Cows - are you going to pay $39.95 to download Warhawk?

point is; trading in games is a huge industry...so much so that even stores are opening that do NOTHING but handle trade ins...;)

It never pays to trade it in. Better off selling it to a friend and getting far more then gamestop offers. They'll give you 25 for gears and turn around and sell it used for 56. Barely even a discount above SRP.

apparently you've never tried blockbuster... they give you way more than eb/gamestop...

and what happens if none of your friends want to buy the game? oh yeah...you must have forgot that part...

so what if they only give you 20 dollars for a game you paid $60 for a year ago? it's $20 off the new game you want to buy...;)

So it is ok to buy multi-player only online game for 60 dollars that has only like 6 maps AND you have to pay fees for online service.

but it is not ok to buy multi-player only online game for 40 dollars that doesn't require fees for online service.

Is that how the argument is going right now?

So true. I haven't traded in one game since I got an ebay seller's account. You will get ripped off if you trade to EB or GS, that much is a guarantee.

i guess the automotive sales industry is a ripoff too...

you lose thousands the minute you drive it off the lot...

I would definitely pay $40 for a good online game. I am waiting until the game releases to see if I want the download or bundle. The ability to play for free without paying for some monthly or yearly online service is also great.

- I don't really need the headset.

- I rarely trade in games so that is not a factor.

- I am not going to download a ton of stuff so saving space on my HDD is not an issue.

- I like idea of having Warhawk downloaded ... right at my fingertips at any time on the XMB. :)

im no cow, but i am buying it. i feel sorry for my friend who bought shadowrun for the 360, it sure is not worth 60.00. but yep ill be dling warhawk for 39.99

Haven't played Warhawk so I can't comment on that, but umm Shadowrun is a lot of fun. Yes it has its problems, but that game is a whole lot of fun for people who like on-line fps. Well wait and see how Warhawk looks when released.

Haven't played Warhawk so I can't comment on that, but umm Shadowrun is a lot of fun. Yes it has its problems, but that game is a whole lot of fun for people who like on-line fps. Well wait and see how Warhawk looks when released.

It's not the quality of the game that is a problem

It is the concept of these people that's a problem.

It is ok to pay online only multi-player game for 60 dollars while paying extra for online service, but paying online only multi-player game for 40 dollars with free online service fee is not ok?

IMO, it encourages devs to be lazy meaning. Why put the features into a game when you can just release it as dl content later and charge for it? :|

Dude, you are mixing apples with oranges. Extra content (after release) has ZERO to do with Blu-Ray vs. DVD and is more an issue of milkage by the developers/publishers.

Just wait Cows. You'll soon be getting charged for "extra content" via PSN. New maps. New levels. Its a great revenue stream for the game makers and the PS3 isn't immune from this. The reason PS3 owners have gotten the "extra content" on their game releases that 360 owners had to pay for as DLC is because their game was released well after the 360 version, thus, putting the extra content on the game disk was an attractive way to lure gamers to buy the game. Wait until we get simultaneous multiplat releases that eventually get DLC. Guaranteed that both 360 and PS3 owners will have to pay for the exact same content when it comes out.

Im getting the 59.99 for the headset. but 39.99 is a good deal plus the games looks sweet online. I heard alot of good things from people who got in the betaRifle76

I think $40 is okay for a multiplayer-only game. Definitely makes Shadowrun look completely ridiculous.Teufelhuhn

Espeicaly when you realize that you have to pay for XBL on top of the 60 to really get any value out of the game...

But that said I think that 39.95 is too much for a download game... even one like this... and I think gamespot will agree.

It's not additional content for a game, it's a full game you're downloading, the only difference is that it's being distributed digitally. DLC and DL a game are 2 different things.
