I don't agree, KB+M makes it better.

I agree but only in terms of movement with the controller. The keyboard has a very big learning curve that I feel PC gamers don't really bring into the light enough for people new to PC gaming. I still can't seem to get use to the whole WASD setup with the jump being the space bar and ducking being a button I never really use, plus the other random keys I have to hit; It's just too much. There really should be an alternative for the keyboard.
But the mouse makes me wonder how I ever enjoyed a shooter with a right analog stick -- never knew aiming could be so graceful. :)
[QUOTE="DarkLink77"][QUOTE="skrat_01"]Which has always been factually incorrect. And tank controls with turning ratios are not natural in the slightest.bleehum^This. Try playing Quake on a controller and see how far you get. I'm also inclined to believe that anyone who prefers controllers to KB/M because "pulling a trigger is more like firing a real gun" has never actually fired a gun in their life. This. Pulling a trigger on a controller is nothing like firing a real gun. clicking the mouse is closer to firing a real gun??
I agree. I spent 100s of hours with COD, and then switching to consoles made my aiming horrid. After a decent amount of console FPS, I've grown to appreciate what they have to offer. I guess you could say controllers nice for non-twitch non-competetive FPS games.I see where you're coming from. I'll take playing on PC anyday if I'm really feeling my game, because I demand precision and the most efficient method of control possible.
But I also like kicking back on my couch crusiing through a map on BF3, with my 360 controller. It certainly does feel better. Your thread title is sure making people rowdy lol. But I see where you're coming from, sometimes a controller is more comfortable and easier to control with thana KB/M.

[QUOTE="tenaka2"][QUOTE="reach3"]I will admit, keyboard and mouse in MUCH more accurate, but I just don't like it. I fells lame clicking a mouse to fire a gun. and walking holding down a button is weak also. It just feels unnatural to me. Pulling a trigger on a controller feels much better and is actually natural for shooting a gun. Walking also feels better for a thumbstick and controlling momentum. While keyboard and mouse is undoubtedly superior in a precision-sense...a controller feels much more natural and just feels plain better for games to me.reach3

Yeah because soldiers go around shooting stuff with a 360 controller. Is not natural to turn around like a tank.
That's just your opinion. You got used to controllers and probably don't play much with a mouse.
Clicking a button vs pulling a trigger Which would be the better feeling and more natural way to shoot a gun in a videogame? Obviously clicking a button....Pointing at the target with your hand on a mouse vs twiddling your thumb on a thumb stick so that aim assist can shoot the huge hitbox? Obviously the latter.
Completely disagree. I can understand wanting to use a controller for other games, but FPS's play best on KB/M, and not JUST because it is more accurate. Because you feel fully in control and that makes it more immersive. In real life I donmove like an action figure. If I want to point somewhere, I point there. PC allows me to feel fully immersed and in control in FPS games. I simply cannot stand console controls for FPS games.
pulling a xbox 360 trigger feels bette rthan clicking a mouse button.crystosreally ? by feel better do mean, you pulling a trigger is more satisfying or do you mean its more accessible ? I'd rather a mouse 1 and mouse 2 buttons than a trigger, your hand remains stationary on the mouse and all you have to do is click instead of pull back.

you can do quicker turn arounds and more precise aiming with a mouse and have weapons binded to specific keys and ****

Obviously clicking a button.... so do you also put the controller sideways and in front of your face as if you were aiming a real gun? I mean...your argument to say that controllers>keyboard is literally "real guns have triggers, like a button! not a click!" and btw "clicking" also hits a button...its the same **** dude.lol try playing CS or Quake with a controller.
kraken2109
easy just u can aim more precise with a mouse derp ur using ur arm/hand to control the crosshair vs ur thumb DERP
[QUOTE="edidili"][QUOTE="reach3"] Clicking a button vs pulling a trigger Which would be the better feeling and more natural way to shoot a gun in a videogame? Obviously clicking a button....reach3
When I jump in games I don't want to do it like I do it in real life. I just click a button and I'm fine with that. The turning around on the other hand is just irritating.
Good for you. You don't care about how natural it feels to play games. I will take better feeling gameplay over something that feels awkward yet give me more chance to kill someone please...i've fired several guns, controllers dont feel "natural" at all...your argument is flawed, you say is more natural because of the button resembling the gun trigger...but the accuracy with controller doesnt resembles a real gun at all...so by your logic controllers dont feel natural as well. and keyboards should also feel more natural by your logic, because you are also pulling a trigger, even if its with a mouse, its a button, just like any other, AND you get a more realistic movement. you lost at your own game.ulling a trigger on a controller feels much better and is actually natural for shooting a gun.reach3Might be, but aiming doesn't feel natural on controller, while it does on mouse.
I would personally rather have natural 'head movement' via mouse, rather than the tank-simulator feeling of a controller.
Which highlights the real issue with the controller, in that the skill requirement for a game is capped, hence the epic-noobfest on consoles compared to PC.
Trigger reality VS virtual reality!
I'll take the virtual.
I seriously have no idea what the hell you're talking about. I can't play multiplayer FPS games at all with a gamepad because of how handicapped it makes me feel.
Let's make this. Play any FPS you want on the PC. And then play on the console. You will cry tears of blood.

I actually agree with his opinion. You can't just blindly say that, he's got a point. Both controls have its pros and cons. but the "pros" he is exhibiting are "THE CONTROLLER HAS A TRIGGER BUTTON ITS NOT A CLICK HERPY DERP"
The very fact that aim assists and such bullguano exists only on consoles and is even considered fair makes it look like you didn't put too much thought in your post.
"Feels more natural"? Right, because guns are held in your hands like a controller, lmao.

I'll take logic over "teh magical feeling".
One has the precision and speed and is the clear victor. The other has "sumthing special!!11 dat I can't describe" :roll:Neither feel like firing a gun, so please stop.

I suppose controllers are OK if you're just noobing around. Just don't go claiming they're superior.

Yeah pulling a plastic trigger is just like the real thing and pushing forward on a thumbstick is so natural.
Seriously think about what you just wrote.

Not necessarily. For example, force feedback wheels in racing games: some people love them because they provide feedback, others prefer the ability to snap lock-to-lock in a split second and so use a controller. What you like about your controller of choice may not be what everyone's looking for.If I play MW2 on PC with KB+M I can shoot everything from the hip and never need to bother looking down my sites but on the console the extra part is needed. Most PC games aren't anywhere near as poorly optimized as MW2. So if you are really "hardcore" type that likes games likes these types of games that are obviously designed for consoles then I can kinda understand that but personally I think cheap games are cheap and I'd rather have good controls.

I read the original post. It's merely an expression of their preference for gamepads, along with two reasons. Hardly evidence of a mental defect. Please Log In to post.
