Could Gears of War 2 score a perfect 10?

IMO I think it's very possible. The first one received a 9.6 which is equivalent to a 10. This game looks like a masterpiece.

How does this look like a masterpiece? It looks good but seriously people "good" doesn't mean "masterpiece" many ps3/360 fanboys seem to be tossing this word around as if many games actually deserve it.

That's why the term for a ten is Prime and not perfect anymore. No game is perfect, but there would be no point in having a 10 rating if nothing could get it, so they simply change the term ten so that it means an absolutely amazing game on top of any other game in the genre at the time it comes out.

A 10 is Epic, emotional, polished, great story, great gameplay, great graphics, high replay value and as close as being perfect as a game could possibly be.

And about 3 of those Gears will be missing but I would put gears2 at 9.0-9.5. But it wouldn't surprise me to see it get a 8.5-9.0.

Personally i think it will end up like R6V:2.

I can assume every game has the chance of scoring a perfect 10.... Gears2 is no exception... if the game delivers an overall better gaming exprience than geow1, then i believe it has a huge chance of getting a 10/10... another important factor is the hype surrounding the game, that is huge... and i believe that certain games which have a huge hype, help them getting better scores..

Theoretically, it CAN get a 10 but it's technically more of the same and that's like the plague around these parts. 9.0-9.5 is a more realistic score.

I'm still stickin' with a 9.5 for this game, which, the last time I checked, is an amazing score. Either way I'll be buying this game as soon as I can, and playing it for months on end.

Also, the first Gears got a 9.6, which rounds to a 9.5 in the new 0.5 interval system, not 10.

9.6 is closer to 9.5 than 10.0. Your rounding up fails.

I think it very well could.

if the multiplayer hasnt improved from the first it wont get a 10, unless epic make it an add-on so it doesnt effect the games score like some people i wont mention.

Oh yeah and the characters aren't likable enough...and the script from the first was kinda cheesy...and its not a long enough running franchise to warrant being slapped a 10 based mostly on its name. So no basically.

lulz, i guess MGS2 got a 10 too then.

But anyway no, Gears 2 won't get a 10, the multiplayer will be worthy, but the singleplayer will bring it's score down, it'll most likely be like COD4, fun while it lasts but very short.

Gears 1 did get a lot of it's score because of it's innovation. At the time over the shoulder fps and a true cover system were both fairly new. Especially with such incredible graphics.

i think it will for this reason only: the 360 dosen't have a game with a perfect score so why not the biggest 360 game this year. but will it deserve a 10 is the question

A somewhat upgraded gears 1? ... big deal.

Then again I said the same about GTA4 and MGS4, this industry has gone to ****.

A game to get a perfect score needs some serious elements such as

Impressive graphics

Strong story, very solid

Great gameplay

Vareity and not reptitive

Gears 2 will have the graphics, it will fail in the story department, will have great gameplay and probably will have some decent variety although the first installement was the most reptitive game i played, and in my opinion it was way overated just because of blood and pretty graphics. Gears 2 will be in 9 to 9.5 department, 10 is very unlikley.
