I never played rez, and child of eden has been getting incredible reviews. But it looks like something you can only enjoy if you are already imbiding mind altering substances.

I got a $20 game credit set to expire at the end of the month, was hoping something would manifest itself (i believed in you DNF)... looks like child of eden is the best thing going?

Anyone out there that doesnt partake in recreational drugs actually enjoy this game?

Not to insist that game reviewers are open and enjoying new experiences beyond motion controls. But are there normal gamers out there that havent played rez, and think child of eden is the best release this month?

"Anyone out there that doesnt partake in recreational drugs actually enjoy this game?" Some of the reviewers who have actually played and reviewed don't think so.

Yes. because not everyone wil have the same taste in games as SW. I know its shocking- but there some people out there acutally play games that doesn't involves shooting people, blood and guts, has to have ultra realistic graphics, be made by a certain dev, publisher or come exclusively from MS, Sony or Nintendo.

I also heard that millions of people don't even play games on a PC:shock:

Even now millions of people don't play games on a console:shock:

The guy you may see on bus could be playing something silly like that on their tablet:shock:

The Video games industry is going at it the wrong way when they should be pandering to only a specific group of gamers, and how dare they try to do something different.

this isan examplementatlity that exists in SW.

the idea of a true gamer should be championed, not the wannabe gamers called fanboys.

a True gamer- has no fanatical alliance to a manufacturer, company, or hardware- encourages new people to try games- and doesn't disparage them for their choices.

Understands that gaming is ultimately about fun...In other words opposite to a fanboy.

I think if you're trying to base your purchase on what "normal" gamers like, then it probably isn't for you.

I played and beat the game so I'll give you the gist of it. It's an on-the-rails shooters with lots of musical layering and visuals that equate to something similar to a light show. It's an incredibly visually and aurally stimulating experience. It's biggest drawback is it's length. It takes maybe 90 minutes to play through the single player. However there is a ton of replayability, with lots of unlockable content, hard mode, score and time attacks, and a challenge level that made me want to throw the controller at the screen so good luck with it.

If you value straight length over replayability then you probably won't get much value from it, but it's a really great game that is at the very least worthy of renting.

Child of Eden looks like one of the best games in ages to me, something truly creative, immersive and beautiful. I hope we get more games that leave mainstream gamers scratching their heads because you shouldn't be the only group catered for, and maybe some of them will try something new and realise it doesn't hurt to play something refreshing.

Game looks great to me. I love it when some thing new comes out that is different from everything else. I wish I had an xbox360 to play it. I like the art design and the music fits in so well. Great game. Wish I could play it instead of watching a few youtube videos on it.

Sorry, im very open to new games.... im just having a bit of trouble with this one.

I just watch the videos and scratch my head in confusion. Basically what im wondering is if, wii zelda fans, xbox halo fans, or ps3 uncharted fans have actually enjoyed this game yet?

Its not that the game is bad, its just that ive never played rez.... and its seems SOOO different from what ive played in the past.

I love it, but it probably won't be for everyone. I loved Rez HD so I didn't hesitate to pick this up. Maybe you should start with Rez HD, it's only $10, that way if you don't like it you're not out $50 so you can save up for something else, and if you like Rez HD then you pretty know what to expect from Child of Eden. Or maybe watch some gameplay videos, see if Child of Eden interests you, if it seems like you could like it give it a shot.

It's called art. Mixed with about 2 hours of the sort of music that would be playing in a branch of Topshop, but nonetheless, art.

i've always been interested in rez.. i'm type of person interested in psychedelic media since that's who I am

I played rez back in the day, never finished it... I kind of got it but I felt like something was missing.

I played the first stage of CoE and I dunno.. I thought I'd like it more than rez but it's lacking something with the gameplay, I just don't feel like I'm an active participant. I'd say well there's always the music and visuals but it's really not as good as similar games , it's just like a mess of stuff, barely any rhtyhm or reason. Why is a game that's so up my alley just not appeal to me as much as I'd hoped? Do I need to dig deeper?

Games like this were considered normal on the DC. Still cant believe how much original games we recieved from that little system.

CoE is apparently amazing and if its anything like Rez, i believe that.
