Console graphics are underrated

I game on both pc and xbox360 and I know hermits underestimate consoles processing power.

i game on both a PS3 and a PC on the same 1080p TV. Difference is i run all my pc games at 1920x1080p with min 4xAA and 8xAF. My Ps3 games are lucky to run at 720p. Textures also look muddy and grainy and low res.

Personally i think console gfx are overrated.

BTW, those screens of FAR CRY 2 are the same ones shown on the PC page. Trust me. If you saw FarCry2 on the PC and on the consoles on the same TV and flick between the channels you wouldn't even post this.

I'd also like to add, have you played crysis on your PC? at anything aproaching high very high?

I play it at high on XP with the dx10 mod, at 1080p. If you are trying to compare any console game to that you fail big time m8. No other PC game comes close yet and probably won't for a while.

Basicly, some games are close, in some aspects, WiC is incredible looking, but its pulled back RTS style.

i agree, im pc/x360 and there isnt a huge differance, i own both ut3 on xbox and ut3 on pc, it looks slightly better on my pc but not by much, owe and crysis is a beutiful game but its not very fun imo. Physics can only be but so much fun :P

GS posted the exact same screens of the PC version back in may. Before any 360 screens had even been seen. DiD you really think that was on a 360 lol.

If you search google you can even see, on officail xbox websites, Crysis screens running at max that are apparently on 360 too rofl. Don't you know how these things work? Even GS use the same screens on multiplat reviews, usually the PC version as they look the best.

I really find it unbelievable that even now, after all this time consolites still believe consoles can match PC graphically. Its insane, the only people who think or say it are the blind console fanboys, even when devs, journo's and reviewers state the fact they refuse to believe it.

I also still find it rather amusing if not a little sad that consolites still use bullshots or hudless pre release shots, cutscenes even cgi and now PC screens to try and prove the consoles can match pc lol.

Look, consoles are great, they have great games, if you like that kind of thing, but graphically/ plz stop this utter nonesense.

Dude, I own both Crysis and Far Cry 2 on PC (which looks better than Far Cry 2 360 version) and can easily say that Crysis looks a lot better.

All the hype for FC2's or Killzone 2's graphics make me feel like console graphics are overrated, if anything. I've seen lots of people saying FC2's and Killzone 2's graphics are on par, or even better than Crysis', when these games clearly are pretty far behind.

as long as graphics aren't last gen, i could care less. i play some older pc games at lower resolutions, i find them fun.

if you guys think that crysis-level graphics are required to make a game good, you have ridiculous standards.

cod4, kz2, those graphics are absolutely fine with me, and a lot of other people.

you compared them, well you compared pc farcry shots with pc crysis shots and used that to say console graphics are underrated lol. Still trying to work that one out tbh lol.

TBH I think Cryengine is just overated. I recently bought Warhead, pretty boring linear game imo. Graphics are good, but they just don't wow me, maybe the artwork is just boring for me. I had a lot more fun playing Gears tbh, I know it technicalyl has less pixels etc....but that felt like the better graphics for me.

I have actually said similar about GeoW. I mean i'm not stupid here, technically Crysis destroys every game out on any system. However, i seem to get more of a WoW from people who see Gears running on my PC at 1080p on my 40" tv than i do from crysis.

Its just i love crysis for the gameplay, absolutely love it, i hate Gears gameplay.

Gears WoW'd me alot, cus of the bloody fun of it. but Crysis has the "wow this **** looks real" aspect to it

And I say that gaming frequently on my 360 and Ps3.

FC2 loks knowhere near that good on the 360 - hell the PC version isnt drop dead amazing like Crysis, its visually appealing though.

That said, while I don't think you can debate that PC graphics are better, there's plenty of room to question whether they're that much better. Crysis & Warhead didn't give me the "OMG awesome" feeling I got the first time I played Doom 3 or Far Cry. I didn't think I was looking at an amazing leap forward.

At this point, it's worth asking "are the differences from console to PC worth it, or are console graphics good enough?" For me, the console's good enough. I never find myself thinking "this would be more fun with some AA, AF, or higher resolution". Even the "sub-HD" games like Halo 3 and CoD4 looked good to me (okay, except for Haze, but that was unredeemably bad).

You aren't going to be happy when you you play it on 360 and the graphics are a lot worse than those screenshots.

Post above just destroyed TC, but nvm I'm sure TC will just ignore it.

FC2 on PC doesn't hold up to Crysis, in fact it doesn't even come close, so naturally the 360 version won't either.mr_mozilla
