Less than half of the PS3 owners knew its a blu-ray player!

HD is so affordable right now it's not even funny. Here is a great display at Wal-Mart for $450.
Sony is wrong on one thing, 1080p isn't a necessity. 720p looks great.
It's not like this is a surprise. HD is just PR propaganda whose sole purpose is to sell "next-gen" machines.Michael85
its still ****ing sweet though.

Think about that for a sec. That means that 60% of ps3 owners can be considered "casual" or even worse. For goodness sakes even most casuals know the ps3 is a blue-ray player!!!

That is hilarious. You always here cows/lems telling sheep how Nintendo and the Wii is casualville...yet they are just as bad, if not worse.
Thats like someone buying a Wii and not knowing it had motion control.
You ppl saying it´s too early for blu ray and for HD are idiots, that´s not the reason there not doing amazingly well, it´s the fact that it´s a major transition. You really think if the ps3 came out in 5 years blu ray wouldn´t have the same problem then? The transition takes time, it can´t happen overnight.Eddie-Vedder
You act as if HD didn't exist before 360 and PS3. Making the PS3 and 360 HD compatible was like making an accessory that only works with electric or hybrid cars. There just isn't enough of an HD market yet.
This will all change in the coming years just watch.
Trading_Zoner
mmm, i think thats was the gamecube slogan...
btw, this is not news, if they knew better they wdent be console players, they would be pc users
now be a good boy and go cry to the mods disrubtive postingggg!!!

It'll change, but will it make a difference in that time?
The TV is more than a 360 Premium.HD is so affordable right now it's not even funny. Here is a great display at Wal-Mart for $450.

But blu ray is what will make ppl know the diference, when ps3´s starts selling more and videostores start racking up the blu ray movies and so on, it´s happening ppl need to buy the gear though, but the transition has begun, give it time. Movies and games will lead the way just like with dvd´s.
I don't really care if the masses are ready for it, I'm read for HD and I'm glad Sony and MS are delivering. :DTeufelhuhn
exactly
I could care less if the masses arent using HD.xXHackettXx
No, they don't even know that the consoles have it. Meaning the masses are casuals. Which also means that 360 and PS3 are casual farms too. :/
Agreed. I only have 720p and its looks amazing.HD is so affordable right now it's not even funny. Here is a great display at Wal-Mart for $450.

RAW power pushes gameplay the most and there's no such thing as HD graphics anyway, its just a sharper resolution for people with HDTV's.tomarlyn
?? ps3 games are made in native HD resolutions, u must be talking bout 360 upscaling games
How can someone not realise that the PS3 doesn't have a Blu-ray player? They don't deserve a PS3.bstarter29
Yup, IT'S RIGHT THERE ON THE FRIGGIN' BOX:lol:
Also aren't people getting 5 free blu-ray movies with each purchase of a PS3?
How in the world do they not know it supports HD. If you read the hook up directions then you would have to see it. Yet again a lot of people dummer than you think.Killfox
I find that ever so slightly ironic.
Anyway HD will be ingrained into every average Joe soon. Just walk into an electronics store and they're touting HD like it's the new colour TV.
actually, majority of console owners aren't aware of HD FEATURES. as in the switch on the chord for the 360. or different video output settings on a tv.
it's not that they aren't aware of the actually difference.

What was?
Anyway it's so funny. One of the Bungie devs brought Frankie (another Bungie dev) over to his house and was showing his new HD system. He put on Dead or Alive 4, and was talking about how crisp HD looks.
Frankie walks over to the 360, switches on "HD mode", and the graphics go up a notch on Joseph Staten's brand new LCD TV.
I guess even devs sometimes don't know the difference
