the next ideal kinect set up will require users to be completely nude. u know so it can umm simulate your complete skeleton make up without any errors.
i just watched the "how to set up kinect" video on xbox live, and they spend more time talking about what it can't do than what it can. it's one of the WORST advertisements i have EVER seen. If they are openly saying "if the lighting isnt even, we cant track you" that means there are HUGE problems, otherwise they would have never mentioned it. I seem to recall hearing, in the begining of all this, that kinect didn't need much light because of the camera types involved.. now theyre saying you need perfect even lighting? that's almost impossible for most people in their homes. kinect = MASSIVE FAIL PS: Im hoping it does, then i can get one for $20 at Ebgames and just use it for voice control(which is the only interesting feature this product has)
also, the idea of having the camera motorized is AWFUL. We all know what microsofts hardware history has been with the xbox360.. I am seeing into the future, and there are MANY people getting the TMIBANKWWoD(the motor is broken and now kinect won't work... of Death)

So... it doesn't detect more than two people at once, you have to be a certain distance form the screen, it can't be on top of something noisy, you can't have thick facial hair, it doesn't detect finger movement, your area has to be clean around the Kinect, and there is very noticeable lag.
Really, how can anyone think Kinect will not massively flop?

It won't because Microsoft already managed to hype this thing to heaven using smoke and mirrors. People are just going to buy it by the thousands and realize it sucks but by that moment Microsoft would be annoucing Kinect Slim which fixes all the problems, according to them, and the cycle perpetuates until MS is twice as rich as before by selling crap. MS is actually very simple to read.

150 bucks and it seems you need to have some perfectly conditioned room for this expensive add-on to even work properly, one thing wrong and it messes up the experience.
