Could SMG be one of the very few games that get a 10?

I'm thinking 8.5-9.0, just a gut feeling. 9.5 is possible I guess (I doubt it however)but a 10 would shock me with no online.JTH_22

How the hell would they put online into a mario game?

Some games just aren't meant to have online and they shouldn't have points deducted for that.

I cannot see it getting a 10.

But, in my opinion anyway, it's more likely to than any other coming out soon. I honestly can not think of a single problem with it. Still, I'd be really surprised if it did score AAAA.

There's just so much that has changed since some sites started handing out 10's to games.

I thought the same thing about Edge magazine, but Halo 3 ended up getting it. Gamespot is bound to give a game a 10 eventually.

Well, the platformer genre has hardly evolved. Mario 64 (gameplay wise) has barely aged.

If it's fresh and somewhat innovative, whilst having that classic Mario gameplay. It has a shot at 9.5, not 10.

I saw a video on Nintendo.com that was taken down before I could get the link, it revealed the Chainsaw form of Mario.

If this makes it to the final game, it's AAAA GOTY Material for sure.

... No they didn't if they did, it would have been in the negatives.. And it most certainly does not.. No such standard has ever been made, I think its blasphemy to have such a standard.. Sense some of the best games of all time are solely singleplayer.

People are hyping this game way too much, its just going to end in disappointment. AAAA is perfection in that particular genre, that isn't going to happen, this game doesn't have the quality.

The game with the biggest potential to get a 10 would be Mass Effect, considering its a 10 in pretty much every category, but still its not perfect, the gameplay will most likely let it down, even having the best sci-fi story in a video game isn't going to push it to a 10. There isn't a game on the horizon that I've seen that has the potential to get a 10 on GS thus far. Spore has the greatest chance though.
