That's what generally happens with wildly popular products, y'know. The PS2 only started to slow down after the PS3 and Wii came out. Remember that it was still outselling the 360 during the 360's first year.

To be more specific, businesses like Windows XP. They like it so much that they are sticking with it and basically gave Windows Vista the finger.

Seems plausible and i'll explain why:

1 -360's sales are steadily decreasing since the beginning of 2007. Even the Halo 3 momentum didn't help them avoid a decrease of almost 20% in sales compared with 2006.

2- PS3 sales are steadily increasing since half of 2007. There are more and more games coming out and being announced for it, so after winning HD-DVD, Sony started focusing on it as a videogame console instead of a primarily BD player. This will push sales a lot in the long run as the games come out (and they already are).

3- There are three forces pushing the PS3's sales numbers up: people seeking it for the games, people that's buying HDTVs (HDTV sales are increasing greatly, also, Sony is doing a better job at marketing it's console as the TrueHD experience over the competition) and people seeking it for the Blu-ray player. All 3 forces are increasing independently to each other or not.

4- The Wii will not stop selling, but most Wii owners will eventually buy another console. They already paid little for their console, so why not buy a $250-300 bucks PS3 or 360 in the not-so-long future? That's another reason i think PS3 numbers can go that high, there is a lot of people, i repeat, a lot, that's afraid of buying a 360 due to it's hardware issues. Also, the casual audience may eventually want to experience watching BD movies, and why not play some games with the same machine that plays those movies?

Anyway, that's just my point of view...

This is one of the biggest BS charts I've ever seen. The 360 if it gets fixed this fall like MS is saying you can bet sales are going to climb in late 2008 and keep climbing into 2010. Also keep in mind the 360 is always going to be cheaper then the PS3.

the biggest games last generation by far was the 3 GTA games, if GTA4 didn't magically quadruple console sales so far, I fail to see how FF etc can magically quadruple PS3 sales next year.

Meh, I don't see the PS3 selling 1.2million consoles per month in 2009/2010. It's possible, just very inprobable.

They'd have to lower the price to around 200 - $250 as well as have a great line up of games to attract gamers.

I did get BSOD's with Vista daily. You know why? Incompatibility (OMG SURPRISE!). My D-Link N adaptor didnt work with Vista and MS told me it was USER ERROR. Oh, but get this. The MS REP tells me to go on the INTERNET and DL the driver for it because "MS no longer releases drivers". Funny part is, I CANT GET ON THE INTERNET, Now can I?

And apparantly you can't ******* read. I HAVE TO USE THE OS FOR MY CHOICE OF HOBBY. ALSO, I do internet learning and some of the SOFTWARE is INCOMPATIBLE with Mac or Linux.

So learn to read.

Vista will get better in time much like 98 and XP. I'm holding off on Vista till it gets more reliable. I made a mistake getting XP early and XP is great right now.

Complete BS, on just about every level. I honestly don't see any of the consoles, especially the PS3 selling 30+ million in the next few years. And there is no way the 360 will do that badly. It would have to sell less than 5 million every year to end up with those kind of numbers. I don't think the chart itself is biased, but it is ignorant and rather hard to believe.
