I this thread was about Two Worlds 2 :P The Witcher 2 is looking sweet though.
Edit: by SW rules, Two Worlds came out first so TW2 = Two Worlds 2.
Lets just hope the melee combat isn't pathetic like the first game. I actually stopped playing the game because the sword combat was so boring and didn't require any skill. Just wait for the right moment, click, and he automatically attacks.
hoola
the developers release combat trailers awhile back..nothing like the first game.
Edit: Also to the TC it might be better if you put The Witcher 2 instead of TW2
How is an 81 on metacritic a total mess? Hell the EE version got an 86. Pretty damn good game.I wouldn't get too excited. The first one had awesome previews and trailers too, but that turned out to be a total mess.

game comes out in march..more than enough time to upgrade :wink:Looks fantastic! I wish i had a PC powerfull wnough to play this.

Why are developer diaries always shot with those pretentious asshat camera angles? It completely takes me out of the whole thing.I hate watching them because it's so distracting and borderline comical.
"Lets get a shot of this guy from the side with a close up on his chin while he talks about the scripting process"
The game looks smoking hot though. I found myself wanting to like the first game a lot more than I actually did.Hopefully this one doesn't turn out the same way for me.

It seems you don't need a very powerful PC.
http://www.gamestar.de/spiele/two-worlds-2/artikel/technik_check_two_worlds_2,45172,2319056.html
Here they say you can max the game out with a 8800 GT and a Core 2 E4300 or AMD Athlon 64 X2/6.000+ at 1680x1050 and at 1920x1080 with a Geforce GTS 250 or Radeon HD 4870.

this is exactly the reason why i said it would be better if the TC said The Witcher 2 and not TW2
i've seen like 8 what will next gen console games be like threads in the last week.

Yeah, I did think the thread was about Two Worlds 2, which, judging from the last time I saw something about it looks drastically improved as well.[QUOTE="Riverwolf007"]...come again?i've seen like, 8 "what will next gen console games be like?" threads in the last week.

fixed. I'm such a grammar chump. And he's right. It's really amazing what these guys are trying to accomplish as far as what characters in RPGs should be like.
I hope they succeed. It sounds great.
Yes. If you look at the story vid, the project lead confirms this. It's done pretty much like Mass Effect to ME 2. Yea, they said were over a 1000 things that would be carried over from your previous save.[QUOTE="svenus97"]
Very nice, this and DA2 should keep me busy for quite some time. Is it true that you can import saves ?

1,000 things? where did you hear this? In a Gamescom interview, I'll try finding the link.[QUOTE="vadicta"]In-case you hadn't notice most well known games this gen weren't considered great until the first sequel. I looked around and came across this :- "Save load could import swords, Orens and some of the character's attributes. The most important choices from TW1 will somehow affect TW2's gameplay" Guess I was wrong about that or confused that with what Bioware said about ME2. I apologize for the misinformation.shane_orija
That does sound like something bioware would say:P
Here is a fact sheet from the game's message board
http://tw2.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=28407.0
here's part of that fact list
• Game begins two months after TW1 events and continues its plot
• Story focuses on two main plains – searching for Northern Kingdoms lords' killers and finding his own identity by Geralt
• Events between Geralt's in-book death as well as the amnesia thing will be explained
• The main story - line will be at least as long*** as it was in TW1 (40 hours). Side quests expand it 2-3 times
• ***Game's not finished yet, we can't tell its exact length
• There will be about 40 big, nonlinear quests in TW2
• No FedEx quests
• Game consists of prologue + 3 acts + epilogue
• Prologue can be started in different 3 ways, including TW1 save's load
• Save load could import swords, Orens and some of the character's attributes. The most important choices from TW1 will somehow affect TW2's gameplay
• These, who don't have save, but remember choices made in TW1 could probably be able to quick – define them
• TW2 will have 16 endings, they will be influenced by our alliances, attitude to various social groups in-game, political decisions etc.
• Moral choices – of course stay. Flashback system will be more fluently composed with gameplay
• Geralt will have few non-playable companions (for example – Triss) to ask for help in some situations
• We're going to meet few friends known from TW1 – as for now we know about Tiss, Zoltan, Dandelion
• There will be Filippa Eilhart in TW2 probably [.LINK – concept art], as well as Iorveth, Shilard Fitz-Oesterlen and other (as for now - unknown) characters from Saga, not present in TW1
• TW2 has 130k dialogue lines
• There will be 256 cutscenes in TW2 of overall length about 150 minutes (TW1 – 130 cutscenes / 53 minutes)
• Story and dialogues were written by the same people that created TW1

I wonder if the main character is still the same horn dog.. I remember you could bag two women within the first half hour of the game.
I wanna go as far as to say this will probably be the next graphics king. The visuals are simply mind-blowing. I just hope my computer will be able to run it with decent frames. Does anyone know if this will support DX10/DX11?

Just try the Combat Rebalance Mod and you will die in seconds.
It requires the precise use of potions and oils.
You have to be quick and move away from attacks too.

I tried it on my first play through and I was getting PWNed at the first act on normal.
I got used to it after a while though.
I tried switching to hard mod without the mod and it was way too easy.
Hard mode on the mod was way too hard for me though.
I loved The Witcher because of its plots and choices.
The game didn't have the good and bad choice like a Mass effect 1&2.
Most choices had some good and bad....but mostly bad.
Like at the end of Act 1 where you can choose the Witch or the Townspeople.

SPOILERS!!!!!

The witch sold poison to a girl who wanted to kill herself and the witch also manipulated a man to kill his brother.
But the towns people were just as bad with one man being the one who raped his girl friend (which made her commit suicide with that poison) and the guy who was manipulated into killing his brother actually wanted to do it.
So really you find it hard to choose and the consequences of your actions don't usually show until later in the game where it is too late to retry.
watch the spoilers hakkai007 :o
and i agree with you..having the choices you made early on in the game come back and bite you in the butt later on is really what made me so drawn to the game. None of the choices in the game were black and white and you were stuck deciding between the lesser of two evil's.
Also here is one gameplay vid of The Witcher 2 which should show some power behind it.

Consoles would not be able to handle that. Well maybe if you made all the soldiers cardboard cut outs and lower the effects, draw distance, LOD, and texture resolution.
