I mean outside of USA people that DONT shop online but in STORES (the majority of console games are sold in retail shops) pay an insane amount of money per game.

Here in Greece a new xbox360/ps3 title like crysis 2 costs 50 EUROS in shops. While shogun 2 can be found online at 28 euros... Things have been much worse at the beginning of this gen when console games costed SEVENTY EUROS.

And still people have this notion that console gaming is cheap even when PS3 costed 660 euros (and sold like crazy in Greece).

I wont even get into STEAM deals....

True that. It's $109 for console games and $89 for PC here, with pre orders. And then it drops to $89 for consoles and $79 for PC. Console titles generally stay expensive while PC games fall quickly. Oh and to put it into perspective, the Australian Dollar is around 1.01 against the US Dollar. So imagine paying $90 for a new game like Crysis 2.

Same here.

A new console game costs $50-$70 here while a new PC game is rarely sold for over $20.

That's messed up. I live in Canada and we used to have a lot of games that launched for 70. Now since the Canadian dollar is higher than the US all games are launch at 60. Except EA games, but those are easy to find for around 50 at launch in my area.

Yeah it's true, especially PS3 at launch was just ridiculously priced. It's more reasonable now though, and I get my games from Ã…land or UK to save a few euros so it's bearable.

Thank God for this economical crisis. Dollars today are cheaper than toilet papers. If we were in regular times it would be impractical to game in anything more modern than a PS2 where I live.

I do all my shopping outside of the legal tributary system -thank God too for them chinese tax-evaders - and PC benefits the most from it. Anywhere you can find a shady store of electronic parts that only take cash =D . DD is also a blessing.

I live in the UK, and rarely do i buy an xbox game for over £20. Usually i can get a game for around £10-£15 a few months after retail release on amazon. ME2 cost me £11... I never buy when a game has just been release as the price here usually falls VERY quickly (except COD games), and on amazon, because they operate out of Jersey (tax haven) the games cost even less. PC games are even cheaper.

UK retail price tends to be £40, which according to Google = around $65, so not too bad. You can get most games for £37/38 if you buy online obviously. PC games tend to be £30.

I pay 45-50 Euro for a new game in Ireland. I thought that was cheap enough though because we always had to pay 60 Euro last gen.

In Poland console games can cost up to twice the price of a PC game. You can find them cheaper in smaller shops but they are still way more expensive.

console games here: 200-250R$ (120$ US )

PC games: 80-100R$ (50-60$ US)

PS3: 1200R$

xbox 360 slim 4gb : 1000R$

:o

this is why there are more PC gamers here, but piracy is a serious problem.

It is WAY cheaper in the US too... Console Games are $60 when launched (cheapest without a stupid gift card) is around $53. PC Games are $50 (Except a Few $60) when launched cheapest I can find them is around 35$. and it is much easier to find PC deals then Console game deals.\ The hardware price is still OVERPRICED!! $300 for 6 Year Old Hardware? No Thanks =) (Even Though I Still Have Them)

it's pretty much true in my part of Europe, but I can't speak for everyone else. I hear it's cheap in the UK though...

Steam sales are still great; just a bit more expensive because they're in euros, but still, the special deals are usually a lot cheaper than what you normally find.

There are always shops like Play and Amazon for those who live on Europe. And I guess that in every country there is at least one chain store that has decent prices (plaisio in this case). I mainly buy disk based games (I do use Steam on occasion) and still, I never pay more than 25€ for a game, be it for PC or X360

edit: @Skyward Shipping is free :D

P.S. Gamespot realy hates punctuation, "invalid tags"

Geez, $110 is steep. I tend to buy most games around $10-$20 on all my system, unless it's a game that I know will be worth a premium price. I think the most expensive game I got this year is Pokemon Black at $35.

Here in Ireland its not so bad in some shops. I remember I got the Killzone 2 steel case limited edition on release day for 50 euro. Most games here don't go past 50 euro. But it depends on the shop. Some retailers still have games for 70 and I don't know how they even sell them

You are aware that 50 euros is 70 dollars? New games in the US are 60 dollars, it's really not as bad as people like to make out. Console prices are the only things that are a lot more expensive here in europe.
