The cheapest one, which is a hard copy most of the time. If they're all the same price then I'd take a hard copy, because it has the most value.

I generally prefer hard copies, but for most games, I don't really mind DD. Whatever ends up being the cheapest.

For any game that I simply must have, Hard Copy FTW. Especially if there's a particularly good collector's edition.

I prefer hard copy but I will use digital if there is no other way of acquiring said game like F2P games for example generally don't have hard copies.

[QUOTE="edidili"][QUOTE="dontshackzmii"]

I dont see why anyone would want to get less for the same price. get the hard copy!

Tikeio

Getting a hard copy is less. The game you paid can get lost or damaged. It's vulnerable.

Technically true, though. I remember my hard copy of the Sims 3 just got pummeled and beaten to a pulp when it accidentally slid under my computer. It was snapped in half! I still prefer hard copies but there is no denying that hard copies with very bad protection can be easily destroyed.

Hard copy, but most of my pc games are digital. That's just because it's more convenient to update them if they're digital.

As a collector, hard copy all day, every day. I like the option to install ala 360 but even my PC games I own the hard copy for.

Lemme see.

I prefer DD, mostly since the sales someone is able to make with DD far surpasses Physical, since they can take a much bigger hit, and still make money. I also like how I can pretty much access my games anywhere I wish. I do not like how they can potentially vanish. I like that I can alter, fix, and mess around with the games as I like

I like Physical, but not my preferred, due to two parts, 1. After a few hundred games you'd begin to be annoyied with the boxes (and I ain't someone who like to leave them laying around). I like how I can lend them to friends, I do not like it that they can get damaged and broken. (some Discs pretty much dissolves themselves over time). Since I am against used games (unless they are out of production games), that is a non advantage for me. I like how I can mess around with, alter, fix the games as I like. (On PC) and can play them offline with no problems at all (console).

I like the Idea ofCloud streaming, but the net connections needs to be WAY better then they arenow. I do NOT like how I have no influence over those games (no mods, no alterations and so on, atleast greatly reduced). They can potentially vanish like the DD games, but you DOhave complete control over your games, and can play them offline, onlike Cloud games :S

So basicly I prefer DD, after that I take Physical, andCloud is last.

Cloud gaming is interesting, there's no installing games or anything. But then again you don't own the games..

I guess DD.

tjricardo089
You don't really own the games with DD either. If you own something you can sell it try selling your Steam account and see what happens.

I don't really mind but i do like knowing my DD games can simply be zipped down a copper cable to me if i ever break the disk or reinstall windows. You only get one hard copy to last you forever, at least DD bags you unlimited reinstalls assuming you don't mind customer support for more than 5 activations.

I only prefer digital on PC. For me, it's usually cheaper, I can download the game in 15 - 30 minutes, and it saves trips to the store. In that case, it's either buy the code, or download the same code and back it up. I usually go with which store has the game cheaper at the time, be it physical or digital.

Unless it's not possible and I really want the game, I don't like buying digital off of consoles. It's usually only the PSN games I would buy. Everything else is hard copy or bust.

Cloud is good as a rental service, but you don't have any access to the data at all. I can't see myself buying games at full price to "own" it play off cloud though. (I know there are rental payments).

Digital Distro has the same problems as Hard Copy, in terms of getting it working, Cloud gaming (on-live) the game has less of the teething problems that some games have, but, who owns it, not you. WHat I don't like about either Cloud or DD is, as can happen, companies go under, what rights as a consumer do you have. You can backup your games on steam, but unless you can connect to steam you can't really play the games. They have an offline mode for a while. But it still provides you with no protection. At least with HC (and non-multi-player games) I can still play them.

Because some of us actually care about the planet and would rather have a eco friendly digital copy of a game rather than a hard copy which uses plastics, paper and other manufacturing processes that harm the planet. Sorry you don't care about Earth but the way I see it were a few centuries off from having warp drive so we better treat this planet right because we're going to be stuck here for awhile.

Which do you prefer? Personally I don't understand why someone would pay money for a game and not actually own the hard copy. Makes no sense to me. It can be played offline. It can be brought to a friends house. You can save it as a collectors item. I would never want the industry to go full DD or Cloud. What are your thoughts?RyanShazam

Digital copies can be both played offline and brought to a friends house.

DD>>Hard Copy>>Cloud.

Hard Copy, you can use it in multiple consoles, it comes with that manual, it makes your collection look bigger, usually takes up less space.

Hard copies, definitely. I miss cracking open boxes and seeing the shiny disc(s) and game manual. :(

Having DD games is no different than having a DD music library. No one buys CDs anymore.

Tie between Digital Distribution and Hard Copy

Buying the digital copy is usually easier, though I personally find that installing retail games is faster than waiting for a download

Of course if all things being equal, HC for sure but obviously, all things won't be equal and an individual consumer will need to decide if they would like to get a game cheaper and if it's worth the savings to just opt for DD or splurge for the whole HC package.
