I don't think we are allowed to talk about piracy here. x:

And i'm guessing that is a public site? Every Private site I have seen gets nowhere near that many peole. o:

More like 2.5x, at best. Way to not add up all the Windows Shift torrents on the page (anyone checking my math: be careful; some of those are older NfS games rather than Shift).

Both windows and 360 have their share of pirates.

So far the ps3 is the safest when it comes to game piracy.

Even so, multiplats on the 360 sell more than their ps3 counterparts, right? correct me if I'm wrong.

Cause PC developers just want an excuse to put games on consoles, that way they can make them weaker and everyone can play them, ignorant of how superior PC game can be.

Yeah, cause its easier and cheaper to get a 360 then a computer, even if your experiance is so much worse.

what? the devs just dont know how to spend their money, Sins was made with a budget of under $1 million easily making a profit. sell 25,000 games and you already made it all back and more.

I just checked a couple of private trackers that are not open to the public.

360 Total for NFS:S - 187,694 seeders/leachers

PC total for NFS:S - 162,847 seeders/leachers

Pretty close, but still shows the 360 is pirated to hell and back.

yeah...not just that you know the only reason the 360 has sold about 34 million (not so sure about the number) is that its easy to hack and play free games on i now like about 8 guys who bought the 360 instead of the ps3 and when i ask them why not consider a ps3 they just say it doesnt have any pirated (free or extremly cheap) games but that just makes me stand-up and respect sony for they are the only company who managed to make an unhackable computer (PS3 FTW)

WOW, thats just wrong. It is WAY easier and cheaper to dev on PC. Thats why so many indie devs are PC only. I mean thats just... completely and utterly wrong.

Spore and The Sims 3 are games people have criticised for the amount of piracy they got, yet Spore sold 2 million while Sims 3 sold 3.7 million.

People put too much significance into piracy figures, it's not like each and every one represents lost sales.

Your right they don't but to ignore the significance of piracy when a game is downloaded 5-10 times as often as it's bought.... A very good article on the subject: http://www.tweakguides.com/Piracy_1.html

as I said 360 games leaked and no one talk, if a PC game get leaked the developerdeveloper will blame the Piracy for it and keep whining for ages . Nintendo and lots of Companied are suing the R4 importers. lots of Wiis are damaged cuz of the 4.3 update which fight Piracy and for Sony their PSP go is hacked like all his older brothers , a hacker claimed that he can hack the PS3 and he is gonna spread it to the world soon. all this and they only talk about PC, How Weird .!!

PC piracy = Problem. Crysis was pirated over 1.5 million times...

Console piracy = Not a problem. The numbers actually pirating compared to the millions buying the games on said console are so one sided in favor of the buyers that's it's essentially just pointless to even mention.

Piracy is going to happen wherever you go, no matter what. PS3 games will be pirated as well when it's cost efficient. Thing is, only on PC does it actually hinder sales to the extent and people take notice. Just look at Wolfenstein on PC? Wolfenstein was essentially a PC franchise and it sold 30k on PS3 and near 40kon 360. Yet, on PC, it only sold 17k. Demigod had 80% of the players at launch of the game as being pirates. Only 20% were legitimate players (I was one of the legimate players). This is all pretty much common sense.

I'm not ignoring the subject, only questioning the significance of its impact.

PC gaming has apparently been dieing for decades and yet console users insist on claiming piracy is killing it, well there's two heavily pirated games that did just fine. Did piracy cost sales? Probably yes, but they didn't invalidate their success as PC exclusive games.

Download figures are not all lost sales.
