There probably is someone trying to emulate it. THat being said, it's not going to have the graphics. The gameplay is simple enough though.
For the record, XNA is more than flash games. It's more so freeware games (think de blob, etc.) but a popularization of that
I was thinking about how LBP allows people to build their own levels, etc. and at the same time researching Microsofts XNA system, which allows people to build entire games. Out of curiousity, I joined the XNA creators club (its free, and so is the software) and realized that there are dozens upon dozens of user created content. Who's to say someone isn't working on a LBP-eqsue sidescroller construction set? WillieBeamishyup

Do you have to pay to download any xna or is there none available yet?SAGE_OF_FIREfrom my understanding it is free.

coming this fall.
As someone who's working on an XNA game let me tell you this...
nobody is going to make a game that's at the same quality level of Little Big Planet. Teufelhuhn
this is true (i have worked with it- tests though, not games). But I'd say someoen could easily create a physics based sidescroller with a level editor that allows clipping.
I'd just like to point out though, that this was an XNA game made by one person. It did get to become a XBLA game, but still- it means its quality. And this was made within the 2nd year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OP-sFK26OoU&eurl=http://video.google.com/videosearch?ndsp=21&um=1&hl=en&rlz=1T4ADBF_enUS283US284&q=xna%20little%20bigiurl=http://i.ytimg.com/vi/OP-sFK26OoU/default.jpg
***** for the record though, XNA will be home of piracy. There's already a NES, SNES, and Amiga emulator (that I know of so far)
Hmm.. Can us PS3 owners have any thing to ourselves? You took Ace Combat, Devil May and Final Fantasy now you want LittleBigPlanet to? Geeez. j/k :P-Renegade
You know everyone needs some LBP lurve.
Some XNA games even support the guitar hero guitar and even the wiimote (with a blu-tooth to usb adaptor)Gamerman12362

OK, this is how XNA works:
The tools are completely free (XNA Studio 2.0 is out for the Xbox 360, and XNA Studio 3.0 beta is out but only works with the Zune until it integrates the 2.0 functionality).
Next, you can build any game you want for free on the PC. If you want to deploy the game to Xbox 360 hardware, you need to have a paid membership to the XNA Creators club. I think its $100 per year, or $50 for 3 months. You do not need an XBL Gold account to deploy games to your Xbox 360, however.
Ok, if you join the XNA Creators club for free, you can download all the free games, you can deploy them to your PC, and you can look at and modify the code all you want. There are some free video tutorials you also have access to that show you how to build both 2D and 3D games. You can also rate the games of other people. When they get like 10 ratings, their game will be published to XBL for any XBL member to download starting this fall.
Okay here's 1 fresh off fraps, from the PC version. Also making a 360 version side by side. Game's basically going to be based on Skyroads, an old PC game for DOS. A bunch of other guys have been discussing gameplay stuff in the union I made for the project (which anyone is free to join if they want to help out, btw) so I'm not sure exactly how things are going to end up, I've been really working on the game engine and map editor. I've just recently gotten things running nice so hopefully soon it'll be time to get some level-makers working with the map editor to make some cool maps, as of right now I've just been working with a real short test level which you see below. Anyone enough babbling...here's some shots:

Oh I'm not saying someone couldn't pull off something similar...in fact I know of someone working on a cool game with a built-in level editor (although the game is something of an action/RPG/strategy mix). I just mean that LBP really has the whole package in terms of lots of cool content, a network infrastructure for sharing games, great graphics, and really cool physics and level-editing technology. That kind of stuff just can't be pulled off by a team without the same amount of resources.

dude, respect this guy. This isn't some kind of construction kit he's using to build the game you know. It requires programming skills. If he dropped the source code in this forum your head would explode trying to figure out what it means.
Yeah, but are they really going to spend enough time to get all the physics right for each element? What about the graphics, those won't be the same. My guess is that if there is one, it will end up like Frets on Fire, a GH copy that barely anyone plays.AIH_PSP
But to that copy, there is always a better one.

its actually a xna game. But yea, XNA won't be replicated exactly, but someone will do something like it.

That looks awesome. =O Not LBP quality ofc, but that looks really cool.
Just wondering, is there any differences between the PC and 360 versions? I've heard that alot of XNA games experience slowdown on the 360.

um it was a joke.[QUOTE="SAGE_OF_FIRE"]Do you have to pay to download any xna or is there none available yet?-Karmum-
Downloading the program on the 360 is free, but you gotta pay $100 a year to get games on there or something like that.
