I never liked that article he contradicts him self. ""The larger dead zone can actually act as a handicap or cheat for gamers with faster reflexes on the Xbox 360. In conclusion, if two gamers with fast reflexes, one with an Xbox 360 controller and the other with a PS3 controller played against each other, more then likely the PS3 gamer would out-twitch the Xbox 360 gamer in pure response time."" wait so players with faster reflexes on the 360 will actually have a major advantage...yet if you have fast reflex users on both systems against each other the ps3 some how wins?.... that makes no sense. as well he even says users with slow reflexes will have problems aiming on the ps3..but not the 360...that makes the 360 sticks superior, they work for fast relfex users, and slow reflex users. It's old as hell but still relevant.

"The Xbox 360 controller however does have slightly more girth around the handle area causing you to cradle the controller instead of grasping it like the DS3."
If you're not an idiot you do exactly the opposite.
But I agree with that analysis otherwise.
Yep I agree with the quote, the 360 controller was definitely built for comfort. I remember when I first held it in my hands, right there and then, I knew Ineeded tohave someone mod my DS3 with the 360 controller's casing. The PS3 controller is made for people with hands the size of 5 year olds, and also has that stupid design where they stick the two analog sticks right up against each other which cramps up my thumbs. 360 is still a bit small for my hands, but it at least seems enough for the average person, so I guess I can't really complain that they made it too small for the minority. I like the wii controller for comfort alot. I absolutely hate PS3 controller though. So much so that when they got rid of the banana design it put me off buying one for a couple years.
I don't understand the DualShock 3 Trigger hate for a long time now. Why are they bad again?
I actually liked them over DualShock 2 triggers...

"Also, another price you pay for a smaller dead zone is it may be harder to use the PS3's analog stick to aim for gamers who have slower reflexes. The larger dead zone can actually act as a handicap or cheat for gamers with faster reflexes on the Xbox 360."
Your hanging on to the term "cheat" which is understandable but it could have been a typo or a mistake on his part. He probably wanted the two terms tobe exclusive to each other but that's pure speculation on my part.
I honestly believe the jest of his comparison was to point out the following:
Quick reflexes + Less Deadzone(DS3) > Quick reflexes + More Deadzone(360); which makes sense in theory.
only thing the DS3 has is the d-pad.
rubber material on sticks, terrible triggers, analog placement, and face button symbols.
even the battery pack is a plus to me. seeing as I don't have to run a charge cable from my cabinet, only improvement other than D-Pad is the 360 controller needs to build-in the battery pack better, but allow for them to be removed/changed easily.
except we like to play games. the reason why the wii and its controller do so well is because people who aren't gamers bought it for the sole reason that it had the then never before seen, motion controls. in short, i'd never play gears of war, infamous, call of duty, gta, or any other games that the ps3 and xbox 360 have with the wii controller. what games i have for the wii, i use a gamecube controller if its allowed.360 and ps3's controllers are soooo 2 gens ago. In case most of you missed it... Wii's controller is the single reason Nintendo dominated MS and Sony this gen. (this is objective truth)

The X360's controller is BULKY with HARD PLASTIC buttons and a crummy d-pad. PS3 controllers = Perfection! What say you?Tony-Baxter
i say thats your opinion. my opinon favors the 360 controller. feels much more durable in my hands and i like the placement of the sticks and trigger design better. i can give up the Dpad for fighting games in favor of the other pros the controller has over the PS3 controller. i use an arcade stick anyway. dpads for fighting games are for noobs and anything else you can use the dpad for is not a problem at all....
i do agree that the PS3 controller kills the 360 one with the packaged in rechargable batteries. thats one thing i wish i had in the 360 controllers but the recharge packs werent too difficult to fork over cash for..
Your right Design = opinion Included Motion = Fact pressure sensitive buttons = Fact Aside from design the ds3 is the same as a 360 controller but with more featuresWell if the facts are too count, than the DS3 wins...

It's funny that you mention those games, because the Wiimote is clearly superior to gamepads in shooters. The main problem is that the Wii versions of such games are often stripped due to the system's lack of horsepower. When it comes to shooters though, I'd rather control them with the Wiimote or keyboard + mouse, but playing those games with a gamepad just feels really outdated and clunky to me, save for the occasional TPS.
I go moo, but the 360's contoller is a lot more comfortable and makes my hand cramp less. I wish Sony would just swallow their pride and just copy the x-pad, with a much better d-pad of course.Deathtransit
its not about sony swallowing its pride its all about user preference
because i have no problems with the ps3 controller and its the xbox360 controller that cramps my hand cramp so there are people that prefer the left stick were is at on the ps3 and would hate to see changed to the xbox360 style
