The Witcher 3 killed Elder Scrolls and Cyberpunk just killed Fallout.
lol, you delusional or something, the witcher 3 doesn't even come close to a bethesda game.
It doesn't come close because it surpassed Bethesda games in every way. Graphics, gameplay, story, characters, detail, etc.
I agree that CDPR is better, but no company can make the type of open world games BGS does and they will continue to sell millions upon millions.
and Starfield will kill Cyberpunk.
With their 1999 graphics engine and in-game Pokemon card packs with a stick of gum? Lol.
I'm no Witcher hater but.....lol, no, dude, it does not touch the Elder Scrolls. And big Fallout fans (like me) will always love Fallout. I don't know why people feel the need to make threads like this. Bethesda is one of a kind, glitches and all, and has a ton of devoted fans. For some reason that makes some people furious. **shrugs**
That being said, Cyberpunk looks AMAZING. Day one.
CDPR doesn't even amount to a pebble in Bethesda's shoe tread. Why do people like tW3 so much, it's combat feels more shallow than a wet bed.
and Starfield will kill Cyberpunk.
And how do you know? Some fortune teller told you that?
Very different games for me. The Elder Scrolls games are about mucking around on a big, pretty sandbox and modding the hell out of it. Witcher games have more of a narrative focus.
And why are you even comparing Cyberpunk 2077, which is a cyberpunk game, to Fallout, which is a post-apocalyptic game?

Completely disagree, Bethesda games offer far more versitility in gameplay, character development and role play/freedom... even if the combat (Well Fallout is ok) is dated, its much harder to create good FPS Melee combat....
Witcher was a better "CRPG" only in its choices/story/narrative/presentation ..... but as an RPG? Shit hit box crap with barely any character progression/custimisation (worth a damn) or variety.
I love both Witcher and Elder Scrolls, but Wither 3 was a one-time and done 100+ hour greatness. Bethesda games I can return to and approach things very differently (FROM A GAMEPLAY PERSPECTIVE) or mod the s*it out of em.
this forums obessions with "Presentation + Production Values > Everything else" is pathetic.
Not at all. I loved Fallout, Elder Scrolls, and The Witcher. I’m going to love Starfield, Elder Scrolls VI, and Cyberpunk 2077. No need to limit myself.

Modders have to come in and make Bethesda's games less shit lol.
@NathanDrakeSwag:
Nah. Gimme a Witcher-like game from CDPR with a 100% customizable protagonist with a massive world scope and THEN it'll be safe to say that they replaced Bethesda. I dunno about Cyberpunk but if it doesn't have the same creative freedom as Fallout 4 then it has a long way to go before it replaces it.

If you ignore everything else said... then yea.
But hey, you are a Playsation fan, so I know you guys love flashy, shallow 3rd person games and not capable of anything more.
They're not the same type of game at all. Similarities begin and end at 'good action RPGs'.
Must be why they both sell a whole lot.
Because... you know... If you we're correct at all we'd see that represented in the sales... So... I guess that means you just don't know of what you speak.
So... yeah... this is awkward for you... /thread?
Nah. I got bored with The Witcher 3 at 173 hours; right about the time I'm supposed to find allies for Geralt. It remains unfinished up to now. I finished Fallout 4 at 374 hours. And yet, I'm now at 820 hours with it because I find its game world more interesting.

The original Fallout's (1+2) will always be my favorites. Something was lost when they went first person. The type of humor in game changed dramatically as well.
I watched a bit of the stream (hats off to them for streaming game play..thanks for that)
but my first reaction was 'This reminds me of Altered Carbon, a lot of visual assets but not much depth'
But to be fair heavy cut scene games makes me uncomfortable. but I do appreciate the first person view

lol you can't even sneak
Personally, I don't think Bethesda has made a great game since Morrowind. Oblivion was a neat "my first RPG", Fallout 3 is easily the worst game in its series, Skyrim was heavily flawed, and I never even felt like finishing Fallout 4.
So as far as I'm concerned, CDPR made them redundant with their very first game.
Bethesda is great at creating large open worlds to explore. They're not particularly good at any other part of the design (story, quests, role-playing mechanics, gameplay, combat, etc.).

There was a huge amount of gameplay shown, and it is an RPG after all.

not from what I saw, a saw a great deal of what looked like it could have been game play but I could tell it was a 'guided cut scene'.
I saw some game play shooting though
case in point, the walk thru the town, I think that was actually not game play, I think that was a guided cut scene because of the pacing.

This is gonna be an agree to disagree thing. I found the slight incorrect movements and the way it flowed to indicate gameplay on a controller. Unless that was their intent, but it would indicate gameplay at some point. Supposedly, it is playable beginning to end.

if I get a chance I will go back and take a look, I didnt have audio at the time, it looked very fluid and controlled to me.
Bethesda made themselves obsolete long ago. They didn't need CD Projekt's help, but CD did nail that coffin shut.
The fact that people have to continually compare CDPR to Bethesda is proof that Bethesda is not obsolete and that they are still king of the Western RPG which is why all Western RPGs still get compared to Bethesda games.
CDPR can't match the sales of Bethesda's games, they can't match the RPG elements in Bethesda's games, and they can't match the freedom offered in Bethesda's games. Outside of Internet message boards like this, I never even hear anybody talking about The Witcher whereas Skyrim is still being talked about and played 7 years later. You call that obsolete?
As if fanboys of CDPR couldn't be more unbearable. Bad enough that if you don't like a Witcher game, they think you commited a crime.
