You know, I was thinking about this and in 2 years or so when Gears 2 is released it makes a lot of sense that it could also very well hit the PS3 as well. I mean think about it for a second, 2 years from now, "Home" will be very well established and all the other great games will be out. MGS, Killzone, Gran Turismo,Final Fantasy,Warhawk, Lair,Heavenly Sword,Eight days etc etc. So that means that TONS of people will have a PS3 2 years from now, so really wouldnt it make sense that Gears comes to PS3 as well because Epic would make a lot more money if it was released on both consoles considering how the PS3 user base in 2 years will be HUGE because of all the great games and Home will be well established!! Honestly it might not happen ,but it does make sense if it did
Anything possible I guess, but I think with the near-flagship status Gears has with the 360 it's about as likely as Final Fantasy or Metal Gear making the jump.

But any company could publish the next game. but MS will probably sign a deal to keep it exclusive, since i don't think there was actually a signed exclusive deal for Gears of War, it was just a game that Epic decided to make on 360 only.
Although I can't link you to this, I'm pretty sure Microsoft and Epic have an agreement on the Gears franchise. Not the Gears game, the entire franchise.
It will never happen. Gears will go to PC, but not PS3.
Gears going multi-platform would be harmful to potential future sales of the Xbox 360. If anything MS will try to keep it on the 360 at all costs.DrHyde

Yeah but EPIC is not owned by MS, so they can change publisher, just like they did for Unreal from Atari to Midway. There is a chance Gears 2 maybe on PS3, if EPIC change the publisher first.

Not if Microsoft co-owns the IP. Anyway, a game being first-party published and then going multiplat is exceedingly rare. I can only recall one instance. FF7 was originally published by Sony itself, but Square then contracted Eidos to publish a PC version.

Gears of War is already destined for PC and the same will follow for the sequel. You see, since PC is not part of the competition, it really doesn't matter to the publishers if the devs decide to port it to the pc.
