clearly gears beats uncharted graphically.

just beat uncharted last night. after playing both gears of war 1 really does still look better. i believed the hype. but it is pure fanboy bs. even mass effect beats it. and call of duty 4. this is just keeping it real. the truth is my 360 has something about the graphics that just look better. i do use vga for the 360 and hdmj for my ps3 but the 360 is winning in graphics thus far. my opinion.akuma303x

No, that's not what he means ha ha. just worded real. it's probably a Nvidia/ATI comparison. some things just look better to some people. I personally think gears looks better myself, but I usually think that the 360 looks better because somewhere inside, even though I only got my ps3 for FF (which I thought would be out in 08 when I got it), my mind may "want" it to. just like sony fans "want" uncharted to be the best. we always look at what we want to lol I wish more fanboys could realize that

As a owner of both, I think Uncharted is a fantastic looking game -- better than Gears of War.

Unreal Tournament 3 is Epics current showcase game and is graphically superior to Gears and Uncharted is better than that.

Mark Rein has said himself UT3 has bigger environments, more characters onscreen, more polygons, more explosions, more of just about everything.

Uncharted and Bioshock are the new bench level of graphics. Sorry gears.

They both have very good graphics, but Uncharted is graphically superior. Like some others said, it has the best graphics of any console game.

I have both. Gears was a beast and its hard to compare its post apocalyptic look to Uncharteds bright colorful jungles but Uncharted does indeed beat it. Character animations, the amount of detail that you see in every level is staggering. The lush jungles that seem to go on forever. The beautiful views you get when your on high ground to the open seas. The dark caverns are a sight to behold. I think a few 360 games have surpassed gears already as well.

I have not played the full game of Uncharted only the demo, but in comparison to the demo, Gears and Mass Effect do look better in some areas. but in others worse.

Uncharted does look amazing though, id take it on faith overall it probably does look better than Gear, ME, Bioshock ect.

1. Uncharted

2. Unreal Tournament 3 (Which is coming to 360 soon, so don't call me a fanboy.)

3. Gears of War

There are several other games that look fantastic but these are the ones with insane detail that just destroy everything else on a console right now.

BTW, if you want to argue to me about UT3 being number 2, you haven't played it yet. And if you have, probably not on an HDTV. It looks as good as Gears and it's running 10x faster. I messed around with the setting one time in the options menu and they have a darkness level for it. I turned it all the way down and guess what the game looked like...

Basically this sums it up.

Unchartered looks like a cell shaded game, there is no comparing to a GOTY title like Gears! -A lem whose name i forgot.

Ok in my opinion(i have played both), while gears has better textures, overall Unchartered has better graphics, it has superior lighting, enviroments are larger and it has better shader technology(though the shader in gears looks suerior because of its gritty settings). Also, it has more enemies on screen and better loking animations and explosions, and thats because its overall a better graphic engine and the uncompressed textures really help. But GeOW is definately a better game and way more fun(and all the cow's crying wont change that). Also uncharterd can definately be done on the 360, just needs more work on compression.

I disagree, but Gears has MUCH better gameplay imo.

whilgears of war definitly looks amazing.....it honestly doesnt match up to uncharted's amazing environments, animations, and physics....maybe gears two will beat up nathan drakes face...till then no way
