? How else would it be done? Looks like I may have to buy this after all.

I did a real quick Output signal Flip comaprison of the 360 adn PS3 Demos, and didnt notice anything. Ill look at it a bit more right now.

maybe if you didn't mash, every other game in it's genre wouldn't play the same :X. Bayonetta and DMC have a completely different feel from ninja gaiden and those have a different feel from god of war. Altho this does have it's similarities, it still has a different feel to it.

I feel inclined to agree with you but I'm going to have to wait at least until I get the game and get some-what far into it tomorrow. Patrick Stewart's voice puts the game on a whole nother level.

and agreed with both above posters in regards to bayonetta combat.
