Counter Strike and Half Life are Overrated

Now don't get me wrong. I am a Hermit/sheep/lemming (shlermit?) So i'm no crazed cow.

But...to me? Half Life and Counter Strike are overrated. Alot.

Counter Strike is so generic and full oif hackers, it's not even fun anymore compared to shooters like Crysis, Far Cry 2 and Halo 3. Of course, it is an older game, but it doesn't change the fact that it is being made into a god send for PC gamers. In every arguement about shooters, It's always Half-Life this or Counter Strike that. IMO, Unreal Tournament >>>>>>>>Counterstrike.

As for Half-Life? What new did Half Life two bring? Dumb enemies, as far as I'm concerned. Now I have to buy it again just to play Team Fortress 2? Please. A gravity gun? Done in other games so much, it's not even unique anymore. Weapons? Shotgun, Machine gun, pistol, and Crowbar. A little variety won't hury ya ;)

One more thing....the Valva Engine SUCKS. It's time for an Upgrade!Look at the Valve engine. Now look at the Unreal engine. Notice a difference? If there is a Half-Life 3, it better be on a new engine, other wise it has no chance against beauties like Crysis or Far Cry 2. Thanks for reading...just in case....FLAME SHIELD, ON!

if you look at the Package details, you'll see that it could be bought separately, probably at launch.

While UT is one of my top games. CS is far from overrated. I'm not sure what the deal is with popular perception saying the game is overrun with hackers, while they are out there, if you go to a server that you like and has an admin in the problem can be solved very quickly. CS is just full of win it does a lot of stuff right, it is addicting, and just plain fun to play.

people compare that CS trash to games like Unreal 2k4, Halo and BF2

And well you do make some good points, but all online games have some sort of hacks.....

Still I think Global Operations was the BEST online game I ever played!!!! IMO...

Could not afford to play Halo 2 or any game on XBL, however I did play counter strike, but yeah, it's very mod friendly and got kicked and headshoted, and had the words " PWNED" sprayed on me a couple of times......

Never played Unreal....however did play Tribes, I had fun....

Forgot to say something about Half Life, I loved that game, it is not overrated!!! If your talking about the sequel, then fine but the first was a master piece! I loved those scripted events!

Half-Life 2 improved on the Half-Life formula by an impressive margin. Whereas Half-Life 1 had scripted sequences to progress the story, Half-Life 2 made a living, breathing world, taking it to the next level. >_>

I'm not familiar with the CS community, but the best place to start would be IRC. See if you can find a good group of experienced players to start doing organized PUGS with, and go from there.
