This game is amazing.......its the complete package and the best action game of the year. The ending will be talked about for a long time.....YuriSH

Gameplay wise I still find Bayonetta better but everything else from VA's, story, characters LoS tops every Action this gen.

Except Enslaved(story).

Hmm Enslave did seem very interesting from the demo. (I wouldn't expect no less from NT though Heavenly Sword had a good story also)

This game's artistic design is unbelievable...it easily tops GOW III's art design as well as Dante's Inferno (which I thought, should have been far better) The game reminds me alot of Pan's Labyrinth. This should easily win best graphics (artistic)....the soundtrack is excellent as well.

I'm sure without a doubt that Enslaved will have one of the best video game stories(Not like there are that many fantastic ones).

A game that is going to have an even shallower version of the God of War combat isn't going to be in the same league as Bayonetta. I want to try the game for presentation, but the demo wasn't a major selling point. It played like a game where the developers put all their hopes in the presentation instead of the actual game itself.

As someone fond of hack n slash(action) games that is a bit underwhelming.

Played the Demo, Only things I found remotely similar to God of War was the Attack Layout. (Y and X / [assuming] Square and Triangle) and the Health Sess Pools, Otherwise it wasn't a complete God of War Ripoff at all (Dante's Inferno was way more God of War).

I'm sure I would find some similarities to God of War in the Full game but from what I got from the Demo, I couldn't call it a God of War Ripoff at all.

It just didn't feel like it (unlike Dante's Inferno).

The combat is far deeper than GOW, but less so than Bayonetta. You button mash on harder difficulties, you die easily.

shallow version of the god of war combat!? did you see the combos you can unlock on the skills screen!? I'll have to wait and see if your statement is true but I love the fact that you actually have a jump button - not relying on the combo to do it for you.

edit: I dunno what I meant by that statement cause there's a jump button in GoW too LOL and seeing as I've beaten gow 1 + 2, 3 times, and god of war III once.

I forgot to mention the artwork. Mercury Steam really impressed me on that front. MS impressed me with the whole package. I thought this was going to be another simple Western Action game (GoW clone) and it was going to suck just like the first game they developed. I'm glad I was so wrong lol.

From a combat standpoint I'm honestly not fond of anything from that demo. A lot of it seemed as button mashy, and it has one of the same annoyances that bug me in God of War. Weak feedback. In Bayo I can tolerate it to an extent(mostly because the feedback is fine, just not the same level of umph NG has) because the combat itself is far more graceful(and well the epitome of amazing). l Castlevania? very underwhelmed by the combat, and chaining combos wasn't exactly exciting.

I still want to give the game a shot as I was a big fan of Symphony of the Night(haven't played a castlevania since), but the demo is any indication? the complete package? best action game of the year? Not by any stretch of the imagination. On presentation it smokes Bayonetta(IE story, voice acting, characters themselves), but the actual game play so far? which by the same token I'm willing to bet a butt load of money that the boss battles, pacing, level design itself isn't even within shouting distance of Bayonetta or even God of War 3. Hell I'm still waiting to see exactly if any area of the combat is suppose to be better than GoW(um GoW has a jump button), because at this point I don't see it from the game play perspective.

Its because you played an early level in which you can button mash...can't do it later in th egame on harder difficulties.

Obviously because people are talking about Castlevania's story as if they played it themselves, so I'll mention Enslaved. That game's story is getting praised more.

From the demos I liked Castlevania story presentation more than enslaved but only when I play the full game I will know which one is better :P.

I actully heard the Boss battles in LOS are great especially the final one. Im proboly the first one to say this but bayonetta didint click with me at all. I mean the combat is fun but I couldint get into the game at all.

I have the game and it is amazing, paying big tribute to the older Castlevanias.

you know what makes it awesome, it has the old world map, you know the the map scroll, it is not exactly like the old map but it is just like in the old castlevanias.

The game is hard if you play the normal difficulty it will be hard but if you want to start like me and play the knight difficulty the game will be punishing and you will get killed most of the time by normal foes so prepare yourself for a challenging combat game.

the music is fantastic, it is orchestral and mythicaland complement the game's universe very well.

here are some images.

Photobucket

Photobucket

for those who wants to see some good ****, it is spoilerific a bit.
Photobucket
yea the game is amazing.

IMO The game looks better (graphics) than God of War 3 gameplay-wise...GOW3 only looks better in cutscenes with some character models.

How are the graphics compared to GOW? Technically not artistically.

erglesmergle

I just played the demo on PS3. It has some nice lighting effects and textures but honestly it doesn't look as good as GOWIII. It's much rougher in comparison (aliasing issues) and the framerate is much poorer than GOW's. GOW wins hands down imo.

Patrick Stewart's voice puts the game on a whole nother level.Some-Mist

He was the narrator, right?

Did anyone else think the narration audio sounded bad in comparison to the rest of the audio? Sounded all muffled.

Framerate is a bit inconsistent and the combat is more fluid in GOW, but there are far more options (the combat is more open) than GOW, nowhere near as good as Bayonetta combat wise though, at least not so far...

Lens of Truth.

Looks like there's NO difference.

Konami did good.
