Bethesda is like Apple.
People will buy even if rotten.
Lol, Bathesda fans complaining about "combat" in other games. Now that's cute.
bethesda publish game DOOM has best combat since FEAR.

Publish =/= Develop.
BGS has nothing to do with Doom.
Bethesda doesnt really give a **** about id. Case in point. Quake Chumpions.
I agree. Regardless of your opinion though from a technical standpoint CDPR is a decade ahead of Bethesda.
@dr_vancouver: Implying combat in bethesda games isnt trash?
The combat in Skyrim is not great, but it is serviceable enough to not bother me. Plus, it has much more variety.
The combat in The Witcher games, on the other hand, is so bad that it does bother me. It's complete garbage and it doesn't offer the variety that Skyrim does to try to make it more interesting.
They both have their own special place in the world.
... and yet I still enjoy all the games mentioned from both developers.
lol right?
FFS people, it's not a competition. You're allowed to enjoy it all; hell, you're even encouraged to enjoy it all. You can eat chocolate and vanilla, sometimes even at the same time *GASP!*. You can own a Ford and Chevrolet vehicle; I know, crazy, right? And you can play Bethesda and CDPR games.
while I do think CDPR are the better studio I'll happily play games from both

And CDPR die-hards (which there are a lot of, I've noticed) find that a crime.

No but it is just baffling why you would want to play something in the same genre that is completely inferior in every way after playing a masterpiece like TW3.
CDPR's games make Bethesda games look like low budget indie trash by comparison.
Go look at Fallout 76. Look how bad the character creation is and how ugly their outdated engine is. The only thing they can come up with is some shitty card gimmick. Meanwhile CDPR quietly dropped one of the greatest gameplay demos of all time yesterday.
OK, already threw away all my Bethesda games. It's done. 10/10 thread, thanks for the eye opener.
No problem. Glad I could help.

Maybe you could offer more tips on which games he should or shouldn't be playing so he does't mate the same mistakes in the future.
Thanks for the info, but not much would get me more excited than a new Elder Scrolls.
Cyberpunk to me is a 'wait and see how they pull it off - game', whereas I'd really have to calm my tits if I heard there's a new gameplay video of the next Elder Scrolls.
I'm very interested in Cyberpunk, but I'm not exactly hyped. It's a very ambitious FPS from a dev who has never done one before. And while The Witcher series is good, I'm personally not the biggest fan. They're cool and all in the beginning, but they always somehow become a chore to play to me. I've started all of them and never finished one.
Maybe because I get forced to play as the cheesy character Geralt, I never get immersed enough to hold my interest.

"Published". Here we are talking about hand to hand "combat" developed by them in Fallout and TES.

Implying I care about Fallout 76 at all (would rather an Obsidian Fallout, or hell, give Arkane a shot after Prey). Besides, you proved my point. CDPR fanboys are as defensive as any other group over their holy relics of "proper" RPG's over someone who likes the lower games of other RPG devs (Bethesda, Bioware, Game Freak, Square Enix).
In this instance, you're acting like the very sheep (including me) you hate, in that you're defensive over someone liking something else that's considered lower tier, or "awful".

The real baffling thing is why you would want to play any of these games on console if you care about quality. They are so inferior to the PC versions.
TW3 is one of my favorite games, but I can not play it forever and I want different experiences. None of the games are perfect, but they all have cool worlds to explore, interesting stories and characters. They are all worth playing.

It has. any game has better combat than witcher 3. also skyrim control much better with keyboard and mouse unlike witcher 3.
From an RPG standpoint, they're all popamole shit. If I'm gonna play an action game at least give me some decent action.
That's why I'd rather play either proper RPGs (like cRPGs... not awesome action console RPGs) or straight up action games.
Traditional RPG conventions such as crits, hit points, etc. work much better in traditional RPG combat, not in real time action combat where such abstractions are no longer needed and more often than not just lead to bad gameplay. RPG mechanics in action games should instead be handled via new moves and techniques that the player can learn as they advance.

Whatever you're smoking, can I some of that good shit?
Also, I play Witcher 3 with my Xbox Elite controller, it doesn't do well with KB/M which is why the combat sucks for you. Play witcher 3 with a controller you fool!
Skyrim is in the top 10 best games made of all time. Witcher 3 might make top 50.
lol Rockstar alone has made 10 better games than Skyrim.

Damn right I did. I don't get annoyed at Skyrim's combat. It's not great, but it is serviceable enough to not distract from the game.
I despise the combat in The Witcher 3. All I can think about while trying to play The Witcher 3 is how much I hate it's combat. It's one of the biggest reasons why I had to quit the game after a few hours. I knew there was no way that I could continue to deal with it's crappy combat and movement controls for 70+ hours. I've played Skyrim for over 100 hours and always remained simply indifferent to it's combat; it neither excited me nor annoyed me like The Witcher's crappy combat did.
@storm_of_swords: Wow you must be really high if you even think Skyrim's crappy combat is better than The Witcher 3. And hate to break it to you, but The Witcher 3's combat isn't awful. Yeah I said it, it's pretty good. Much better then any Bethesda game's combat!

You are calling me high and then go on to say that The Witcher 3's crappy combat is actually good? Not just tolerable, but you think that garbage is actually good? What do you think about the movement controls in The Witcher 3? I can use another good laugh.
