Confirm/Deny: PC Gaming is crap unless you buy the good hardware.

DENY! Most of my PC gaming in the past, i have used low-mid end video cards. It's just this gen i had my first high-end video card and high-end hardware.

Reason: PC gaming is not about GRAPHICS unlike the stupid PS3/X360 fanboys. Why do you think there are still many people that play classic games or old games on PC?

The PC has a library stretching back decades, plus all the graphically forgiving user content. There are plenty of excellent options if you have a crummy computer.

My own hardware was expensive, but I needed parts that would last.

Too true, you wont get anywhere on prebuilds or obsolete sales.

I find that PC hardware needs to be at least 7x stronger to be noticably better than a 360 or PS3. And don't forget the best PC games to get are those hardcore underdog titles (like Silent Hinter 4), not the common mediocreness or ports (Oblivion, CoD4, BioShock, etc. lol Steam too, go with Game Shadow instead at least) Don't try to argue price, this is a hobby.

Crysis is borderline, looking very nice but the story and gameplay are so average.

Mind you I had a 360 and had my fun with Halo 3, but now I sold it untill something awesome comes out again. But untill then, its my PC and Wii, and possibly PS3 once the RPG's start coming.

Most popular PC games are OLD ones, which is ok with some people, but others want new games too, or at least the uncommon ones.

meh, Maybe I just spoil myself too much and can't go back to playing PC on settings lower than max, otherwise it was just cheaper playing a console.

These OLD games are, for the most part, regularly updated. Guild Wars and WoW are still patched on a weekly basis and new expansions/campaigns keep coming out. There are more than 10 Million WoW players worldwide, and around 5 million in Guild Wars. Play any of these games during rush hour or in an event on a populated server, and you'll see that PC gaming is still thriving.

Unlike consoles, they aren't replaced every four months by sequels, either. Longevity is common in PC gaming.

My computer burned out and I'm stuck with a 9600SE... which is like the year 2001 technology. I mean its pretty god aweful plus my system in general is pretty old (I'm talking 2004ish). Yet I still game more on my PC then any of my consoles simply because nothing beats many of the PC games, no matter how old, out there.

Besides, consoles have yet to get Audiosurf.
