Nothing beats having your best buds over, eating some pizza, downing some tall ones, and just chilling back.
Not to mention better bragging rights.Re5ident_Evil
Agreed.
But there are just those bad days where I want to be obnoxious. Where I just want to let loose without anyone seeing what a jerk I am. And it's those times when online is a fantastic release valve. ;)
[QUOTE="DarthMar"]Yeah, confirm... lol why not make a poll?Re5ident_Evil
Because 'Confirm' is the only acceptable answer
lol
Really? Online play is completely superior with the eight year old kids calling you names which they don't know the meaning of and then disconecting on you the second you begin to beat them.
What's not to love?
But what if you and your buds that came over likes playing online so you could tag team in thrash talking to people. And also talk on the mic to your buds about giving you another slice of pizza and a cold beer, making your opponent less cool.

You really shouldn't do that. 12 year olds shouldn't be exposed to the temptation of alcoholism. :|

Depends on the game, depends on your friend's interests.
I don't think having a bunch of buddies over to play a single-player game is much fun.
Nothing beats having your best buds over, eating some pizza, downing some tall ones, and just chilling back. The average age of this site is well below legal age to down tall ones, let alone they likely don't even know what a tall one is ;D

I'd rather have eight people in the same house in front of two TVs with that setup.
It's true, LAN parties and split screening is 10 times more fun than playing online with random people.
It was the best during LAN parties when everyone has their own PC and copy of the game and you all go into one server and trounce everyone.

in that case, 8 of you + 8 other online dudes > just 8 of you
and what your describing, is a mini lan party, sorry but your not gonna have lan party every single day of the week. 8 of my friends arent gonna come over to my house every day, they have things to do, thats why, they can log into live for an hour or two from their house and enjoy the company. Thats what online brings, Convenience

Just because something can't happen every single day of the week, doesn't mean it's inferior. Plus, you are just comparing technicalities, not the experience itself. I'd rather be hanging around my best friends with a pizza on the table battling it out LAN or splitscreen than sitting alone on my couch.
It's just a better overall experience, screw convenience.

once you grow up and move away from your high school friends youll realize how amazing online is. until then enjoy your Sleep-overs.

So you are saying that you prefer virtual people to real people? Real friends have advantages over online friends that you can actually hit them if they get annoying. Try sending a punch over the intertubes.

Eight of my friends aren't gonna come over every day just to play online, either, y'know, but we can have LAN parties every weekend, since just one console will support four people. And a single LAN party is worth a thousand online matches.
Agreed 100%.
local multiplayer and single player >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>multiplayer.
Seriously, i don't see what they hype is. I play the occasional psp game online, and even a couple wii games, but it's just not that much fun. I certainly wouldn't pay for the priveledge of playing games online.

Once you grow up and learn to value the time you spend with your real friends, you'll realize how much MORE amazing local multiplayer is.
