Ahem. Is anyone forgetting the fact that there are two USB 2.0 ports on the front of the 360? These could be used to play CSS on 360 once MS releases the proprietary drivers/licenses. There, Hermits, argument nullified.KOTORkicker
I thought they arent doing keyboard and mouse? :|

Ok so you gonna play it...on your lap...on a table...If you sit on a couch it almost impossible to be comfortable and still play, unless you have a desk that is good in size its almost impossible to play even if you COULD hook up a KB/M, thats why most console players dont adapt to things such as this...its just a much different enviroment from a desk.
[QUOTE="Playstation3E"]Wasn't counter strike on the Xbox horrible?
Lets hope its not as bad as the one on the original xbox.

It was an exact clone of 1.6 but for the consoles....the community diminished quickly and it was soon forgotten..

If I remember correctly it was more like cz than 1.6CZ was a horrible upgrade to the series...sheilds was somthing that was not needed at all...and there was no difference form 1.6, From the screens of the game it looks just like 1.6, but i never played it before so i dont know..
If you ask me you dont even need a keyboard and mouse to play it. And i say that as a PC gamer (see earlier... i said the xbox version had nothing on the PC one).
The whole "keyboard is epic compared to thumbsticks!" thing is pretty much a myth these days. In the days of the N64 where console shooters controlled horribly and needed heckloads of auto aim, i'd have agreed. But today? No. Obviously the mouse is more precise but subtle aim-control on console shooters has made up for that.
It's so often said that console shooters are for noobs, but i say if you play with a keyboard and mouse and cant handle playing with a controller, maybe you're the "noob" eh?
valve again soaking that franchise to death, they lack talent that is why they lack new games.LoRoseUpJealous?

Controllers are fine IMO..i have no problem with them...BUT i think that CS is not the type of game that goes well with thumbsticks..in a game where headshots count every bullet you use needs to be accurate, BUT your playing on an even playing field with the consoles so it balances out...
I have played with a controller berfore...i dont like it...Everything from COD4 to Gears was a pain for me..it felt VERY unconfortable..but thats just me...some say that KB/M is uncomfortable but thats them...everyone has an opinion, what you play with i could care less..

If everyone is using a controller what is the problem exactly?

there is no problem if everyone is on an even playing field...i said that in my post or did you not catch it..
And even having said that about controllers... i'd probably agree with you. CS just isnt a console game. The xbox version was a very well done, faithful port, and it just didnt work. The community wasnt there, the game didnt feel right; it just didnt fit on a console.
It's a game about updates and patches and finding a great server and getting your buddies together for a really competitive game. It doesnt work on the couch.
They need to release half life 2 deathmatch free to orange box console owners...they really screwed over console gamers.
Using the gravity gun online is better than any other crap any source game has no offer.

Hopefully they release both, I would love CS and HL2DM on Xbox Live.

I suggest you petition Valve to make this game and to make it cross platform. If you do that for me, and if it actually happens, I promise you an absolute smorgasboard of pwnage. Counter Strike is a game where standing still for 1 second means your face will be greased with blood.
I've seen people casually get one-shot kills (HS) with the Desert Eagle and nail headshots while rolling around corners.
I repeat my challenge: when's the last time you've nailed an intentional headshot in a console game without a scope? With auto-aim, it's even harder to do!
But, then again, bring it on. I'm confident that the lowest Counter Strike player on PC could make quick work of a legion of console players.
Oh, my god. Now that I think of it, try Scoutzknivez. Oh, lord. Perhaps then you'd understand.

Yeah because making 3 games (1.6, Sorce, and Condition zero) is milking a franchise...and TF2 if brand new talent valve has..and L4D, and Portal...
before you say somthing please do a little research..
left 4 dead looks like crap, and you pc gamers have been playing the same tired ass counter strike for about 9 years. its old and lame. valve is lame they did not even make counter strike some college kid did. gabe newell is a fat, greasy, untalented piece of crap.
ya, cause theres been nothing else to play:roll:
its ok, maybe consoles will get a game people actually play for more than 6 months, someday.

The sensitivity on current console controllers is impossible to fine tune to competitive fps standards. Gently moving the analog to adjust for a small error in accuracy (i.e. for a headshot) takes too much time to adjust. You will scope in and be a little off, you will jerk the analog and still be a little off, it is ridiculous. This is why console shooters like Halo make it so you can run and snipe at the same time, or making jumping a 15 second phenomenon of slowness to make it easier to take shots.
While if you use a mouse, it's a just a split second twitch with a split second click. Youaccelerate as fast as you move your hand, as opposed to a gamepads super slow to super fast acceleration.
Granted, console players get used to this drawback and say it doesn't affect them. But if they played against someone with equal skill with a mouse, they would get destroyed.

lol have you played the games? Since 1.6 the only improvment was the graphics/ physics and that was in source. Condition zero gave you... hmm a shield? some other random weapon both of which didnt come back in source. Also came with their crap attempt at a singleplayer experience for CS. I love CS but if you think they innovated on the game since 1.6 you are dead wrong.[QUOTE="BobHipJames"][QUOTE="Ninja-Hippo"]If you ask me you dont even need a keyboard and mouse to play it. It hasn't narrowed at all. You've just never played FPS games competitively (and I mean league games, not "I play to win!") if you think there is just a small gap between controllers and KB/M.

Yes, no one should be talking about this unless they've played in situations where it actually matters -- leagues.
I'm sure I could tear up a PC pub with a gamepad too. Actually....I take that back because I can't imagine being able to play with a gamepad.
