Not bad at all. I know a few friends who picked a 360 up this holiday so far.
With the Wii so hard to find at retail, I wouldn't doubt some parents will just opt for the 360 as time til X-mas winds down, as well.
These are U.S numbers correct?BlackbondYeah including the Black Friday numbers, the biggest shopping day of the year.
[QUOTE="pins_basic"]How much did the Wii do? PS3 too if you have the numbers.Jandurin
wii did 350k, i believe
Wow, I didn't expect it to be that close.I think the more impressive news is that 360 software accounted for 54% of software sales in October :oJocktheMotieand this is why games like DMC4, RE5, Ace Combat, Beatuiful Kamatari, etc that were Playstation brand staples are now available on the Xbox platform.

Told you vg charts was right:)

VGChartz also said that the Wii sold 420,000 systems: 70,000 more than they actually sold. VGChartz was wrong.

Why do we have 2 threads on this topic? Oh well, Good for M$, if accurate. M$ reporting their own numbers would be better though.

Look at you spreading lies. The biggest shopping day of the year is not Black Friday anymore. Hasn't been for a few years. Its now the Saturday before Christmas, as people get better at procrastination.

This time it is. They once shaved 800,000 units off the wii sales. They just guess. This time they got it right.
VGChartz was only right about 360 sales.
They were off by 40,000 units on DS sales, and off by 70,000 units on Wii sales.

It's called the Phone Call method.
They call the stores in their area and ask how many they've sold. Then they "extrapolate" (guess) based on what they find.
To be fair, NPD does the same thing. Except NPD does it for over 60% of all retailers, and they run controlled surveys involving thousands of buyers to compensate for the 40% of retailers they do miss.
[QUOTE="TMontana1004"]Amazing -- good job MS...and how many has the PS3 sold?SolidTy
IF you are a fan of Spyro, why haven't you played the Ratchet games? The gameplay is awesome... Insomniac rules.
Kinda off topic -- I haven't played any of the Ratchet games because the first console I owned was a PS, but then I was swayed by Halo to buy an Xbox so I never had the chance. It's good platformers like the classic Spyro's what this market really needs.

Oh, that's a shame. The PS2 by far had the most Platformers/Adventure type games on it, that shouldn't have been missed by fans like youself. Classics like : Ratchet Series, Sly Series, Jak series, ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and Okami. Other greats too, but Ratchet's the most up your alley due to your love of Spyro (The Spyro creators outdid themselves.). ON Xbox, I loved two : Psychonauts (Also on PS2), Metal Arms (Also on PS2) and Oddworld : Stranger's (Good Exclusive).
Still, M$ really should make more of those (or have them made for them) if they want to sway that part of the market. Then again, they are selling well, maybe they don't really need to worry about it. The more great shooters, the more sales, apparently.

I guess I did miss out, but I'm glad I stuck with MS. I'd be pretty happy if we got a few good platformers. Banjo-Kazooie should be great, but hopefully that isn't the game that MS plans to axe.
