[QUOTE="gamer4life4"]"lol people still care about articles written by Richard Leadbetter." I don't...and this debate is debunk for one simple fact how can we trust by word of mouth. For one thing sony hyped the ps3 stating physical spec numbers and left us dry with what was less than stellar performance in comparison to the xbox360; which out performed the ps3 in benchmarks; which is visual aesthetics and also relevant processing power. Again this time won't be any different. the xbox1 GPU along with the cpu with embedded ram will provide a stable experience and will be a powerhouse and by the game demos. We can ascertain that as MS has never misled us in expo demo's; which sony has done on many occasions. I stand alongside the truth and behind it as I will the new MS console with the Kinect.; which is revolutionary and this time around a lot more powerful and accurate. "Imagine doing scorpions spear throw...GET OVER HERE AWESOMME!!!! If you ask me the whole DRM was a false marketing scheme!!tormentos

OH please MS hyped the xbox one as a 1TF machine in fact the xbox one is actually 1.23 TF 8 years latter.

Best looking PS3 games >>> xbox 360 best looking games.

ESRAM will do sh** to close the gap in performance it just a damn bandaid to help the bandwidth startved DDR3 memory nothing less nothing more.

You don't know $hit. ESRAM will do something to close the performance gap.

In regards to relative narrow performance gap, my view is similar to Richard Leadbetter.

Wickerman777

Doesn't surprice me you are as biased as he is..

Comparing the xbox one GPU with the 7850...

And the PS4 one with a 7870 XT..

Not even a full 7790 can be directly compare with the xbox one,it doesn't have 14 CU nor has 1Ghz speeds.

I thought it was strange to use those cards for comparisons as well until I saw that they downclocked them to 600 mhz. Then it wasn't so bad.

Leadbeater

Was making and encargo article he could have chose to compare the 7770 vs the 7850 like we do,which are very close to both machines flops performance, they whent 7850 because the it serve them best.

The 7770 vs 7850 would had been basically perfect, the xbox one doesn't have 32ROP like the 7850.

The whole MS ancardgo started with the so call memory leak improvement that lead every one on GA to confirm that the xbox one was in deed downgraded.

128 bits @750mhz =96GB/s X 2 = 192GB/s...

The whole 192GB/s second developer leaks wasn't a developer leak it was MS and DF confirmed that by mistake, haven't you notice how lately everthing they say about the PS4 is bad but when the topic is xbox one everything will some how work better than estimated.?

Sites like Anandtech have already weight in on this, and they them self call it the PS4 has more resources plain and simple and a faster memory interface,MS is basically buying opinions and is not the first time they done it,if they can't win good opinions based on the hardware they have, they would probably buy them.

The flops are nearly the same but Xbox One's GPU is better than a 7770 in just about every other way.

Well, the 7770 only has 10 CUs.

ronvalencia

Yep but it has 1ghz clock speed while the xbox one is say to be 800mhz and by some leaks even less 750mhz.

Compared to X1, 7770 has less on-chip SRAM type memory i.e. register file, L1 cache, local data storage, global cache, L2 cache and 'etc'.

7770 = 1 billion triangles per second @ 1Ghz

X1 = 1.6 billion triangles per second @ 800Mhz

And yet its flop count is lower than the 7770 it self thanks to its way lower clock speed.

Polygons aren't anything any more is 2013 not 1996.

Oh for sure but this is GCN you will be hard pressed to find one GPU with higher flop count that actually perform worse than  its lower counter part.

From 7750 to the 7970 is a line and each GPU with more flops perform better, don't know how much good been based on bonaire will help the xbox one,but i don't think it will be from earth to heaven, specially with the xbox one 10% GPU reservation which lands it basically more than 100Gflops behind then 7770 in flop counts.

tormentos has problems with the little details.

ronvalencia

Oh performance is not a line in sertain GPU vs others..

And i just learn something that will shoot down one of your theories.

Remember how you use to say that a 7850 over clocked will be = to 18 CU GPU with 800mhz.?

You can trow that theory out of the window at least on GCN..

The 7790 Bonaire....14 CU 1ghz 1.79 TF count...

vs

The 7850.... 16 CU 860mhz 1.76 TF..

Apparently Bonaire doesn't scale linearly even that is tag as a 1.79TF GPU for having 14CU at 1ghz,it fall behind the 7850 with 860mhz and 16 CU.

This should be very worry some for MS,increasing the clock speed on bonaire will not scale linearly as the 7850 would.

Look as not even over clocked 7790  can pass the 7850,this is not good for the xbox one,any clock increase should be meaning less qith 12CU the PS4 would still beat it quite easy.

Funny because from Cape Verde to Pitcairn to Tahiti all are a line and the one with more flops perform better,on Bonaire case even that it has higher clock speed and high flops than the 7850 Pitcairn it doesn't beat it graphically is basically the exeption of the rule and is the GPU inside the xbox one..

This keep getting better and better..

You don't know $hit. ESRAM will do something to close the performance gap.ronvalencia

ESRAM will do sh** to close the performance gap is not a flop increaser is a damn bandaid to help the xbox one with slow ass DDR3 memory,if the xbox one had GDDR5 now it would not have ESRAM for anything.

Now ESRAM will increase performance my fu***** god you are to in love with MS and the xbox one.

You sure? Considering MS is launching a 1.2 tflops console at the end of the year it might be 2009 or 2010.

I think a part of that is the crappy 128 bit bus in 7790.

Read my last post is very interesting and it show that bonaire doesn't scale well when you over clock it,even that it has 1.79 TF count it performs lower than the 7850 which has 1.76 TF.

Even the OC one performs worse even if the xbox one get a speed bump which i doubt it,it will do little, apparently flop count in Bonaire is not apple to apple in GCN,which should tell you something, because the 7770 > 7750 and teh 7870 > 7850 and the 7850 > 7770 in all cases higher flops wins,on bonaire case is 1.79 yet it losses to the 7850 by several frames.

This should tell you something when comparing the flop count of the xbox one which is 1.23 vs the 7770 which is 1.28.

I still think you're underestimating the effect the 128 bit bus has on the 7790. 7850 has a 256 bit bus.

Well you can say that but Bonaire has a 6000mhz memory speed, compare that to the 7850 4800mhz,the OC even higher 6400mhz memory.

It has a 96GB/s bandwidth i am sure AMD will not starve that GPU on purpose bandwidth wise.

You can put the 7970 Bus on the 7850 it will not change how it will perform, because there is no power to fill that bus.
