meh.  While I like those kind of games, I REALLY like and want more adventures.  There simply is not enough games like Metroid and Zelda out there, and even those are kinda not themselves lately.

Zelda is doing a good job at being zelda if a Link Between Worlds is any indication

Is there anymore news, pics, or vids on that?  I am still uncertain.  Do we know how the world will be yet?  Is it the same world with a completely different alternate world?

Check out the E3 trailer, the Developer Direct, the previews. It looks like the truest Zelda game since OoT. No gimmicks, just pure Zelda.

Ugh, the only thing I can find for the developer direct is the E3 trailer. Did you see that yet? Lemme look for previews in the meanwhile. There's nothing that will 'blow you away' per se, it's just classic Zelda at its finest, and that's what makes it so good.

I just need to know that the world will either have more to it, or that the alternate world is something new or something.  I dont want a reskinned ALTTP.  I hope the game has a bit more in the way of sidequests and towns than ALTTP did.

This. Such a bad troll. I personally can't wait. I still have a soft spot for Nintendo and those games, and a Wii U will probably be the console I buy after a PS4. I already have a 3DS and it's my Nintendo fix right now.

Well, so far we know that Hyrule and the Dark World both return, but we don't know if they are exactly as they were in the original, or if they have new additions or anything. I guess we'll learn more as the game's release draws near.

i don't know why people think a person that's literally never dabbled into story beyond "i need an excuse to get the game going" would do a good job creating a story-heavy game.

Miyamoto confirmed this game some time ago but I am glad it finally has a release date.  Though the rants Miyamoto and Iwata wen't on during the E3 conference makes me speculate that it won't be that "new" kind of IP people are expecting.  For those who missed it, they wen't on countless interviews speaking on how they made new IP's but because they do not center around a traditional character people don't count them as new (i.e Brain Age, Wii Fit, Wii Sports...ect)

I am pretty sure his new game will be along those lines but I pray that it will be what most gamers call a new I.P.

He did, retro seemed to struggle with making the combat work in 3D while still keeping the platforming doable or some shit. He said do it in first person, and the rest was history.

The Galaxy games, they were fantastic. As far as a new id? That was more in line with a more traditional game and not wiifit: Pikmin. Everyone at Nintendo still has it on a purely fundamental game design level. Their level design is 2nd place to no one in this industry and that's what makes even their most uninspired games enjoyable.

They've just been creatively deprived/shackled for awhile. I'm excited to see what Miyamoto and that team are working on. Especially since I feel like he'll do something neat with that pad. Could also be one of those I'm retiring after this game deals ala Mikami with Evil Within. So why not go out with a bang? Be John Elway, not Dan Marino.

it seems very central, they decided to make a whole new game because one guy thought of it, and all you've seen so far is one demo of one dungeon (which BTW heavily uses it).

Hell, no they were terrible. That was easily the worst season. Season 8 had some good stuff, and then ended in a lame way.

[QUOTE="charizard1605"]

[Quote="Gamespot"]Mario, Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto says mystery project has been "keeping me pretty busy."

Famed game designer Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario and Zelda, has teased a "new franchise" for 2014.

"We'll have Mario Kart 8 out next spring, and at that point we'll have the whole lineup in place, so I think it's about time we brought out a new franchise," Miyamoto said in the latest issue of Famitsu (as translated by Polygon). "I can't give out details, but that's the title that's been keeping me pretty busy lately."

A new and original game from Miyamoto was first revealed in January 2012, when the Associated Press reported that the designer was at work on an "undisclosed original title."

Miyamoto's most recently released title was March's Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon for the 3DS. He is currently working on Wii U game Pikmin 3, due to launch August 4.

The designer turns 61 this year, and said in March that it would be "strange" not to be thinking about retirement, though he has no immediate plans to step down from his post.Gargus

The last new IP Miyamoto was invvolved in was Wii, although his last original IP that he spearheaded was Pikmin, back in 2001.

Anyway, what with The Wonderful 101 this year, and Project X and Miyamoto's new game next year, looks like all the complains of Nintendo not having new franchises will soon be gone. Plus those that continue to criticize Nintendo for not having any new IPs developed in house from their EAD or SPD studios should be pretty satisfied with this as well, I think.

Anyway, what do you think it will be? Another platformer? An RPG? Shooter? Racer? Something completely out of the left field, like Pikmin?

SOURCE

Wonderful 101 isnt a nintendo game, they didnt make it. Nintendo is just publishing it. Dozens of games come out every year for nintendo systems that nintendo doesnt actually make. Wonderful 101 is just another since its being made by platinum games. Thats like saying bayonetta 2 is a nintendo game when they didnt actually make it, they just published it so it doesnt belong to them.

Project x? Did you mean project x zone? If you did then again nintendo didnt make it. Sega, namco and capcom made it. Nintendo didnt even publish it, namco did.

And miyamoto only making 1 new game for nintendo that nintendo actually makes? Eh, so what? It wont live up to its expectations I can guarntee that. Besides what he personally created in the past decade that wasnt just another franchise jerkoff? Wii music, steel diver, chibi robo thats pretty much it.

He means Project X which is Monolith Soft's X (Working Title) Monolith Soft is owned by Nintendo since 2007.

Wonderful101 Nintendo does own the IP they contracted Platinum Games to make it.

Plus those that continue to criticize Nintendo for not having any new IPs developed in house from their EAD or SPD studios should be pretty satisfied with this as well, I think.

I thoroughly agree. But then again most of the complaints lodged against most companies (Nintendo in particular) are baseless and without merit. An unfortunate side effect of the internet not being informaed and actually paying attention to the facts. But oh well, at least this is WONDERFUL news!!

As far as guesses on what kind of game it is I actually have no idea. But what I would like it to be is something similarly whimsical and fun, akin to Pikmin and Mario. But of course I also hope that it uses a very unique design and has some great new characters and a rich universe. A kick ass colorful adventure would be wonderful!

Lol yea the fact that nintendo is FINALLY making a new IP after all these long YEARS should really shut the haters up, pathetic damage control. This is nothing people should be excited about nintendo should have been doing this years ago.

The designer turns 61 this year, and said in March that it would be "strange" not to be thinking about retirement, though he has no immediate plans to step down from his post.Bread_or_Decide

SOURCE

Three games aren't going to end complaints. Especially when it's only one a year.

So introducing 3 new IP's in one ear wont end complaints? Not to mention the other games that will release alongside those titles (all made or published by Ninty). Nintendo just cant win.

Don't even get hype for this. It could turn out to be something crappy like Wii Fit or Wii Music. Both of those franchises are Miyamoto's games.

Great for those people begging for new IPs that usually don't play Nintendo games anyways, but just like to b*tch.

Nintendo already develops more great games than any other company in this industry.  They also manage to be inventive within their existing IPs, negating the necessity for new ones.

Hopefully this game turns out great!  You can never have enough good games.  But no matter how great it is, even if it became one of Nintendos biggest staples, it wont shut the b*tches up.

As much as I want this to be something good, Miyamoto's latest franchise was Wii Music and we all know how that turned out.
