They should add shields in some form in the multiplayer that would be a start. I just hated in kz2 where you get shot twice and die. Its also the reason why i hate the swat game type in reachbigboss5ak
Hell no, nothing in the post sounds good to me. We need some local and online co-op and I'm good. They are already doing enough for me.

Why dose KZ3 need to beat Reach? Reach has a much more robust online and based off KZ2, KZ3 will have a better campaign.

Putting halo against killzone is like putting Iron Man against Robin. Plus killzone is not just a PS3's version of halo. it has its own feel and gameplay.

If that happen on Killzone 3 i offically don't buy it,having to put a clip and half of bullets is not fun in any way or enjoyable, let me shoot you twice in the face to see if you live to tell the story.

That is why Halo players complain so much about MW,because MW2 you don't need to put 40 bullets to kill some one, imagine a war game like MW2 in which you need to spend a clip and half shooting some one to kill him,it would be a dissaster, there would probably be a nuke trown in each game.

then why are you even playing halo reach?

You know how Halo has that energy sword? Well, KZ3 needs its own form of lightsaber--with MOVE support. Now that would make killer app status for the Move, imo.

ohhh, a Lakers fan. grrrrr! just kidding you, man. it won't beat it in sales for sure. but while i wasn't a huge fan, KZ2 is a pretty solid game. i'd like to see co-op. i am pretty stoked for the fact that you can pick different controls. one has the weighted feel of KZ2, and the other has a more traditional feel. its nice that GG listened to complaints, but still kept core fans happy.

What do you mean by "beat"? How can a game on one plat beat a game on another? Unless you imply that KZ3 launches the code through the internet into XBL to make all the 360's who has Halo Reach disks in their trays explode.

The only reasion they get compared is cause they are both 1st party fps and thats about where the similarites end. Both play and feel different.

Smooth, responsive controls and movement. Rock solid framerate and improve the generally laggy feel of KZ2. Take everything else from KZ2 and tweak/improve it and you've got a winner.

I don't know what they can do to beat Reach, but i hope they streamline the menu system in ways you can see what your friends are doing and join them there groups just like in Halo Reach.

Halo's map editor is terrible. It would have been better if they scraped it and put more effort into making decent maps.

Anyway, toast, forge is not terrible for a console editor. there are better ones like in farcry2 but most games simply dont have any.

Why try and kill it, as soon as i hear that phrase i instantly loose interest in the game. Cause it basically means copy halo but improve it slightly. Kz has its own mechanics. Reach would be better with alot of them. but thats what makes it different. If i wanted a halo killer i would play halo, since why play a rip-off/poor idea for a game when i can just play the original. Kz=ps3 Halo=xbox imo both the best on their respective console.

Splitscreen would be nice though (but graphics would have to take a slight cut, which won't happen since 3D is already doing that for it.) But splitscreen please.

Local Multiplayer (4-Player Split-screen versus, 2 player split-screen co-op, both off and online)

4-player Co-Op Firefight with Immense Customization

Large amounts of Gameplay Modes (Invasion, Infection, Stockpile)

Forge Mode or Similar

Theater Mode or Similar

Bungie.net Integration

siddhu33
Killzone.com is good, particularly for clan support, but I agree about all the other points. Unfortunately, I think 4-player splitscreen and anything like forge mode are extremely unlikely, although the others certainly are plausible and indeed preferable...

I just cant see the point in having the editor at all. If i wanted to be creative i would just get a pencil and some paper, and if i want to make something fun I would use a pc editor.

Because it adds a lot to the custom games, and will only add to the list of maps/gametypes the community can play in. The map editor more or less another element of the games customization options to adjust the game modes. While I agree the game needs more maps(there all good maps imo, but it needs more than 13, when 5 of em look the same) the map editor has a lot of potential given how much good stuff was done with Halo 3s foundry and sandbox. Forge World does need some edits though. For one whats with the odd restriction where you can only use a certain amount of one specific item even if your budget is still high? That's stupid, and I don't get how the lighting works. At times it's too static, but I keep seeing some of these user maps actually get the maps to be dark. Which makes no sense to me. Also seriously would be nice if the Forge stuff didn't look so samey. I mean The Pit in Forge World is hideous. Fun to play on and I get over it, but man is it awful looking because of the whole metal look. That said restrictions aside Forge has delivered on a ton of fun stuff in Halo 3, and a stronger version should only help Reach. It's hardly a negative or a set back.

Forge has already been a proven success before with Halo 3. Action sack had a bunch of fun stuff, Griff Ball was a forge creation, so was dodge ball, rocket race, etc. Stuff like castle in the sky and stuff like that were all worth downloading for custom games. A bunch of stuff in sandbox actually made it into the regular playlists and they were very well done, and there was separate stuff for MLG as well.

A weak editor? sure
Nothing worthy of high praise? probably
A uselss feature? Not even close.

It has plenty of uses if Halo 3s forge results were any indication.

First step is to improve the godawful sluggish movement and aiming. This is supposedly fixed already. Other thing is...Killzone 2 barely has an atmosphere becouse for the most part its so loud its tiring. Halo always has that somber music playing somewhere K2 has soldiers screaming over other soldiers screaming over abnoxious explosions everywhere.

I don't see the point in using a weak editor when there are much better ones around. Saying forge is usful is not that much different then saying MS paint is useful

It being weaker is a knock, but hardly makes it useless and more importantly an isolated situation(as in how it effects you) wouldn't exactly hold much weight. It's a shooter, it's a multiplayer driven game, and it benefits a lot more from the existence of Forge than the lack of it. Certainly more useful to Halo, than your analogy was to this discussion. Better editors don't suddenly make Forge less productive. Inferior sure, but the results already speak for themselves.

I did just now...where is this atmosphere? The first Doom did a better job...As for a war type atmosphere then any early MoH, CoD, BFBC2 or most BF games really.

Yes becouse people with a different opinion must be joking or trolling.rzepak
I think Halo has nowhere near the atmosphere of Killzone, because Killzone always has a sense of dread. So if your just stating that you have a different opinion and then backing up because someone disagrees what kind of conversation are we trying to have? I think halo is better. I think Killzone is better. Ok good.

I think Bungie had some decent imagery and ambiance with some of the moments in Reach. Nightfall/New Alexandria certainly set the tone nicely, but the game overall lacked any cohesion with the atmopshere it was aiming for. ODST though I felt had the atmosphere on point at times, and then you realised that the ODST essentially played like Masterchief -_- For all the knocks I want to throw at Killzone I admire the visual work. They had the atmosphere of Helghan down nicely.

Killzone 2 barely has an atmosphere Halo always has that somber music playing somewhere.

A sense of dread. To me Penumbra has a sense of dread so does Metro 2033. Its the feeling that comes when you feel weak and unprepared for what the game throws at you. I didnt feel that in K2 or any Halo really, even the misguided elements with the flood in previous games. To me no one man army shooter can muster dread.

Perhaps not in the context that your portraying, I felt the burden of the Helghan being under the opressive thumb of a dictator it reflected in the harshe condition of there world ext. Sure it's no Amnesia, or Metro 2033 but in reality neither game is really gunning for that and it's an afterthought for a highly acclaimed shooter they have to focus elsewhere such as the multiplayer and graphics is where they need to toss around there muscle. and JGgx4champ I was just using that as a counter to his argument, I personally have no issue with either game as I'm not large into shooters in general I find there focus on multiplayer really hurts the aspects of gaming that I enjoy, the campaign and single player stuff, like a great atmosphere and story.

improve on the lackluster story and forgettable characters that KZ2 had. graphics were great, obviously. and gameplay was awesome. online system must be more robust with more options and features. possibly have coop (local and online). thats all i can imagine right now...slvrraven9
Halo itself do not have memorable characters (Reach). All characters in Reach appear to have same psyche , not distinguishing themselves from others very much.Character wise, the best game I could remember is Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil.

[QUOTE="Revolution_Ali"][QUOTE="jg4xchamp"] You're not going to beat Reach in a feature set battle, but I don't necessarily think you have to. Content doesn't necessarily= superior quality. Where Killzone won't win in customization it can more than make up for in just the general action. jg4xchamp

Well my observation(after seeing lots of people comments) say that Halo is more about multiplayer,custom,create-maps stuff. In single player experience, it needs to ammend a lot of things, it is not a best campaign material then.

First even as a Halo fan I'll say Reach is no best campaign ever, but it's actually pretty damn good all things considered. IN that sense it certainly has more going for it than Killzone 2 or Killzone 1 ever did as single player experiences. Halo's lore has always been exceptionally well done, but Bungie's story telling in the videogames has been nothing short of pathetic. With Reach they just straight up did not capitalize on all the potential.

As for the campaign they ammended a ton of the things that bogged Halo 2 and 3 from greatness(in terms of single player). No flood, no obvious horrible level design(basically no Cortana, Library, or Library 2), Elites were back center stage, no bloated weapons list, and the missions were all varied enough to keep it from ever getting as repetitive as ODST(which was too heavy with the shooter gallery). Plus the campaing benefits on replayability skulls and the general design of the campaign is well built for multiple runs. Since it's not so heavily scripted.

What holds Reach back from greatness if anything is
-Poor execution in terms of the story
-A severe lack of umph if you will. There is not enough moments in the campaigns gameplay that are actually memorable. There is no large elaborate set piece or a grand scarab battle. The whole scorpion portion is a bit of a letdown.
-It sticks too close to the Halo formula for its own good. If you're not going to atleast reinvent the wheel you have to atleast freshen it up or crank some things up. The games scale is impressive from a visual sense, but nothing about the gameplay made it feel like a Halo game but with a warzone vibe. The story speaks of a large war going on, but it never played like you were in a giant war for survival(except for one specific segment)

Totally agreed.
