Could the Wii play every Gamecube game?

I have a Wii and am going to buy a Gamecube controller and memory card because I want to try old Gamecube games.Does the Wii have the ability to play all Gamecube games or just a certain selection?

yes the wii is 100% backwards compatible with gamecube games.

The only games that don't work are those that were meant to be played online... Both of them. Everything else works flawlessly.

yea they were but you can still play on private servers, my friend still plays Phantasy Star online occasionally, I think the largeast private server available had around 500 players only though he said.
