It was only a matter of time. Once people experienced the godsend that was Battlefield 3 they saw CoD for the turd it is.
Saying that I am getting bored of BF games they are all modern shooters now. BF2 modern, BF3 modern and BF4 modern. The best BF game of the last gerneration for me was BFBC2 but that's because it had character and wasn't the same boring thing. I wan't to see BF go back to WWII or Vietnam in a full game I think that would be bad ass. IMO there is something more brutal then a WWII BF game in my head at least. Tanks weren't electronic and the planes didn't have all these counter measures and to shoot them down you aimed with anti air. Now though in BF3 you see a plane look at it with your rocket launcher, fire the rocket and the other player fires counter measures and it repeats...BORING!!! Some of the most fun with BF for me is their BF 1943 when it's skill of the pilot that saved his ass or skill of the shoot from the guy firing that killed him...that's what I want and not going to be interested in Call Of Duty OR BF until they move away from modern shooters at least for one game.It was only a matter of time. Once people experienced the godsend that was Battlefield 3 they saw CoD for the turd it is.

I don't think they're sick of it, yet. I am 100% sure it will sell great and better than the vast majority of games on the market.

It won't go away overnight but I bet GTA V outsells it overall and Battlefield 4 outsells it on next gen consoles.Â
Oh GTA V will definitely outsell it overall. Maybe BF4; I don't know much about those games.
BF series has like 10% of the marketshare. It would be quite a turnaround if it were to outsell COD. I wouldn't mind, though. Activision has no standards, so I would prefer even EA to get the money instead of them.I don't think they're sick of it, yet. This, people may still be waiting to hear prices and decide which console they are getting it on.
Give it time.
Me? I still have not decided if I'll get it before BF, still waiting for more info and online gameplay demos.

Looks like people are finally sick of COD.

I doubt it.
They havent started the big advertising for it yet. I havent seen a single commercial on tv for it yet or really seen a lot of advertising for it yet. Quite a few people are also probablly unsure so far on where it will be and where they will buy it since new systems launch this year about the same time as well.
http://www.joystiq.com/2013/08/02/cod-ghosts-pre-orders-negatively-impacted-by-console-transition/
The upcoming transition into a new generation of consoles is futzing with pre-order numbers for Call of Duty: Ghosts, according to CEO of Activision Publishing, Eric Hirshberg. During his company's earnings call yesterday, Hirshberg noted that pre-orders for Ghosts are "well below the record-setting pace set by Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 last year," and that the impending arrival of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are to blame. "Our quantitative consumer research indicates that hesitation amongst past COD pre-orderers is primarily due to not knowing which platform they will be playing on, which is natural at this time in the console transition," he said. Despite the lower pre-order numbers, Hirshberg noted that "other key engagement metrics," such as the number of people playing per month and per day, the amount of DLC sales and community engagement, are all higher than previous years. He also added that pre-orders are more than double that of the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, which was last time Activision introduced a new Call of Duty sub-brand. Activision isn't the first publisher to cite next-gen consoles for lower pre-order numbers. EA Sports brand president Peter Moore recently made similar statements, reporting "softness" in pre-orders for current-gen sports titles as we get closer to the launch of the PS4 and Xbox One.
Could be a lot of people realize that the devs who made the turd that was MW3 are also making ghosts while Treyarch who are actually competent are making the Black Ops games.Â
yea Mw3 MP was terrible only enjoy infection game mode and black ops 2 decent but black op was better.Could be a lot of people realize that the devs who made the turd that was MW3 are also making ghosts while Treyarch who are actually competent are making the Black Ops games.Â

I wish. Â I wouldn't be surprised if the fact that it looks incredibly lame visually compared to the next gen stuff coming out (BF4 blows it away) has a lot to do with it - that's probably too much even for the CoD obsessed to ignore. Â Still, I'd be pleasantly surprised if people finally realized the series isn't all that.
The thing with them showing the dog off also strikes me as lame move that just screams "we're out of any legitimately good ideas to hide the fact that we're putting out the same game again so here's this dog". Â I've seen alot of games do this "for instant companionship just add dog" thing and its gotten quite old. Â I'm reminded of Fable 2 and Peter Molyneux all over again. Â
You know what's better than a dog in a game? Â Well written human characters. Â A good example of that was DA:O with its mabari dog - which wasn't a bad party member in itself except that having it in your party meant that it was one less humanoid character that actually had interesting things to say that you could travel with at the time.Â
No, people are not sick of COD. It's just that there's these two things called Xbox One and Playstation 4 coming out around the same time, and people are therefore focused on those two. It's taken up a lot of COD's "space" in the gamer's mind, along with such a massive title as GTA V. 001011000101101

You really think people aren't sick of COD? You may not like it but gamers are moving on.
Very important facts are being overlooked. Its a new COD sub brand instead of MW 4 and many gamers may be holding off on preordering since they dont know whether they will play on a current or next gen system.
"However, our quantitative consumer research indicates that hesitation amongst past [Call of Duty] preorderers is primarily due to not knowing which platform they will be playing on, which is natural at this time in the console transition," Hirshberg said.
He pointed out that Call of Duty: Ghosts preorders are double those of the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, which was the last time Activision launched a Call of Duty sub-brand. In addition, he said other "key engagement metrics," like the number of monthly and daily Call of Duty players, as well as downloadable content sales and video views are "significantly" ahead of past years.
What's more, Hirshberg said Activision will support Call of Duty: Ghosts with the most aggressive marketing plan in the history of the Call of Duty franchise.
I can't wait for COD to die off.
I don't know how people year, after year fork out for that crap.
Maybe it will force Activision to come up with a new game to milk.
What is to be gained from a game failing? Every gen has its trend. Platformers...fighting games...there's always the market leader and copy cats behind them. If you think this won't be replaced with another trend that will annoy you then you're kidding yourself. COD games can exist peacefully with other genres.I can't wait for COD to die off.
