And MS is paying them to say that?
Otherwise there'd be ZERO reason for them to say it in the first place... Unless of course they actually are having problems bringing Elite to the PS3...
I'm sure it is, Luckily Activision is hard-working and really loves their fans so I think they'll figure it out. Go Activision. :)
not something i would pay for anywaycoltgamesMost of it is free. You don't have to pay for it anyways.
[QUOTE="UCF_Knight"][QUOTE="coltgames"]not something i would pay for anywaycoltgamesMost of it is free. You don't have to pay for it anyways. whats most? Everything they've announced. The only reason to pay, so far, is if you want subscription based content. ie. map packs and anything else they offer DLC wise.

Stat tracking, leaderboards, etc. The only thing you "can" pay for includes something about DLC and a few unannounced stuff. (I think.)

I don't think this is all of the free features, but:
For the benefit of everyone, everything shown in this video is free.
Of which includes:
- Unparalleled stat tracking. We all know Blops has a bunch of stats. More than any shooter I believe.
- Change your in game loadout on the go from your cell phone, ipad, laptop.
- Compare your stats to the world, your region, your city, or neighborhood.
- Individualized, custom leaderboard tracker.
- Extensive map breakdowns. Check stats on the most recent maps you played like hot spots.
- Theater mode is online. Highlights and staff picks blah blah. Premium content later. Maybe some shows.
- Videos on weapon and perk strategies. Feature to help improve your game.
- "Compete" feature that allows you to play in tournaments and objectives against other players in the world, in order to win virtual and real prizes, like a Jeep.
- "Connect" allows you to find like minded players to play with. Create groups. Message boards.
- Facebook integration like Uncharted 3.
- ClansTREAL_Since
Thanks Treal. :P
cant u all ready do that? nowcoltgamesUm, no.. The current online service doesn't have nearly the amount of features as Elite.
so what are u paying for then if all thats free?coltgamesI already told you. >.>

Where did I say MS was paying them...With Activision and their crappy ports of COD on PS3...You think I believe for secondthey're having a hard time bringing elite over?...They're just being lazy I won't be surprised if they say how they have canceled the Elite beta for PS3...And how PS3 owners have to wait until MW3 comes out to see how Elite is...
I've been noticing a pattern with activision and microsoft from sometime now. Looking back they announced a Exclusive deal stating that DLC for cod would be a timed exclusive on the 360,But i don't think that was the only agreement made. Was I the only one that found abit odd that after this deal is made the PC/ps3 versions of BO are released buggy and in some cases unplayble due to terrible stuttering and framerate issues while the 360 version ran fine? I mean it's not like this was an small isolated issue..it was wide spread and it took days to even get an official statement and weeks to start getting some patches done.

I don't think this is all of the free features, but:
NOT ANNOUNCED.
Not even all the free features are announced.
Elite, as a whole, will destroy Steam and any online service we've seen yet.

I was following the PC side of things..it was a nightmare.Elite will destroy steam? do you even know what steam is?lawlessx
Wait until the full reveal before you make any judgements, imo.
Development challenge? lol. RAGE is a development challenge. Using a decade old engine, having tons of money to make what you want, and having the ability to make any set piece/story you want (with the only requirement is it being a CoD, Michael Bay set piece/story) isn't a development challenge. It really takes them 2 years to make a slightly upgraded sequel? We see many games take huge leaps forward in 2 years (ex: Infamous to Infamous 2), so what exactly do these devs do for 2 years? Because if there are any notable improvements, I'm not seeing it.
You know what they say, if youre going to do something...do it with a DON :P so stop complaining IW :x

:P comparing a digital download service to stats and statistics.
And halo had most of that before, even BF did.

I just can't imagine a developer intentionally crippling versions of their games that go on to sell 10+ million copies (PC + PS3 versions).
Do they want to lose those 10+ million customers? That sounds good for business...
If anything they're kissing butt by NOT mentioning the 360. I'm sure if they're having any problems with the PS3 they're going to have some with the 360 as well. It's just nature, 2 consoles similar in horsepower are going to both have similar problems. However, saying something negative about the 360 would be bad business for Activision with all of the timed-exclusive/sponsor contracts Microsoft feeds them all the time. I don't think I've ever seen Activision say one thing negative about Microsoft or the 360 and I'm pretty sure that's why.Where do you get the idea that they're kissing MS's butt from that article?

Well they did and PS3 and PC ver.suffered that hit. While I rearly heard about problems on the 360.
I suppose that confirms that CoD: Elite is a port.
Word of advice: It would'nt be so complex if it was built for the system, rather than ported.
Edit: And the Fact the CoD is Marketed as more or less 360 exclusive does'nt help their case imho.....
How about not porting your code?
I don't believe Acti since they hae a deal with MS.Anyway Elite won't destroy Steam.

Steam and Elite are not in direct competition for one another to begin with..

Xbox Live and PSN are two completely different online structures. As far as I know, MS has always allowed developers and even web hosts access to indepth Xbox Live game stats tracking, something Sony is not as well known for.For example:http://www.1up.com/news/bioware-details-mass-effect-2-stats

I was answering what that extreme COD fanboy DangerousLiquid said.
If i pay for this service will i be able to upload more than 30 second videos to youtube? if they allow that i'll pay and not get that HD PVR ( at least not this year ). anyone know?
Why all of a sudden do they do this now? They didn't have any issues in the past, but all of a sudden it's now? Naughty Dog, Konami, and most Multiplat Devs don't have problems like this. So why all ofa sudden?
Of course both systems have different abiltiles but the differences in 90% of multiplats are so small and insignificant that they are unoticable. My guess is that Activision is just being lazy or got another deal with MS not to release it yet. I mean there have been ALOT of betas on PSN like AC Brotherhood, Uncharted 3 ect... and AC Revelations is having a Beta on PSN pretty soon too at the same time as their AC Revelations beta on Xbox Live, and they don't seem to be having any issues.
