I can see from an "ART" prospective how you might like Gears over Uncharted. But all else, you are wasting your time. Uncharted has No load times with its better graphics on top of things. And when you said Call of Duty 4 looked better, I sorta laughed in side. Your Gamespot opinion credit score is dipping.

Call of Duty 4 graphics is like Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3 graphics. lots of bad textures mixed togather turning out really good. Yes, COD4 is awesome when dust, smoke and all things are going on. But when nothings happening its just bland at best with only cool character models. Uncharted >>>>>>> COD4. Uncharted >> Gears. Graphics wise.

But yea I love Cod4, I'm selling Resistance because I love playing it so much.

Unreal Tournament 3 is Epics current showcase game and is graphically superior to Gears and Uncharted is better than that.

Mark Rein has said himself UT3 has bigger environments, more characters onscreen, more polygons, more explosions, more of just about everything.

the two gpus are very competitive.and since atm not many developers are getting in to the multi thread programs the games will look prety similar.however its likely the X360 will lead ahead once they get in.PS3s spe can only carry specific types of data.while X360 can handle any.

I did however think that Uncharted was a hell of alot of fun, and would like to see more of the platforming in the game. I plan to pick it up this Friday. I need a good game for my PS3 that I havent played before. ( currently I only own Oblivion and Burnout)

I'm glad you brought this up. I've played the Stranglehold demo on the PS3, and it looks identical to the actual game, so does anyone know how Uncharted compares graphically to its demo? All I've played through is the Uncharted demo, and if the graphics are the same, all this "superiority" to Gears is absolute bull. The Uncharted demo looks great (lots of bright colors, good textures, etc.), but throw Gears in the tropics, and I think it would look better; Uncharted didn't blow me away from a texture standpoint the way Gears did. But again, it was only a demo...

I think he just enjoys Gears more and the same with you. So the fact that your enjoying the game so much blinds you to the fact that another games does look better then it.

As an owner and huge fans of both games, I have to say Uncharted pretty muchblows Gears away in everything besides character models.

I don't think Uncharted looks better. I think people say this because of the setting of Uncharted being a place that is beautiful but the story of Gears calls for a war-torn apocalyptic future and it is not supposed to look beautiful. It does however look much more detailed.

For example there is a part in Gears where the vehicle breaks down in the forrest at night in a torrential downpour. Uncharted looks awesome, however, nothing in that game impressed me as much as that part in Gears with the headlights illuminating water running off of everything. Amazing. The lighting in Gears hands down beats Uncharted.

Anybody else feels Uncharted looks a little cartoonish?

Also didn't the creator of Gears come out and say that Gears could not be done on PS3 due to video mem limitations?

Beyond the superficial aspect of how the game looks though, Gears is ten times better overall anyways. Gears would still be AAA if it came out today and with its total lack of everything Uncharted is lucky to be AA. I mean 8 hour single player over just says "rental" to me.

True but the fact that it has a very robust and entertaining Co-Op mode made me play through the game like six times because my friends all wanted to try and it was still fun each time. The co-op alone makes it replayable. So you don't like MP, I love it and so do many thousands others. that's just a matter of opinion. Besides a MP that is only recieved well by half the people is still miles better then no co-op at all.

GEEZ MAN ARE STATIC, SEMI 3D BACKDROPS THE ONLY THING THIS GAME HAS?

OMG YOU ONLY NEEDED ONE SCREENSHOT OF A BACKDROP I GET THE PICTURE

YOU REALIZE THAT BACKDROPS ARE A STEP BELLOW CGI WHEN IT COMES TO JUDGING A GAME'S GRAPHICS, RIGHT?

YOU DON'T NEED AN AMAZING CONSOLE TO MAKE GOOD LOOKING BACKDROPS. HALO2 HAD A TON OF THEM THAT LOOKED NOT MUCH DIFFERENT.

ONCE AGAIN NOTHING HERE LOOKS REALLY IMPRESSIVE EXCEPT THE SHADOWS. GEARS STILL HAS BETTER LIGHTING THOUGH.

OH C'MON EVERYONE KNOWS THESE ARE CUTSCENES. GEEZ HAVE ANY AMAZING IN GAME STUFF TO SHOW OR IS IT JUST CUTSCENES AND BACKDROPS?

AND YOU PULL OUT CUTSCENES FOR THE CHARACTER MODELS?

SONY TRIES FOOLING PEOPLE BY SHOWING CUTSCENES ( KILLZONE 2). I GUESS THE FANS DO TOO.

PS2 HAD CUTSCENES THAT LOOKED JUST AS GOOD. AM I IMPRESSED NO.

BOTTOM LINE IS GEARS HAS IN GAME GRAPHICS AND DETAILS THAT ARE ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT UNCHARTED HAS.

NOT TO MENTION THE GAME BEATS IT IN EVERY OTHER DEPT.

WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT UNCHARTED. 8 HOUR SINGLE PLAYER ONLY? THIS GAME IS NOT EVEN WORTH BUYING. RENT IT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD AND ITS DONE FOR GOOD.

I hope he notices that the character models in the cutscenes are pretty much the same in game. Its just sad he wont admit that uncharted is a better looking game. Also yea its an 8hr game,but if your not that good it could take longer. THe most gears has is a extra 1hr. 2hrs pushing it which can be also done in a rental. So whats your point? Like I said before the MP is the only reason gears has been given a higher score. Even when its not at a scene with a backdrop it still looks better then gears.

Its been stated everywhere that Uncharted is the best looking game on a home system. WHy do you choose to fight it. Also im pretty sure your seeing it from a multiplat view.

It's also been stated that Gears would not work on the PS3 because of hardware limitations? Who will you believe? Personally I beleive myself because Ive played both games a lot and Gears impressed me much more although everyone has to admit Uncharted looks really good.

Beyond the superficial aspect of how the game looks though, Gears is ten times better overall anyways. Gears would still be AAA if it came out today and with its total lack of everything Uncharted is lucky to be AA. I mean 8 hour single player over just says "rental" to me.

Gears is also a short game dude. Also when it comes to characters and story Uncharted just blows gears away. If uncharted had MP i think it would have gotten a 9 or up in GS. The only reason gears got in the 9 was because of multiplayer(it would have gotten a 8. something if it didint have MP). I'm sorry I own gears and I rather would have borrowed or rent the game. Since the MP is meh.

True but the fact that it has a very robust and entertaining Co-Op mode made me play through the game like six times because my friends all wanted to try and it was still fun each time. The co-op alone makes it replayable. So you don't like MP, I love it and so do many thousands others. that's just a matter of opinion. Besides a MP that is only recieved well by half the people is still miles better then no co-op at all.

Ok so since you wanna play the games over with friends it automaticly makes it a longer and better game. Please dude give me a break. I didint want to replay with my friends. Mainly since I didint enjoy my first time around with the game.
