this is why i usually don't play CTF these days. everytime i cap a point in cod i get yelled at by my teamates saying "why are you scoring"?

Unfortunately these things happen quite often in almost every game's CTF mode, so you either rush them with a full sided attack to score and force them to attack, or go for a Draw if you don't want to give them kills, but that ain't the essence of the game, alas!!!

1) KDR is an overrated statistic that is not indicative of player ability/skill.

2) Objective-based gametypes are not measured by kills for a reason.

The actual concern 343i may have is that KDR ballooning is ruining the objectives playlist, but there's very little they can do to alter that and it won't be the first time it's happened.

This is where I thought Titanfall remedied this, they added plenty of verticality, fast paced wall running, different perks like being able to shoot while wall running while others would chose a different perk option and not have this ability but have a slightly faster run or longer wall run, it just felt like Titanfall managed to overcome a lot of what 99.9% of other FPS games get stuck on. If someone in Titanfall camped, there was always a way around them, above them, under them that could be found to take them out.

I generally stay away from CTF and most team based online as it always comes down to people going for kills, always.

@acp_45: I'm surprised so many ppl don't understand how teamwork works.

But maybe I'm missing something: These ppl are staying at their own base...killing players that try and get their flag, right?

Does that not fucking sound like defense?

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

Anyways, I think Halo 5 has a separate K/D tracker for slayer, so I'm not sure why kids are still using objective games to boost their stats.

I'm pretty sure in Capture the Flag, the entire team is NOT obligated to run to the other side of the map to get the flag, many people will defend their flag while a small few go collect the other side. That's... normal for CTF.

@Ross_the_Boss6: I don't have time to read through the thread....but if it's not simple defending....then fine.

The way TC explained it it seemed as if he was pissed that ppl were playing flag defense.

What would be a legit way to counter this though? It sounds like next time this happens you could communicate to your team to stay in spawn too? They'd have nobody to kill.

This reminds me of how i cared for KRD... in CS Source.

Unreal did it really well.

Spawns outside of the tower, flag inside the tower.

So for Halo 5:

Either make spawns be random in the center of the map, or remove the choke hole, but the second is hard to do.
