Conduit, Tenchu, Fatal Frame are not the reasons to buy a Wii.

I have a Wii and I love it. However I see so many people clamoring for more standard core titles and they get all excited about upcoming titles like the Conduit, Tenchu, and Fatal Frame. If you're a wii only gamer, then fine you should be excited about those games. However if you own a PS3, 360, or a high-spec PC and you also own a Wii, those are not the Wii titles that you should be focused on. Why? Because generic FPS's, Stealth games, and horror games are all genre's that can be done and have been done on the more powerful sytems and they usually look better, have better A.I., have bigger environments, etc.

The games that mulit-platform owners need to focus on getting for their Wii are games like Zack & Wiki, Boom Blox, Trauma Center, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles Blastworks, No More Heroes, MadWorld, and LostWinds. I think that is why I love my Wii so much. I use it to play mostly games that are not possible on the other systems, or games that are simply very unique and unlike the type of games that go to the PS3/360/PC. On the other hand if you try and play Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, as much as you try to like it you're not going to be able to stop yourself from comparing it to games like Call of Duty 4 which is way better.

FPS controls on Wii > 360, PS3

Other than MGS4, what stealth games can you get on the other systems?

Fatal Frame looks like the only interesting true horror game imo.

I believe people use those game as examples as to why this year will not be that bad and not as the reasons to buy a Wii. but yes i agree with you. Games like NMH, Zack and Wiki and Trauma Center are spectaculars and very good reasons to buy a Wii, even though they are not for everyone.

I think the reason people use them as examples though is because they are recognised genres/franchises. Anytime somebody makes a thread on Wii games, me and a lot of other Wii owners will say, wow so many there that could be great, de Blob, Deadly Creatures, Fragile, Little King Story etc etc, yet the fanboys always come in and go "lol all luk crap cept da FPS one and that Madworld with all da blood innit". So Wii owners trying to say that Wii does have good games coming for the rest of the year are forced to use games like these, that do look good, but that aren't original or that unique.

That is definitely true, but the controls are not enough to buy FPS's for the Wii when there are so many great FPS's for the 360 or PS3. I would say that Metroid Prime 3 is a definite buy for anybody with a Wii.

Splinter Cell: Double Agent, Assassin's Creed, Hitman: Blood Money, and Tenchu Z (though that game didn't get good reviews). And if you like Ninja games like many Tenchu fans I think do, there is Ninja Gaiden Sigma for the PS3 and Ninja Gaiden 2 for the 360.

Fatal Frame looks like the only interesting true horror game imo.Silenthps
If that's the only game that interest you fine, but for people that just like Horror games in General they have games like Silent Hill: Homecoming, Condemned 1 & 2, and Siren on the HD systems. I haven't played Fatal Frame though so if the game really is unique and uses the Wii functionality in a cool and refreshing way then Fatal Frame might be worth a look. However if it is basically like the last gen versions with some wii-mote functionality that doesn't really add anything then I say the PS3/360 horror games are the way to go.

So basically the problem is extremely negative fanboys who are strangely opposed to anything even remotely promising on the Wii.

I agree with that.

I'm actually jealous of Wii owners that they get Fatal Frame 4. Sure, HD Horror games such as Siren and Silent Hill are great, but I can see Fatal Frame 4 great on the Wii and the fourth game being the best among the series.

Well, I'm an old head. Unless its a SNES, there is no reason to think that Nintendo systems will have violent games with great 3rd support. That hasn't been the case in the last 15 years of their home consoles. The reason to buy a Nintendo system is for Nintendo games, which tend to be like an 85 on gamerankings at worst and often win awards and get game of the year nods on a regular basis.

Mario Platformer, Starfox, Zelda, Smash, Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, Donkey Kong, Pikmin, Mario Golf, etc... those are the core reasons anyone who's not a casual should buy a Wii. Condiut, Tenchu, Fatal Frame, No More Heroes, those are like bonus round games imo.

Buying a Wii when you don't like Nintendo games makes about as much since as buying a PS3 because you hate movies, love Halo and Mass Effect, and your grandfather died in Pearl Harbor.

Reasons to get a Wii is different for each person. There'll be people out there who are only interested in Wii Sports and Wii Fit. And then there are the people who are only interested in the 1st party games. And then there are the people who are a bit of the mix (like me), sure, i look forward to the 1st party games because most of the time, they ARE quality games. Then there are the cult games, No More Heroes, Fatal Frame, Zack & Wiki etc, which are the games i really like.

My personal main reason for a getting the Wii are the exclusives. And in that respect the Wii is holding it's own as an affordable exclusive games machine which complements the big multiplats coming to my gaming PC.

To say that your listed games are not reasons to get a Wii, applies to YOU and maybe a handful of other people.

3. Silent Hill 5 and Siren : Blood Curse ????

I disagree with this one strongly.

I don't. What's natural about using two sticks to control a cursor in FPS. Your better at it I'm sure, then wii controls, but that's because you were forced to get used to it in the past. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. But that doesn't mean the new tricks aren't better.

Conduit hype really needs to stop. I swear, give nintendo fans a bone and they make a shrine around it and paint it as the second coming. It doesn't look all that great

[QUOTE="Oscar-Wilde"]I believe people use those game as examples as to why this year will not be that bad and not as the reasons to buy a Wii. but yes i agree with you. Games like NMH, Zack and Wiki and Trauma Center are spectaculars and very good reasons to buy a Wii, even though they are not for everyone.Zerostatic0

That's a great point, and I agree totally. Games like de Blob and Deadly Creatures are what people shoudl by hyping and buying for the Wii.

I'm really looking forward to both those games, as well as other games that haters would just laugh at. If you want the haters to listen, you have to give them mainstream games.

Hell to the NO......PC FPS controls > Nintendo DS FPS controls > PS3 + 360 FPS controls >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Wii FPS controls....

You are intitled to your own opinion, but i'm guessing you've never played FPS on wii.

yes i did actually my first game i played for the wii was red steel. it controlled horribly. hopefully the new motion plus accessory will improve the fps controls.

I disagree with this one strongly.

What FPSs have you played on Wii?

Someone needs to inject some Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 into you. The latter is not a good game in the least bit, but it has excellent controls.

Aiming by moving your hand around as if it was an actual gun is a lot better than using two inprecise analog sticks, in my opinion. Wii's controls just feel more natural and is the ideal way to play an FPS.

There's your problem right there.

Everybody knows Red Steel has horrible controls. It was a rushed game.

Play Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, and then come back to me. ;)

You might as well look at Bomberman: Act Zero and say that the 360 has nothing but terrible games. There was a big problem with Red Steel, and it wasn't the hardware ;). Go play MP3: Corruption, then get back to me.

On paper, Wii's control scheme sounds fantastic for FPS's. It's definitely inferior to the latter control schemes in reality. Half of the time you are fighting with the responsiveness or struggling to rotate the camera in a control box. However Metroid Prime does it well, it's the inconsistancy of the control scheme that ruins it for Wii's rep.

omg wii fps controls are so horrible! i tried red steel (thats a given) and moh2, lets just say the control mechanics sorta kill the experience. as for metroid prime 3 i only played that at some demo booth, but it felt nice and good, but id rather use analog sticks...i wont bring pc into this since pc fps controls blow anything out of the water!

As an owner of several systems, all I have to say is that you're not the boss of me and I'll like what I like. Plus, Fatal Frame is an awesome franchise that will not be on other systems. I can't wait for this game :)

Yes, Zack and Wiki really is that great. It's great because, although the levels aren't as large and the story telling isn't as great as more contemporary adventure games, the puzzles are really engaging due to the level of hands on interaction that you have with the objects in your environment, the controls are really sharp and make even some of the simplest tasks fun, it has its moments of humor, its an extremely charming game, and its an experience that's very unique to the Wii.

Actually I really want Fatal Frame 4. The 360 has no horror games for me. Condemned 1 and 2 just dont cut it. There's Silent Hill 5, but so far it looks pathetic. Siren wont be on the 360, so I cant get that. Personally I like games that have good atmopshere and dont use cheap tricks to scare people. Playstation 2 had the best horor games. >_>

I dont know about the other two but Fatal Frame will be a good reason to buy a wii if its any good (Fatal Frame and Grass Hopper seems like a really good combo to me)
