Same. Generally I've preferred Splinter Cell gameplay over MGS gameplay. Though MGS story dominates any Splinter Cell story..Splinter Cell story is pretty much crapy in comparison to any game's story.
FIrst and foremost, who the hell cares if a it sells if it's a terrible game. The new structure of the series has yet to be proven, so we'll see. But I'm betting MGS4 to be a much better game. And second, a game realesing on two platforms is likely to sell more than a game on one sole system.
Splinter Cell isn't as interesting or as epic as MGS. Conviction looks good but they just turned it into a sandbox game because the series was getting stale, although I can't say it's going to help and I believe it's going to recieve a mixed bag of reviews like Assassins Creed. MGS4 looks fantastic has a wealth of new play mechanics plus 5 major play locations and a great story. I bet you the ending of MGS4 will be the greatest game ending EVA !!!
P.S. Sales-wise I also see MGS4 trumping conviction
