This, and it also helped that R:FOM was the only PS3 exclusive at the time that was actually worth a damn. Still, Resistance 2 sold well over time and is still played to this day, so there's something there that people really like. I'm expecting Resistance 3 to sell around the same numbers as 2, maybe a little less due to heavy hitters like Uncharted 3 and MW3.

Wasn't bundled with my launch console (either of them). One of the launch 60 gb units I bought had that awful Will Ferrel racing movei bundled with it, though.

Maybe it was bundled in EU or something. If it got a bundle in the states, it wasn't at launch.

whoa R3 looks really good....it looks far more interesting than gears and this is coming from someone who has never played either series. The guns in R3 look amazing and the movement seems a bit faster.

Do you want me talk about how the gameplay looks like crap? Fall of Man was a good game but R2 was a downgrade. Resistance 3 is starting to look like CoD, no thank you. Resistance is hardly even talked about in system wars bc the game is a non-factor.

I got the same bundle as you. I'm pretty sure there was a R:FOM bundle as well though.

I think the majority is underestimating Resistance 3 it's likely to be another great title. It's looking very polished graphically too and I'm lovin the artstyle of the game. People find Resistance irrelevant because of Killzone and Gears, but it's another great shooter.

These games have somewhat in common in terms of story and the last surving human thing going on ect... But that's where it ends, they play NOTHING alike. I don't know why people compare games that don't really have anything in common.

But IMO Gears 3 will be the better game, I liked Resistance 1 but didn't think it was amazing or anything like people make it out to be, Resistance 2 was pretty mediocre IMO and I have absoultutely no interest in R3. The FPS market is over saturated right now and R3 doesen't look like anything special IMO.

Personally though I haven't ever really been a big fan of either of these games, but I do find Gearsto be much more enjoyable especially on co-op, and I think I would enjoy Gears 3 aswell but its nothing that would make me go out and buy a new 360 for (mine got RROD out of warrenty), but still I think it is a little more polished and creative than the Resistance games.

Nope, the states had a 60gig launch console with FoM bundled. That is what I have, bought it the first week it came out.

Good vid. But Gears 3 curb stops all over Resistance 3. Resistance is a terrible series in my opinion. :(

Looking forward to both games. R 3 comes out the day after labor day, so I'll have a 4 day weekend (don't have any Friday classes this semester) to wait for it :P

Are you sure? IMO Gears of War 3 looks awful, Resistance 3 looks way better. Resistance 3 has a nice soundtrack and gripping characters, the characters in Gears 3 are too ripped IMO. Gears 3 only looks good because of the blur, studies have shown that too much motion blur can cause corrosion of the eyes, so actually Resistance 3 is healthier than Gears of War 3. Gears 3 is horrible and R3 is better, but in IMO of course.

Idk why aswell. It looks awesome, I love the change in atmosphere, and the multiplayer looks really fun aswell, rather than just heaps of players, it's focusing on more fun.

But it may be because of Resistance: FoM. I hated that game, and I think it was was overly praised.

Gears 3 looks better in that video. Beta was so polished vs the R3 beta which was terrible.

Havent played Gears 3 and barely played Gears 1, but if i were to compare Gears 1 and R1, R1 takes the title easily. Gears 1 is one of the most monotonous and boring games I've played. Dont get me wrong, it did well b brining the cover system back to the lime light, and it had fantastic graphics, but the game was a total bore. Sanim02 and I tried playing Gears1 on PC with each other and after about 30min, we were like "screw this crap. We had more fun with Splinter Cell Conviction than this crap" :PII_Seraphim_II

Let's not forget how poor Conviction was on PC either now Sera.:P My god, I was sugar coating the thing for 2 weeks before finally admitting how badly it disappointed me.:P

I hope they had time to clean up Gears 3 before it went gold, I'm kind of worried about it. Hopefully that isn't a representation of the final product. Also what's the deal with the "boss" battle? It's just sitting taking constant punishment without fighting back? That looked bad. Heil68

All of what they showed in this vid was mid 2010 build.

Since then Epic has released tons of videos with amazing graphics on par with UC3 even. ;)

Resistance is surprisingly gory for a FPS of this ilk though. More so than Halo or Killzone.

Whilst their settings and world's a quite comparable for graphics, they can't be compared as some are trying as they're two games that in my eyes have something very different about them. If you were looking at story you wouldn't go near Gears but Resistance holds a superb series story with quite a unique and compelling world. Where as Gears places a lot more emphasis on the multiplayer and the epic set pieces.hoosier7
