Could Sony have tricked MS?

Wouldn't have been surprised if they did. Didn't they leak sub par spec's, to Activision or some such company who then leaked them to Microsoft?

Sony didn't trick anyone. It was solely Micro$ofts decision to stop making games.

MS knows everything about the PS4 and Sony know everything about the nextbox. In both cases probably before a large proportion of people working on the systems knew the final specs.

Sony is the only company to have shown any interest in blocking used games. They filed a patent for blocking them. Microsoft has never said or done anything to make anyone think they are interested in doing that. It is just rumors from unnamed sources that fanboys have latched onto. CanYouDiglt

I think MS thought they were going to have 4GB DDR3 but then PS4 is announced with 8GB DDR5

Sony patents tech to block used games

Sony is the only company to have made advances into blocking used games. Microsoft to my knowledge has not said or done anything in taking steps to block used games like Sony has.

Tricked? I dunno...but Sony definitely surprised everyone with how solid the PS4 looks to be.

actually they were. sony funded the r&d for the xenon the xbox uses. the only reason the ps3 was delayed was because blu ray wasn't ready yet.

That game will never go exclusive. Activision knows they can make much more money by releasing it on PS4 and Next Xbox. No matter what MS wants to pay they know they can make more by releasing a new title on each platform every year.

COD only on Xbox 720 is a dream and a fantasy that wont ever happen. Like saying Halo will come to a Sony platform also.

Actually companies file patents all the time and nothing ever comes out it. In the case of Sony just look at all the crap they've patent in the last year or two and nothing has happened with it, not to say something wont happened but its really not unusual.

Eyepad tablet controller, tech blocking second hand gaming, tech adding trophies to all games, dual shock/move controller that splits, universal 3D glasses, tech used to identify pirated software, touch force detection microphone and gaming controller, HMD glasses, Vita with a HDMI and USB ports, Move controller that changes temperature, a pillow that wakes you up, and tech for interactive advertisments.

Rumors leading up to the PS4 announcement made us think Sony was dropping used games. Maybe that was intentional on Sony's part so MS would feel like it wouldn't hurt them to go ahead and do that w/x720.Tony-Baxter

Even if Next Xbox online DRM is just rumor and people don't want it to happen, this could be such an awesome thing to behold if done right. I mean, EA couldn't do it but we have to put faith in MS since they did launch XBL and look at the success and superiority that has had over PSN and (to some extent) Steam. So, I think this might have some truth to it and people shouldn't be quick to jump the gun (if true).

I think $ony did trick Microsoft. I'm sure they were expecting $ony to turn up to the party this time after failing to show up last gen. Now they have shown what the PS4 has to offer I bet Microsoft are sat around a table in Redmond laughing their bollocks off :lol:
