3D graphics on DS have always been crap. I like the look of the old 2D sprites better than ugly 3D models like the ones seen in FF3. Thing is though, they shouldn't be selling this game at full price, 1 new dungeon doesn't justify it. There should be more content in it.

in away you are right, the DS is not a graphical power house but it has done some nice 3D games before for what it can do. True I would prefer they improved the 2D graphics but we will just have to wait and see what they do but while they do that I will just play it on my wii :D.

Everyone who wants it in 3d are idiots. If you really do love chrono then you want it untouched. Why? One of the best games ever made. Why would you want it to look 3d blocky. I guess all you stupid new gamers of today do.

Chrono Trigger should be left alone exact as is. Already a game that is one of the best. Final Fantasy 3 or 6 for the PSX fans came out for the GBA last year and was left alone to, and that was awesome. Why in the hell would i want to see great games ruined by crappy looking 3d blocks.

Turning Chrono 3d is like taking Castlevania and putting that out 3d and thinking it will sell......oh wait nevermind happened already.

Im sorry but FFIII for DS looked like crap. FFIV for DS looks like crap... IF SE are going to make the games 3D then they need to speed them up and make them look atleast as good as the 2D versions... ( seriously the 3D graphics for 3 and 4 felt like downgrades... )

well if you dont like the graphics on III and IV thats your opinion but I really like them and like how IV is going. I do agree though Castlevania should stay 2D as the 3D ones sucked.

Wow...I can't believe people are so anti-2D. 2D games, especially on the DS with limited technical capabilities, can be much better than their 3D counterparts. Take Fire Emblem for example, the 2D games look great and play amazingly well. (I do believe FE:DS is 2D? Which I am thankful for.) I didn't get to play Chrono Trigger back when it came out, so I look forward to the chance to do so.EndlessGame

Perhaps because they recognize the value of 2D games, besides Paper Mario's presentation is nothing to sneeze at, it presents a different way of looking at and playing a game that would otherwise not have a lot going for it. 2D gives another area of variety to the games that are available on the market, which is always good. I purchased TWEWY when it came out, a new and original DS RPG that takes full advantage of all the system's capabilities, to discourage this practice. It's the same price as this Chrono Trigger port.

I just don't see the value proposition here. Why is a port of a 15 year old game so expensive, when other games of its era are being released in compilations, or coming out on VC for $8?

As for the value proposition, you may not see it but others do. As of now it is the only real alternative to paying over the odds for the SNES version

It should also be free from all the problems that plagued the PS1 version

well im not geting it, I shelled out the 60 bux american and such for the game and then i paid 20 for the players guide when it first came out, and then i paid the money for the ps1 remake, Im not gonna purchase another when its not even gonna contain the cut scenes from the ps1 version, and all im geting is a new dungeon.

There doesn't seem to be any evidence that they are going back and doing the visuals at all...

I would have preferred a hi-res smoother 2d game akin to FF1/2 on the PSP rather than a 3D remake, but it seems we aren't getting either.
