Wow does Geurilla really think that ditching the KZ2 vets and appealing more to the COD noobs will sell Killzone 3? Updates on Cillzone of Duty 3

- First Blood

- Killstreaks (you get bonus points)

- Kill pop ups, right in the middle of the screen in Giant letters/ numbers. Distracting your head shots

- Armor

- Extra health

- more????

Here's two low quality screen caps captured with a cellphone?

Text could be a bit smaller, but it honestly doesn't seem like a huge deal to me.

First blood and Pop Ups work fine. Don't most shooters have them? Killstreaks only give points I think. Not power ups or anything that unbalances the game. Armor and Extra Health idk about. I need to know more about them. Don't know how they're more CoD like though. :s

What do you mean extra health and armor? Videos of KZ3 I've been watching, everybody dies very fast. I don't mind the killstreaks.

You always got bonus points in Killzone (Badges). First blood ohhh my COD clone. Hud? Many games use that. Armor? The assault class says hi. Again the assault class.

None of this is new or belongs to COD. Did you just start playing FPS with COD? :?

Also, killstreaks giving you bonus points isn't bad at all, unless team actions don't give points.

Lol. For some reason people seem to think Halo and COD invented the FPS genre... Really, they were both a decade behind.

I believe 'first blood' came from Quake 2 or Unreal Tournament.

lol @ other posters nitpicking TCs comment. Just because other games did it doesnt deny the validiy of TCs main point.

I am astounded that they would seriously add Killstreaks.Let us remember that the fundemental problem ofKillstreaks is that it makes people pay more attention to individual gameplay, playing at a safer pace and diminishes the "take one for the team" mentality as well. Overall it decreases the amount of teamwork. I also have no idea what first blood is doing in a killzone game. Gettingpoints for no reason wasnt the way it was done in KZ2.

You always got points for no reason, they just didn't show you with big letters in the middle of the screen. The killstreaks are point bonuses, probably to balance out the racking up of points with support classes, and first blood is in plenty of games heavy on teamwork.

Besides, there were plenty of people playing for themselves in KZ2 and not for the team.

Not true. First of all, in KZ2, you got points for doing things that invovled teamwork, adding bonuses for how many people you killed in a row is ridiculous and serves no purpose in a game like this. There were also plenty of people who used teamwork in KZ2, and what will dissuade the people even more who didnt work as a team than adding a killstreak?

Most people that play FPS games need to constantly feel like they are being rewarded and that they are doing well so they will have a good time even if they are complete garbage

Trust me, kill bonuses will not ruin the teamwork in this game, and I'm sure the other classes get rewarded for similar things involving abilities. If people just want to run around and get kills, they will in every game they play. They're unavoidable.

Also, remember the medals and ribbons system? Many of those didn't reward teamwork. 8 kills with a pistol in 8 rounds isn't helping your team. I'm also pretty sure there was a one that gave you bonus points in bodycount. The number of bodycount only Radec Servers was ridiculous.

Why are you bringing up such petty arguements against KZ3? Honestly nearly every FPS has these mechanics in them, yet when KZ3 removes the movement lag and a bit of the heavy feeling (Something lemmings always bash KZ2 for), lemmings will say "KZ3 is becoming more casualized lulz !!!111!!1"..Hell, I myself am very excited for that new weapon :D

People like CoD, so maybe it'll make KZ3 more popular with a bigger audience. They should take caution in that copies tend to turn out worst than the originals.

See call of duty 1# 2003 borrowed melee with weapons from halo combat evolved 2001.

that's useful feature.

that's what im talking about, dev's shouldnt be copying everything from another game even useless ****

it's ok to borrow useful features from another game, but straight up trying to be like another game is what is killing the industry.

there wasnt anything wrong with killstreaks in COD4.

it wasnt until mw2 that killstreaks got ridiculous, and the inclusion of death streaks completely ****ed balance of the game up.

there''s no denying they are abandoning the methodical approach of Killzone 2, but these dudes know their stuff, it's going to be good, I'm hyped regardless.

whatever path Killzone 3 chooses to take, I will own the multiplayer hard regardless so I'm good.

Im gonna be honest here, but I actually like the lil HUD pop ups in games :P It gives me a sense of accomplishment. I will admit that MW/MW2 abuse it, as you get sumthing poping up on ur screen every 2 seconds. I swear, there is an award for everything in that game. "ROOOOAAAARR!!! You died 3 times in a row! COOL!!!!" My favorite is in Resistance 2 how you can see the exp tick off everytime u shoot someone. I really like those markers. I understand that it kills the whole "realism" factor, but it makes it more fun for me, and to be honest, Fun > Realism IMO :P

I always found the quest for realism obsessive on here, people care too much about which game has be the most realistic, if it's fun, it's fun, so what if in COD you zip around with pounds of armor and guns, the game is fun as hell, well not MW2.

Just because it was good in unreal tournament and COD doesnt mean that its good for all games. Killzone needs to make sure that they bring idividuality, and innovations of their own, so there can be great alternatives for gamers. Killstreaks bring nothing to the table for teamwork, and is really unnecessary as well. Dont compare minor things like ribbons and medals to what would be a game to game implement with Killstreaks.

Killstreaks for points are fine... killstreaks that give you extra bonuses that keep you killing everything is a problem.

After saying that KZ3 looks so bland... it's just bad.

agreed, games are meant to be fun primarily... alot of time realism can kill the fun.

just imagine playing super mario if he only had a 1.5 foot vertical jump in order to be more realistic... would be a pretty crappy platformer.

although i dont find MW2 fun because of the camping/killstreaks... but the gunplay isnt half bad. Quake 2 was probably my favorite fps... and there wasnt anything remotely real about it.

Although that is true, please remember that KZ is a different type of game, and one of the best parts about the game is the realism.
