Console vs PC: Which has a wider range of games?

Just thinking about it, there are games I have on my steam list that I couldn't even define within a genre. Games like Uplink where you have to hack into systems around the world and steal sensitive data for clients, of DEFCON by the same dev.

FGMPR

PC strengths:

MMOs

RTS

Simulation

etc..

Console Strengths:

Fighters

Sports

JRPGs

etc..

I beleive it comes down to mostly preference.

PC hands down. Now excuse me while I go play my garbage truck simulator.

Richard Burns Rally was on PS2 and XBOX if I'm not mistaken. I love that game. Shame this crappy laptop I'm using right now hardly runs it.:( :cry:

OK, 2 games, and they are reflections of EA's NASCAR 2000 for the PS1 and that is nowhere near a sim unlike NASCAR Racing 4 by Papyrus (even EA's PC NASCAR racing games relected an arcade nature compared to the Papy series). You are right, I didn't specify flight sim. NHL10 is no more a sim as a Madden game is.

PC...the backwards compatibility is superb.

You've got a Fallout sig, and can't even remember Fallout Tactics? Theres also Silent Storm and Jagged Alliance. Theres probably no *Japanese* SRPG on PC, but they exist.

It's an open platform afterall..one with 30 years of backlog, countless legal emulations of other platforms(you can buy those games legally from their makers) and insane ammount of freeware and browser games. One might not like pc offerings and thats fine, but it does offer far wider selection.

I do all the time, as do many other PC gamers. Problem is because it doesn 't have spectacular graphics and isn't on console, it is dismissed like so many PC games by the majority of none PC gamers.
