Also there is barely any difference between the games.
They did nerf V-13 though.

[QUOTE="Metroid_Other_M"]the point is that pc gamers keep comparing pc's to the "crappy-outdated" consoles and to me it's not a fair comparison. that's it. games can be compared yes, but stating Pc gaming > console gaming is still an opinion, unless you're talking about hardware, which again it does not make any sense to compare an upgradable paltform with othere that are not. skrat_01How is it all an opinion? X game is better on the PC as users can create their own content and expand from what is there; this increases the re playability of the game, adds depth and fixes former issues. The PC platform has a variety of input options, not forcing a standardized layout; this does fall under hardware however is blatantly an advantage etc. we should just say little big planet is crappy, because user tools and user made content dont count.

You can play it on PC, just not legally. :P And if you wanna pull an exclusive argument then that's a game you don't wanna play.

1. First, it's not a legitimate acquisition. Pirate Bay anyone?
2. It requires a specific hardware configuration (eg reports are it will only save data on Drive D:, and resolutions are fixed at either 640x480 or 1280x720).
3. It would also lack the goodies found in the home retail version (eg. Story Mode, DLCs, etc).
At the end of the day, not worth it. I'll stick with my PS3 version like other law abiding consumers do.

You can get all parts of a game no matter what.
The resolution is not limited...i have no idea where the hell u got that one.

Does that mean we should just ignore piracy in general? Developers don't. Which brings us to another problem PC gaming has - DRM. Some of the games were seriously injured by the draconian DRM behind them. Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed 2, BioShock. Or is that just another thing that should just be ignored as a PC con?

PS2,wii,360 have huge piracy if you took a look at the number of consoles sold and this will be getting worse day by day. if 360 consoles sold 100 millions don't expect halo to sold 10-15 infact lt will sell much lower than that[QUOTE="Sailor_Enlil"]

the consoles may have less piracy, well except psp. But the consoles have other things to worry about, used game sales and rentals take a big chunk out of profits and are 100% legal and without consequence. My local gamestop has 75% used games, mostly for only a few bucks cheaper than new.[QUOTE="waltefmoney"][QUOTE="Sheppard212"]

[QUOTE="locopatho"][QUOTE="skrat_01"]In regard to differences in development there are a large amount of factors. You don't simply pay royalties to a company like Microsoft, you have to go through their own approval processes. This is both a costly thing to do, and very time consuming; I have heard first hand accounts of approval processes absolutely killing the pace of game development. To make things even more joyful updates through the online networks also have to go through this approval process, and naturally the distribution networks completely change; you can't simply host a game yourself, instead you are always working through a middleman. Which is why the middle ground for console development is non-existent. You either have lower budget smaller arcade titles, or triple A titles; you rarely have titles than can strike a middle ground in terms of budget, production and distribution. Naturally with each generation development costs rise even further, next generation is going to be even worse; development kits rise in costs, percentages taken away grow, expenses in approval grow.SAGE_OF_FIREAll makes sense, not saying it's a good system, what I'm asking is how come even with all that most big name devs are going multiplat? People say consoles hold back PC, how is this possible if PCs are so much more powerful and cheaper and easier and more open? Why not make Crysis 2 a massive PC exclusive and push the boundaries of gaming further? Because Cryengine 2 was a failure, no one really used it because most devs want a multiplat engine. So Crytek did just that and with Cryengine 3 they are trying to make the best multiplat engine there is, of coarse they need to show an example of it.
yea...and im pretty sure its gonna be better than every other one...if you seen the mods, you know cryengine 2 could make almost any genre of game

Indeed. Why else are some developers resorting to DRM?

Do you know what supply and demand is? Sure, EA can charge three hundred for some content, but sicne no one will buy it, it's a pointless endeavor.
Piracy is wrong, sure. No one is debating that. The PC can emulate the other consoles, with a few exeptions, fairly well thus removing the need for the consoles to an extent...unless your game isn't able to be emulated yet.
But if you want more out of a developer or manufacturer, always buy it from them instead of lifting a digital liscense.
