COD 4 PC sold 1.4 Million in RETAIL SALES, (Not counting Steam or D2D)

Many PC games sale millions but most of it isn't recorded.

According to MS there are 263 MILLION PC GAMERS (there talking about hardcore gamers) which is alot more than consoles

15 Million Steam users with a 168% growth in 1 YEAR

Xfire approaching 10 Million

PC games sell for a MUCH longer time than console gamers, PC gamers still play games from the past because there is alot of replayability in them and even now.

Nvidia and Ati's graphic cards are both outselling every console which says alot about how PC is doing.

All I see is consoles dieing because there becoming cheap watered down PC's that can't do HD or be upgraded. Basically there uselss.

PC is the best and will always be the best.

i like consoles better but pc stil is good. i like console beucase they are much more user friendly .i much rather play on my tv as well . i like a controller 2 deadmeat59

Well you can connect your PC to a TV and M$ is making quite a few PC devs integrate thier controller directly into thier games. Infact.. any game with *Games for windows logo* will use a x360 controller flawlessly. I wonder if we are going to see more co-op/split screen PC games in the future? :P

i think its hard to compare numbers between consoles and pcs its a totally different market i mean like out of everyone in the world who has pcs like 99.9% and how many own consoles. All im trying to say is it cant really be compared when there is only like 20 mil 360s out there and cod4 sells 2 or 3 mil thats impressive now when it does 1 mil on pc out of like however million pc owners there are it has to be looked at different maybe im wrong but thats how i feel.

I'd also like to point out that Activision does not have to pay royalty fees on the PC version. That means more money per copy than any of the console versions.

There are more games on PC to buy than COD 4, unlike consoles where it was either Halo 3 or COD 4

PC has FULL BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY so ppl buy what ever they want to play, cuz there is still an online community there, where as on consoles old games are dead

I totally believe it and personally I think PC > consoles. The only problem is a) none of my friends play PC so 360 was bought mainly for social reasons and b) I love Nintendo, so I had to buy a Wii :Pkayn83

IT SOLD 1.4 MILLION RETAIL. That means RETAIL. There is also digital distribution. That means that it sold more than 1.4 million because you can buy the game digitally. Why can't anyone read around here?

the gefore range is useless for animation etc, there is the nVidia Quadro for that, basicly gefore sales = for gaming find me a workstation that has a 8800gt in it and a athlon x2, as it will have an Opteron

divde that number by around 2-4 and you get 1.5 - 750k so you point? digital distrubution = 50-75% of pc game sales

yes i would really like that link that shows that retail copies of pc games only account for 25% of sales, because D2D is digital distribution and last i checked cows considered DD to be only viable 3-4 gens from now, as for that most casuals aren't gonna use steam or d2d they're gonna buy it in the store.

Computers are the best setup for DD personally :| All my games are now DD on the PC.

People seem to be forgetting that there were more High Profile shooters released on the PC last year than the consoles aswell ... 2o fwhich the 360 is still yet to recieve.....

and you probably have a decent computer? something most casuals dont have, d2d stuff is still in the realm of hard cores on the pc, its much more accepted digital content on consoles when it comes to casuals which is why XBLA and Wii's retro games sell so highly.

The TC has yet to provide a link proving any thing he's said and impawar has yet to provide a link that retail sales only account for 25% of pc game sales.
